Not Just Another Spy Thriller, Karan Tacker Calls Special Ops His Turning Point
Karan Tacker opens up about his enduring bond with Neeraj Pandey, calling their creative partnership one of the most defining aspects of his acting journey. The trailer of the much-awaited series Special Ops 2 has finally dropped, and fans are brimming with excitement to see Karan Tacker back on screen. It marks the third instalment in Neeraj Pandey's gripping action-espionage thriller franchise, where Karan reprises his fan-favourite role of Farooq Ali — a RAW agent who operates in high-risk, high-pressure zones. Farooq Ali remains one of the most cherished characters of Karan's career, and he has portrayed the role with remarkable dedication and depth. Karan has been consistently collaborating with Neeraj in recent years, and speaking about their bond, he shared, 'Getting a script from Neeraj Sir is one of the biggest things for me. Outside of television, this was exactly the kind of opportunity I had been seeking as an actor — and I couldn't have asked for a more fitting collaboration than with Neeraj Sir." He also recalled a conversation with Neeraj Pandey from the time Special Ops 1 had just been released. He shared, 'He asked me how I felt about the response. I told him it was amazing. Then he said what if people didn't respond like this? Would it still feel amazing? I said yes because I had a great time shooting it. And that's when he told me the only real takeaway from any project should be the experience you had while making it. That one lesson has stayed with me ever since." Coming to Special Ops 2, the makers have officially announced that the new season will premiere on JioCinema starting July 11. The trailer's official synopsis reads: 'One is a relentless hero, the other is a terror mastermind. In a race against time, Himmat Singh and his team are on a mission to end a 19-year-long manhunt." The series returns with its ensemble cast, including Kay Kay Menon as Himmat Singh, Karan Tacker as Farooq Ali, Vinay Pathak as Abbas Sheikh, and Vipul Gupta as Balakrishna 'Bala" Reddy, among others. What's Next for Karan Tacker? Apart from Special Ops 2, Karan has a packed lineup ahead. He will next be seen in Tanvi: The Great, directed by Anupam Kher. The film recently premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival's Marché du Film and is slated to be screened today, June 19, at the New York Indian Film Festival. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 18. First Published: June 19, 2025, 19:02 IST

"I love beating up guys...": Saiyami Kher on her action-packed role in 'Special Ops 2'
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 16 (ANI): Actor Saiyami Kher will be seen reprising her role of agent Juhi in the second season of Neeraj Pandey's 'Special Ops'. On donning an action-packed role, Saiyami at the show's trailer launch in Mumbai on Monday said, 'For women, there are certain roles which people don't write and you wonder why. But even before Special Ops, what Neeraj sir did with Taapsee Pannu in Baby stood out for me. I hadn't seen anything like that in Indian cinema before. I love doing action. I love beating up guys. That's what women feel like on the inside when guys tease them on the streets. I'm just happy he gave me that opportunity.' Directed by Shivam Nair, 'Special Ops 2' also stars Kay Kay Menon, Prakash Raj, Vinay Pathak, Karan Tacker, Saiyami Kher, Muzammil Ibrahim, Gautami Kapoor, Parmeet Sethi, and Kali Prasad Mukherjee. On what fans can expect from 'Special Ops 2', Neeraj Pandey, in a press note, said, 'This season reflects the times we live in, where the enemy doesn't announce their arrival. The new-age warfare has altered everything we know about threat, security, and sacrifice. Special Ops 2 is about the war we don't see, until it hits home. It's a reminder that in today's world, the greatest battles are fought without a single bullet fired, but the damage runs just as deep.' Kay Kay Menon also opened up about reprising his iconic character of Himmat Singh. 'Himmat Singh has always fought with grit, intellect, and instinct. But this time, the war isn't visible. The stakes are bigger, the threats more unpredictable and that made this season both relevant and deeply personal to portray. There's a quiet burden Himmat carries of duty, of sacrifice, of knowing more than he can say. This chapter allowed me to explore not just the strategist, but the man behind the mission, the father, the patriot, the constant protector.' 'Special Ops 2' will be out on JioHotstar on July 11. Abhishek Bachchan's actress who was critised of not having fuller lips 'Was asked to get nose job, lip fillers', she will be now seen in...
Hindi and Telugu actress Saiyami Kher, who will be seen reprising her role of agent Juhi in the second season of Neeraj Pandey's 'Special Ops', has once shared how she was advised to get lip fillers and a nose job done because people in the industry didn't find her face appropriate. Kher has faced criticism for not undergoing cosmetic procedures. Saiyami seems like a strong-headed actress who refused to undergo the knife. She said in an interview, 'Only on actresses? No, I feel it's actors, actresses – everyone. I feel if someone is not comfortable or happy with the way they look, and they are okay with doing something [to change that, by all means, they should do it if it's going to make them feel like a better, happier person. But you can't be so affected by what the world thinks—that's my opinion. Some people told me I needed to get a lip job done because my lips weren't full enough. They also said I should get a nose job.' Saiyami Kher will be seen in Special Ops 2 On donning an action-packed role, Saiyami at the show's trailer launch in Mumbai on Monday, June 16, said, 'For women, there are certain roles which people don't write and you wonder why.
