"We Ain't Found Sh*t!" SPACEBALLS Actor Tim Russ Seems to Have Joined the Sequel — GeekTyrant
Star Trek: Voyager and original Spaceballs actor Tim Russ has seemingly seemingly confirmed on X that he's set to return in Spaceballs 2 as the trooper who says 'We ain't found shit!' during the hilarious scene while the troopers are combing the desert. I'm very excited about this sequel, and it will bring back Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis as Lone Starr and Dark Helmet. They will be joined by Mel Brooks as Yogurt, Daphne Zuniga as Queen Vespa, Lewis Pullman, Keke Palmer, and Josh Gad. The movie is described as a 'A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two' but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film.' Josh Greenbaum ( Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar ) will direct, with Imagine's Brian Grazer and Jeb Brody producing alongside Gad, Brooks, and Greenbaum. Gad also wrote the script along with Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez.

Pixar's Elio Early Reviews Are All Saying the Same Thing
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors "Elio" doesn't officially release until the end of the week, but plenty of critics have gotten to see the film ahead of time, and they all seem to be making similar praise. While some reviewers point out minor flaws, most agree "Elio" is a fun, touching film that will appeal to the whole family. What Do Early Reviews of 'Elio' Say? On X, luca compares it favorably to the many "live action remakes" saying that it's "a beautiful breath of fresh air. fueled by childlike wonder and just SO sweet, as per usual with pixar. exceptionally lovely stuff, kids and parents alike are gonna love this one." Read More: Pirates of the Caribbean Producer Confirms Returning Cast Meanwhile nateplaysgames calls "Elio" a "STELLAR and PURE galactic adventure story, brimming with wonder and exploring different ways to experience loneliness, love, and family." DISNEY According to Erinonfilm, "Elio" is "a funny yet moving exploration of grief that will tug at your heart strings" that represents "a real return to form for Pixar." Gavin Spoors deviates a bit from the pack. He calls the Pixar film "fairly predictable" but says that doesn't stop "Elio" from being a "tonnes of fun, visually inventive" movie that "packs and emotional punch." Paul Klein doesn't seem to have many issues at all with "Elio". He writes that the film "might just be the best Pixar film since Inside Out. It's often funny, very thrilling and has moments that are very moving. It shows that even the biggest outsider can find community and that our complications make us who we are." It appears the early reviews have revealed the newest Pixar venture has the same magic touch. What Is 'Elio' About? According to Pixar's official description of the film, "the cosmic misadventure introduces Elio, a space fanatic with an active imagination and a huge alien obsession." "So, when he's beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide, Elio's all in for the epic undertaking." "Mistakenly identified as Earth's leader, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be." "Elio" hits theaters June 20. The film is directed by Adrian Molina, madeline Sharafian, and Domee Shi. 'Star Trek' Icon Teases Possible 'Spaceballs 2' Return
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors While he didn't play one of the lead characters, "Star Trek: Voyager" alum Tim Russ had one of the most memorable lines in 1987's "Spaceballs," and he might just be coming back for the sequel. After Amazon MGM's announcement about "Spaceballs 2", Russ took to X and reposted the announcement teaser. Along with the link, he wrote, "I may be ..... combing the desert again..!!!" I may be ….. combing the desert again..!!! — tim russ (@timruss2) June 13, 2025 Read More: Glenn Close Joins 'The Hunger Games' A scene in 1987's "Spaceballs" has Lord Dark Helmet's troops literally "combing" the desert in search of the heroes; i.e., using giant combs to rake the desert sands. Different troops are asked if they've found anything. Russ, who is using a giant hair pick instead of a comb, yells back, "We ain't found sh-t!" The eponymous vessel of "Star Trek: Voyager". The eponymous vessel of "Star Trek: Voyager". Paramount Russ has often joked about the fact that, in spite of his body of work, that one line remains the one thing many fans remember him for. Indeed, on IMDb, "Spaceballs" is listed as one of the top four projects Russ is known for, in spite of how short a time he's on screen. As much as "Spaceballs" fans know him best for his one line in the film, "Star Trek" fans know Russ better as Security Chief Tuvok from "Star Trek: Voyager", a Vulcan and close friend/confidant to Captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew). Russ played Tuvok for all seven seasons of "Star Trek: Voyager" along with a cameo as an alternate version of the character on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine". Decades later, he reprised the role in Season 3 of "Star Trek: Picard". Russ actually made a number of appearances across the franchise before finally being cast as Tuvok. He appeared as minor characters in "Star Trek: The Next Generation", "Deep Space Nine", and in the 1994 feature "Star Trek: Generations". He even auditioned for the part of Geordi La Forge on "The Next Generation", though the role eventually went to LeVar Burton. If Russ does return for "Spaceballs 2", he'll join a cast that includes Bill Pullman, Lewis Pullman, Mel Brooks, Daphne Zuniga, Rick Moranis, Josh Gad, and Keke Palmer. Josh Greenbaum is directing the sequel, with a script from Benji Samit, Dan Hernandez, and Josh Gad. There's no word on exactly when "Spaceballs 2" is expected to bow, but it is scheduled to release in 2027. 'Naked Gun' Reboot Trailer Shares First Look at Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson Team Up
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors The Police Squad is back with a whole bunch of brand new faces. Paramount just released its first fill trailer for its upcoming revival of "The Naked Gun", starring Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin, Jr. and it's exactly the kind of goofball humor fans of the previous films have come to expect. You can watch the trailer below. Read More: 'Spaceballs 2' Recruiting 'Thunderbolts' Star Along with Neeson, the new "Naked Gun" stars Pamela Anderson, presumably as Neeson's love interest. Along with a chuckle worthy scene involving a chair, the trailer gives fans a funny shot where a fairly innocent oven cleaning is mixed up for something much more intimate between the characters. Liam Neeson in "The Naked Gun." Liam Neeson in "The Naked Gun." Paramount Also starring in the comedy are Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, Liza Koshy, Cody Runnels and CCH Pounder. The film is directed by Akiva Schaffer from a script by Schaffer, Dan Gregor, and Doug Mand. Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins serve as producers. "The Naked Gun" was originally conceived from the writing team of David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker, who were often known as ZAZ. They were looking to bring another spoof to the big screen after the 1980 hit "Airplane!" Initially Paramount instead greenlit their police parody idea not as a film, but as the series "Police Squad!" Unfortunately "Police Squad!" was canceled after only a handful of episodes. Eventually ZAZ realized the missing element to their concept was romance. One they added that into the script, Paramount greenlit "The Naked Gun" for the big screen. "The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!" hit theaters in 1988 and did well, making $152 million against a production budget of $12 million. The film spawned two sequels, both of which turned a profit at the box office. Last month, Pamela Anderson told Entertainment Weekly she's hoping the reboot gets to do follow-ups just like the original. "I'm hoping people love it," Anderson said. "We had so much fun making it. I think it's timely for a beloved comedy like this. I'm a fan of the originals. As Liam [Neeson] says, 'We could all use a good giggle.' I pray we do more." Anderson also said she loved working with Neeson and developed a close friendship with him. "We had many dinners out with the cast," Anderson recalled. "I invited him and his assistant over for romantic dinners with me and my assistant so our relationship stayed 'professionally romantic' during filming."
