Miley Cyrus on mom Tish Cyrus unfollowing her on Instagram, says "she doesn't know how to work her phone"
Miley Cyrus and her mom cleared the air over what really went down when Tish seemingly unfollowed Miley in May--shortly after Miley reunited with dad Billy Ray Cyrus amid speculation about a larger Cyrus family feud, reported E! News. Miley Cyrus and her mom cleared the air over what really went down when Tish seemingly unfollowed Miley in May--shortly after Miley reunited with dad Billy Ray Cyrus amid speculation about a larger Cyrus family feud, reported E! News. "The timing was interesting," Miley said on the June 19 episode of Sorry We're Cyrus. "If you were in the family or not in the family, it was weird timing." Tish said "that is true," before the Hannah Montana alum explained why the timing was so notable. "Like, I went to go see Billy Ray and you mysteriously unfollowed me Tish," Miley teased, "and then you got some backlash and then suddenly you knew how to press that follow button real quick. I'm just kidding!" Miley shared the truth behind the unfollowing, saying, "The truth is, which is boring, is there's a bug in Meta," referring to the company that owns Instagram . Their explanation remained in line with what the duo had previously said about the incident, too. When she was asked about the social media activity back in May, Tish--who is also mom to Trace, 36, Braison, 30, and Noah, 25, with ex Billy Ray--wrote on Instagram at the time, "Have no idea how that happened but it's fixed now," reported E! News. "I would never unfollow Miley, her and I are as close as we've always been," Tish added on X. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What She Did Mid-Air Left Passengers Speechless medalmerit Learn More Undo "Period. "I rarely comment on rumors, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us," she wrote on Instagram a few days later. "She's my best friend. Like a lot of moms, she doesn't know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me-simple, coincidental, and uninteresting." While Miley later admitted that half of her family "weren't speaking to each other at one point," she shed some light into how she and her father "cleaned all that up," reported E! News. "In that situation, I watched what happens when you don't clean things up as they're happening," she said on Monica Lewinsky's Reclaiming podcast earlier this month. "They really do stack, and then all of a sudden you go, 'Oh my god, it's been 10 years, and this is a mess that I barely even know how to start.' This is emotional hoarding." "I just kind of bust through the pile that's stacked, and just go, 'I'm here. You're here. Let's start by having a good time together,'" Miley added. "And then as we start bringing some happiness and joy into each other's life, then we'll just be in a better place to have these conversations. 'Cause I'd rather get it balanced first," reported E! Miley Cyrus , the 'Used To Be Young' singer, flaunts her relationship with her 27-year-old boyfriend, Maxx Morando, in front of her sister and mother during the podcast. Miley's sister highlighted the fact that they are in a relationship with someone younger than them, and the three of them gave their insights into beautiful relationships. The Cyrus Clan and their partners Miley(36) has been dating Maxx(27) since 2022, whereas her sister, Brandi Cyrus(38), has been dating Matt Southcombe, who is 36. Their mother, Tish Cyrus(58), is married to actor Dominic Purcell, who is three years younger. In a Thursday episode on June 19, 2025, on 'Sorry We're Cyrus,' Miley joined in as a guest on Brandi and Tish's podcast. Referencing the age differences between their relationships, Brandi quipped, 'What does it say about the three of us that, technically, we are all cougars?' '[It says] so many things,' Miley said, before adding, 'Am I the landslide? … [Maxx] will be 27 when I turn 33, which I'm so excited for him to turn 27 'cause that was such a great year for me. I'm just hoping that, as long as he follows in my footsteps, everything is going to be great. That's right, when I started turning my life around,' according to People. Tish, who was previously married to Billy Ray Cyrus , confessed that she never had a thought in her mind about being older than her husband, but was open to hearing about Brandi's perspective. The 58-year-old asked, 'Wait, you and Matt, at some point, [will you be] the same age?' ''Cause it's only a year,' she added. Matt Soutcombe, who was present off-camera, quipped that he is 36, and hence, Brandi and he won't ever be of the same age. As a response, Tish added that the age difference with her husband sometimes is only of 2 years because of their birthdays.

Miley Cyrus Accused "Hannah Montana" Costars Of Smoking Weed On Set
Miley Cyrus has been spilling some behind-the-scenes secrets from her Disney Channel days. Although, there seems to be a bit of contention as to what the truth really is. As you may have noticed, Miley is everywhere at the moment, promoting her new album and its accompanying film. And while touring all the big podcasts, she stopped by for an appearance on the Sorry We're Cyrus pod, which happens to be hosted by her mom, Tish Cyrus, and her older sister, Brandi Cyrus. During a round of quickfire questions, Tish asked Miley to reveal 'a core memory from the Hannah Montana days that still makes [her] laugh,' to which her daughter replied without hesitation: 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it.' For context, Miley and her real-life dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, starred together as a father-daughter duo on the iconic Disney Channel series, which aired from 2006 to 2011. Miley was just 13 years old when she made her Hannah Montana debut. Tish and Brandi burst out laughing at the reply. 'I do remember that,' Brandi said, as Miley called the situation 'hilarious.' Notably, Tish — who divorced Billy Ray in 2022 — even remembered being contacted about the alleged issue at the time, admitting that she was reluctant to believe it. 'They were calling me, saying B. Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying, 'Absolutely not. He would never do that,'' Tish recalled, adding that she instead placed the blame on Mitchel Musso, one of the other young actors on the show who played Oliver Oken. Responding to her mom, Miley agreed that it probably 'was Mitchel Musso' who was smoking weed on set, as well as her dad. 'It was Mitchel,' she said through laughter. 'It was both!' Well, not even a day after the podcast episode dropped, Mitchel himself has entered the chat to dispute Miley and Tish's claims. In a statement to E! News, Mitchel said: 'Well, that's not how I remember it. However, I've got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. If we're revisiting Hannah Montana history — just say the word.' 'All love to Miley and the fam,' he concluded, 'even when the rewrites get this creative.' I'll let you make of that what you will. For what it's worth, Billy Ray hasn't addressed the claim yet, although we've reached out to his rep for comment.

Miley Cyrus claims she was once blamed for dad's Hannah Montana drug use
Miley Cyrus has claimed her dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to 'smoke pot' on the set of Hannah Montana – and she got the blame. The 32-year-old singer, who shot to fame playing a teenage school girl with a secret life as a pop star on the Disney Channel sitcom between 2006 and 2011, admitted the awkward moment was her most 'hilarious' memory from the series. During an appearance on her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus' Sorry We're Cyrus podcast, Miley was asked to share her funniest memory from the show. 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it. It's hilarious,' she recalled. 'He wasn't sharing 'cause Tish wasn't toking yet.' Her mother laughed as she remembered the incident, and joked she tried to defend her then-husband – who she divorced in 2023 – while putting the blame on Miley's co-star Mitchel Musso. 'They were calling me, saying B-Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying: ''Absolutely not, he would never do that. It's Mitchel Musso,'' she quipped. Miley replied: 'Well, it was Mitchel. It was Mitchel Musso! It was both.' However, Mitchel – who played Miley's friend Oliver on the show – had different memories of the incident. 'Well, that's not how I remember it,' the 33-year-old former child star said in a statement to E! News. 'However, I've got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. 'If we're revisiting Hannah Montana history – just say the word. All love to Miley and the fam … even when the rewrites get this creative.' Elsewhere during the chat with her mum and sister, Miley also revealed a recent incident in which her mother seemingly unfollowed her on Instagram after the singer went to see Billy Ray, 63. More Trending This sparked rumours of another family feud – but the singer has revealed it was actually just a 'bug' in the platform. 'If you were in the family or not in the family, it was weird timing. I went to see B-Ray, and you did mysteriously unfollow me – and then you got some backlash and suddenly knew how to press that follow button,' she joked. 'The truth is boring. There's a bug in Meta, it naturally unfollows the person that you follow with the most engagement … I was either, like: 'Mom lost her glasses and can't see,' which is what I thought happened. Then, there was actually a bug in Meta.' View More » Metro has contacted Billy Ray Cyrus' reps for comment. Got a story?
