Ju Haknyeon leaves The Boyz, denies prostitution allegations in apology
Ju Haknyeon has officially departed from the K-pop group The Boyz and his agency, One Hundred, following what the agency described as 'issues involving Ju Haknyeon's private life.' According to reports by Soompi on Wednesday, the agency announced the artist's departure and termination of his exclusive contract with an official statement. 'As soon as we were informed of issues involving Ju Haknyeon's private life, our company immediately suspended his activities and took time to thoroughly verify the facts,' One Hundred said. 'As a result, we have come to recognize the seriousness of this issue and have clearly determined that it is no longer possible for us to maintain the trust in him as an artist. After sufficient discussions with the members of THE BOYZ, we have made the final decision for Ju Haknyeon to depart the team and to terminate his exclusive contract.' The agency also stated its commitment to supporting the remaining members of The Boyz and apologized to fans for causing concern. Per Soompi, the issue in question came to light earlier on Wednesday when News1 reported having obtained a letter of inquiry from Japanese media outlet Shukan Bunshun. The said inquiry was sent to One Hundred regarding Ju Haknyeon's alleged private meeting with former Japanese AV actress Asuka Kirara in May. 'We received a letter of inquiry from Shukan Bunshun, and we confirmed the truth [of the report] with Ju Haknyeon,' One Hundred had said regarding the report. Following his departure from The Boyz, Ju Haknyeon uploaded a handwritten letter denying the allegations via Instagram Stories, which was translated into English by Soompi. 'First, I apologize to the fans who must have been greatly shocked by the news about me, as well as everyone whom I gave cause for concern through this unsavory matter,' he wrote. He admitted to attending a private gathering with alcohol with an acquaintance in the 'wee hours of the morning of May 30, 2025.' However, he denied engaging in any illegal activity, such as the prostitution allegations that have been made against him. 'It is completely false that I engaged in any illegal activity, such as the prostitution that is being mentioned in news reports and rumors. Before the official release of their new album, the group held an official press conference to brief the public about their plans for the future, their new album, music video, and more. Ateez talk about 'Golden Hour' and ' Lemon Drop ' Hong Joong, the leader of the group, introduced their new album and comeback after 7 months, stating that 'It's our first new mini album in seven months. It's the long-awaited Part 3. We've been preparing for a long time. We'll work hard to promote in order to meet expectations,' as per reports from Soompi. Hong Joong also talked about the album and the new music that the group is making a comeback with. He described the title song 'Lemon Drop' as "an R&B hip-hop genre song with a refreshing vibe, containing ATEEZ's sweet and tangy confession." Providing more context, he shared that 'I've heard this summer is going to be hotter. It's a song that can fill the hot summer days with ATEEZ's excitement." Yeongsang also talked about what the group had in mind while preparing for the comeback, stating that 'It's our first summer song in a long while, so we thought about it a lot, and the members worked hard to prepare,' while Wooyoung added to the conversation and shared that 'Through this album, we tried to showcase ATEEZ's unique colours. I hope you recognise our sincerity.' Hong Joong continued, sharing that "For those familiar with ATEEZ's intense music, they might think, 'Has ATEEZ's style changed?'" It's not that our pursuit has changed, but this genre of song best fits the message we wanted to convey in this series." Wooyoung also talked about wanting to show a refreshing side of Ateez. He shared that "Since we've been doing intense songs, I think this one feels fresher compared to what ATEEZ has done so far. I want to hear people say, 'ATEEZ is good at summer songs too.' Intense and strong songs are great, but these kinds of songs suit them well too.' It would be nice to have the title 'Summer is ATEEZ' as well." Yunho talked about watching the music video for the first time at the press conference itself and shared that he thought Hong Joong's rapping scene was his favourite. He shared that 'The music video itself is so fresh and sexy, but I personally like Hongjoong's rap part while he's sweating inside a car. It was the last filming [for that day], so we left him and went home.' He also added that there is a scene in the final music video where the members are rapping while driving a car. He fondly recalled filming the scene with his fellow members and shared that 'We didn't think of it as filming but rather going on a drive.'

BTS' RM and V complete military service, promise concerts 'real soon', fans erupt in joy
BTS members Kim Namjoon, aka RM, and Kim Taehyung, aka V, have been discharged from the South Korean military after completing their mandatory service. And they made a memorable exit, with RM playing the saxophone and V carrying a bouquet of flowers. The duo hinted at returning to the stage soon, sending fans into a frenzy on social media. They were cheered by dozens of fans near the military base as the two members, in their army uniforms, saluted the crowd. According to Soompi, RM and V enlisted in December 2023. They served as members of the 15th Infantry Division Military Army Band and the II Corps Special Duty Team, respectively. After being discharged from their respective divisions, the two moved to a location in Chuncheon where they greeted fans and made the moment even more special -- RM treated fans to a saxophone performance of the Case Closed (Detective Conan) soundtrack. Meanwhile, V stood beside him with a big smile on his face and two flower bouquets in his hands. The duo stepped out of separate vehicles and exchanged a light hug. The pair departed separately in two black minivans after offering one final salute. "To all the ARMYs who have waited for us in the military, I want to say I am truly, truly grateful. Please wait just a little longer and we will return with a really cool performance," V said in front of fans and media. RM took to Instagram shortly after his discharge, sharing a few snaps that gave fans a glimpse into his day. Joo Hyun Young was involved in a minor car accident while going to work On June 4, while the actress was on her way to a shooting location situated in Hadong County, South Gyeongsang Province , she ended up getting involved in a car accident. The actress was being driven to the location by her managers during the morning when the accident occurred, as per Soompi. Hyun Young sustained minor injuries due to the accident but is not in danger and was treated promptly. Agency issues official statement The actress's agency quickly took over the situation and promptly put out an official statement. They confirmed in the same reports that the actress will take a short hiatus from her schedule in order to rest and recover as quickly as possible. The statement read: 'There was a minor accident while travelling for filming. Based on medical advice that she needs rest and treatment, she will focus on recovery for the time being. The filming schedule is currently being adjusted.' Other than acting, Hyun Young is also involved in hosting her own radio show. In the meantime, as she recovers from her accident, the show will proceed to go on. Since the actress will be unable to host the show, special DJs will be invited to take over in the meantime.
