Fortnite confirms new Squid Game map for Reload mode: Release date and what we know so far

Fortnite is all set to welcome one of its most gripping collaborations yet. A new crossover map inspired by the Netflix global hit Squid Game will soon arrive in the popular Reload mode. The news was confirmed by Fortnite's official X account, sparking excitement among fans of the battle royale and the brutal survival drama alike. In a cryptic yet thrilling teaser shared online, Fortnite wrote, 'Run, run, run. New Squid Game map in Reload. Next week!' While the post didn't give away much, it was enough to set the internet abuzz. Fortnite x Squid Game: New Reload map release date (X) Squid Game comes to Reload mode Reload, Fortnite's fast-paced mode rooted in classic battle royale mechanics, seems like an ideal match for Squid Game-style eliminations. Fans are already imagining how tense challenges such as Red Light, Green Light will be recreated within the Fortnite universe. This is not the first time Squid Game was connected to Fortnite. At the State of Unreal earlier this year, it was announced that official Squid Game creation tools would be added to the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) on June 27, Gamerant reported. These will let players build custom experiences using licensed assets-making this crossover one of the most interactive yet. Also read: Fortnite guide: How to get the Battle Bus SUV? All you need to know Tools, timing and what to expect Although Epic Games has not confirmed an exact release date for the Reload crossover map, it is expected to launch alongside or shortly after the UEFN update on June 27. This means fans may get to experience not just pre-built maps but also community-created versions of the dystopian game's challenges. The Squid Game map is likely to feature core elements of the series-tension, competition and timed eliminations-designed to fit Fortnite's gameplay style. It's part of a broader push by Epic to blend licensed content into its creative ecosystem, with more immersive and user-generated content leading the charge. 'The Simpsons' crossover may follow In another interesting development, Khaleej Times has reported that Epic may be preparing a Fortnite x The Simpsons crossover. According to leaks, a Springfield-style island is in the works, possibly as the setting for a future limited-time event or themed mini-season. If the reports are true, it would mark the first time The Simpsons joins the Fortnite universe-opening the door to nostalgic gameplay for long-time fans of the animated series. FAQs What is the release date for the Squid Game Reload map? Fortnite has confirmed the map is coming "next week," but a precise date has not been revealed yet. What will the Squid Game content include? The content will include a new map in Reload mode and creative tools in UEFN, allowing players to build Squid Game-inspired challenges. Is a Simpsons collaboration confirmed? Not officially. But leaks suggest that Epic Games is working on a Springfield-themed map for a future Fortnite update.

The Internet Is Truly Losing It Over This Squeaky Tank At Trump's Military Parade

As you all know, Trump's military parade was on Saturday. A lot of the discourse has centered around crowd size. The comments are very funny. "Fourteen people and a squeaky tank I'm crying," this person commented. "The silence with the wheels squeaking is SENDING ME," another person wrote. This person compared the audio to a SpongeBob meme. Another person called it the "military version of the screeching sneakers." And this person said, "This is like something out of the Simpsons." Then there are these type of jokes: "More people showed up to the Jack Schlossberg lookalike contest than this hahahahahah." "The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World has 1-2 parades a day, every day, that are more well-attended than this sad little belly flop." "I had more people at my Bar Mitzvah party." And lastly, "I've seen more people at Applebees on a Tuesday."

Simpsons creator says being 'forbidden' is 'one of best things that happened'

The creator of The Simpsons has revealed how controversy surrounding the show was 'one of the best things' that ever happened to it. The long-running sitcom boasts a whopping 36 seasons to its name and has been on the air since 1990. However, from Homer Simpson's lazy approach to his job or Bart causing mischief at school, the series hasn't always been beloved. Early on in its infancy, the show made headlines as many parents banned their children from watching it. However, according to its creator Matt Groening, that negativity may actually have helped the show in the long run. Speaking to Variety , Groening said: 'One of the best things that ever happened in the course of the show was that some people forbade the show. 'It became this exotic, forbidden thing. Bart Simpson Underachiever T-shirts were once controversial and banned in schools. So when we did a Lisa Simpson Overachiever T-shirt, but we got in trouble for that because it said 'Damn I'm Good'.' Groening went on to add that the show's longevity was helped by its ability to be told through other mediums, such as comics or video games. The 71–year-old explained: 'It is storytelling. Even merchandise –even a lunch box –we try to tell a little story, include a little joke. We try to avoid what's called in the biz a 'label slap. We actually try to have jokes on everything.' This comes after the replacement for a long-running Simpsons character was announced last month. In 1989, Pamela Hayden joined the American animated series, voicing characters including Milhouse Van Houten, Jimbo Jones and Rod Flanders. But in November 2024, after appearing in more than 700 episodes over 35 years, the 71-year-old revealed she was leaving the show. 'The time has come for me to hang up my microphone, but how do I say goodbye to The Simpsons?……not easily,' she shared in a statement. Six months on, it's now been revealed who will be replacing Hayden as Milhouse, best known for being Bart Simpson's best friend. Entertainment Weekly has reported he will now be played by singer Kelly Macleod. The musician has appeared in The Simpsons before — in 2022 she performed the song Two Badges, One Mind in an episode titled Bart the Cool Kid, which also starred The Weeknd and Michael Rapaport. No political jokes in Springfield, says Simpsons creator Groening

Like many American families struggling for unity in the polarised United States, The Simpsons have decided to avoid political jokes, the creator of the series Matt Groening told AFP. Despite the potential for storylines and humour, Groening ruled out venturing into America's toxic politics for laughs. "We don't do political humour because political humour is very limited. It dates very quickly," he said during an interview at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in the French Alps. A Simpsons season takes at least six to nine months to produce, raising the risk of gags turning stale, Groening explained. The show –- broadcast on US network Fox TV and on Disney Plus, which now owns the series –- has sometimes appeared to predict real events, such as Donald Trump's election, which was first referenced in an episode in 2000. It has also featured parodies in the past of a host of politicians from Bill Clinton to Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Arnold Schwarzenegger. "We just have to stay true to our characters, their spirit and their relationships. And when they face the sadness of the world, people feel briefly connected to them," writer-producer Matt Selman told AFP. Despite Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie remaining frozen in time since their debut in 1989, the writers have ensured the story lines move with the times. A recent episode parodied artificial intelligence when a chatbot was asked to write the finale. "In the plot of that episode, AI was given the job of writing the perfect finale. And of course, it just regurgitated and spat out all the other finales from all the other shows in very unoriginal and silly ways that of course would be terrible," said Selman. "It was our attempt to push back at AI, push back at ever ending the show." The natural environment remains a rich source of inspiration, including in "The Simpsons Movie" in 2007 which featured a disaster caused by Homer that leads to Springfield being sealed under a giant dome. "The environment's not going to get cleaned up anytime soon," Groening added. The Simpsons Movie grossed $536.4 million worldwide, but the creators ruled out making a sequel -- for the moment. "We are still recovering from the first movie," joked Groening. "And the sad truth is we don't have enough time to do both the show and the movie unless we decide we want to work really, really hard." The Simpsons has been translated into 26 languages and broadcast in around 100 countries. The 800th episode is set to air in early 2026. mli-adp/giv

It's also worth checking the "Pick of the Week" section on Lidl's website for food discounts. Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts IF you've ever shopped in Aldi or Lidl then you'll probably have experienced its ultra-fast checkout staff. Aldi's speedy reputation is no mistake, in fact, the supermarket claims that its tills are 40 per cent quicker than rivals. It's all part of Aldi's plan to be as efficient as possible - and this, the budget shop claims, helps keep costs low for shoppers. Efficient barcodes on packaging means staff are able to scan items as quickly as possible, with the majority of products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process. It also uses 'shelf-ready' packaging which keeps costs low when it comes to replenishing stock. Do you have a money problem that needs sorting?
