Maghreb "Resilience Convoy" continues journey to break siege on Gaza
Tripoli - Saba: The Maghreb "Resilience Convoy/Sumud" to break the siege on the Gaza Strip continued its journey to Egypt on Wednesday, then to the border with the Strip after entering Libya. The convoy's organizers announced the start of the second phase of the journey. The first group of the Maghreb "Resilience Convoy" to break the siege on Gaza arrived Tuesday, from Tunisia to the Libyan city of al-Zawiya, 51 km from the capital, Tripoli. Dr. Mohammed Amin Balnour, the medical coordinator of the "Resilience Convoy" to Break the Siege on Gaza, stated that the reception in Libya "was exceptional, and people took to the streets to greet the convoy, while Libyan security personnel gave it an official salute." Balnour added that the Libyans "provided the convoy with all necessary aid, including food, cold water, and other supplies." Regarding the health status of the convoy members, Balnour said, "The health situation is good, with only some cases of travel fatigue." He added, "One patient was returned to Tunisia from Ben Guerdane on the border with Libya." The convoy set off on Monday morning from Tunis, heading for Gaza, in an attempt to break the Israeli blockade and show solidarity with the Palestinians. Approximately 1,700 activists are participating in the convoy, with others expected to join them on the way to the Libyan border, along with Libyan organizations and supporters. According to the activists' overland journey, the starting point was Tunis, heading south toward the Tunisian-Libyan border. The journey will extend across Libya to its border with Egypt, and then to the Rafah land crossing. The overland convoy is expected to arrive in Cairo on Thursday and then head to the Rafah crossing, where it will arrive on Sunday, according to what the organizers posted on their social media page. Approximately 1,500 Tunisian civil society and human rights activists, as well as approximately 200 Algerians, participated in this first-of-its-kind land convoy to break the siege on Gaza. Others, along with Libyan organizations and supporters, will join the convoy en route to the Libyan border. According to organizers, nine buses and 100 private cars set out from the Tunisian capital toward the Libyan border. Additional Libyan vehicles are expected to join the convoy as it travels toward the Egyptian border. The Arab "Sumud" convoy comes as Israeli occupation authorities intercepted the ship "Madeleine," carrying 12 international activists. The convoy is part of an international civil society movement that includes more than 30 countries in partnership with the Global March to Gaza, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, and the Joint Action Coordination for Palestine. Organizers said the convoy is not carrying aid to Gaza, but rather aims to carry out a "symbolic" mission in the Palestinian enclave, which the United Nations has described as the hungriest place on earth. Israel recently allowed limited aid into Gaza after a nearly three-month land blockade. The limited aid allowed by the Israeli occupation authorities is distributed through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which is supported by Israel and the United States, is rejected by the UN, and has faced widespread criticism for its distribution mechanism. Trump Biographer Explains Why US President Hates Harvard: 'He Didn't Get Into It'
Last Updated: Michael Wolff said, 'So one of the Trump things is always holding a grudge against the Ivy League.' As Donald Trump ramped up his campaign against Harvard University, his longtime biographer Michael Wolff offered a striking personal theory on US President's animosity toward the Ivy League school. In a recent episode of The Daily Beast's podcast, Michael Wolff- author of Fire and Fury, Siege, and All or Nothing- dismissed the internet speculation that Donald Trump's anger toward Harvard is due to his son Barron being denied admission. Instead, he pointed to Trump's own past. 'He didn't get into Harvard," Michael Wolff claimed, adding, 'So one of the Trump things is always holding a grudge against the Ivy League." While podcast host Joanna Coles noted that several of Donald Trump's allies have Harvard connections, Michael Wolff argued that personal resentment and Donald Trump's instinct for confrontation were far more central to his current attacks. 'It's important not to lend too much calculation and planning to anything he does," he said, explaining, 'Harvard just fits perfectly into the kind of elite enemy Trump loves to take down." All of this is part of 'the Trump show", the biographer said, adding, 'He needs an enemy. Harvard, for all it represents, fits right into that narrative. It's drama. It's domination of the headlines. And that's what Trump lives for." There is no official record confirming that Donald Trump ever applied to Harvard as he attended Fordham University before transferring to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics. Donald Trump accused the university of antisemitism, frozen $2.2 billion in federal funding, and barred it from enrolling new international students unless it complies with a set of White House demands. Harvard has refused to yield, calling the restrictions unlawful. The Donald Trump administration has also ordered consular officers to apply enhanced scrutiny to visa applicants headed to Harvard. Dual front, anti-cheat innovations and destructibility [PEGI] Rainbow Six Siege X Reveal Gameplay Trailer The headline addition with the release is going to be the Dual Front, the 6v6 mode, which allows attackers and defenders to fight side by side. Set on the District's new map, the squads can secure the enemy sectors while guarding their own. The destructible environment further adds chaos— gas pipes will explore fiery barriers, metal detectors ping on the enemy movements, and smoke detectors can obscure the sightlines. The matches even reward some adaptive strategies, especially with the respawns, allowing the Operators to swap in the middle of the game. Operator updates and the anti-cheat push Season 2—Operation Daybreak launches alongside Siege X. It will rework the Clash with the deployable shield and the remote taser. The balance changes the hit, Thunderbird, Jackal, and others, while the electricity now will slow down and not damage the players. Beyond the gameplay, Rainbow Siege X tightens the security with the R6 ShieldGuard, the dynamic anti-cheat system that updates in real time to outpace the hackers. Even the Reputation System is now active, and it reduces toxic behavior, tracking the player's conduct. The future seasons will even add voice chat moderation or some stricter penalties for the quitters. Post the launch, 3 maps every season will get visual upgrades. It will start with Nighthaven and the Consulate. Season 3 will further add the Swiss defender and the Siege Cup weekend tournament, while Season 4 will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Siege with the mystery Attacker rework. Bottom line? If it doesn't, you can register for the test server via the Ubisoft Connect website. Siege X will feature Operation Daybreak. Coinciding with the launch of Siege X is the start of Operation Daybreak, the second season of Rainbow Six Siege Year 10. This season brings of host of balancing updates for various Operators, changes to electricity and limb damage, as well as an Operator remaster for Clash. Clash is the first Defender to ever wield a shield, and it's her CCE Shield that has received some significant upgrades. She can now deploy her CCE Shield MK2, freeing her to move more quickly and position herself to play off of her shield's stationary position. While the shield is deployed, Clash can operate its taser remotely, applying the shocking and slowing effect in a broad cone-shaped area. Defenders looking to remove this obstacle can use explosives or, if they get close enough, simply burst through the shield and destroy it (but beware, Clash or her allies can also execute this burst-through maneuver for a surprise attack). Clash can still play with her shield in-hand or on her back as well, and it's been updated to automatically collapse and expand as she sprints, crouches, vaults, and crashes through barricades. She can deploy it, pick it back up, and put down somewhere else. It's more nimble, more versatile, and gives Clash more ways to be an absolute force on the defending team. Some notable balancing updates will also arrive with Operation Daybreak. Electricity will no longer damage any Operators. It will be a neutral element that will still have a slowing effect on Operators, and will destroy gadgets regardless of team affiliation. Limb damage will be reduced, making it more important than ever to aim for center mass or heads. Shield Operators will no longer be able to aim down sights while vaulting or dropping from higher levels. Blackbeard's shield glass has been tinted to make it easier to see if it's up or down. Jackal will only ping an enemy position one time after scanning footprints, and the footprints will disappear immediately after being scanned. He will also be able to use it five times, an increase from the current three. Jäger will now be able to eliminate Capitão's bolts and Gridlock's Trax Stingers with his Active Defense System. Thunderbird will no longer allow enemies to heal from her Kona Stations (unless Brava's Kludge Drone takes them over). Sledge will be able to knock down shield users he comes across (which he is likely to do more often now that attackers and defenders can be on the same team in Dual Front). Operation Daybreak is launching on June 10, read the full news breakdown on the official Rainbow Six Siege website. Introduced earlier this year, R6 ShieldGuard is the unification of game security and anti-cheat tools developed by the Rainbow Six Siege team to help ensure fair competition for everyone. Thanks to the introduction of new security hardening tech in Season 1, Operation Prep Phase, cheat reports are trending down as more cheaters are being banned. Season 2 will bring a major security update as well as a powerful change to how updates are delivered. Soon, the unified anti-cheat system will be fully dynamic, allowing the dev team to push a new game executable directly to players at any time during the season and making it significantly more difficult for cheat-makers to adapt. This proactive approach will continue throughout Seasons 3 & 4 as the team works with pro players and the community to continually refine their systems. In addition to protecting the competitive fairness of Siege X, the team is also focused on making the game more respectful and secure for all players. The now-fully activated Reputation System has seen the number of negative actions decrease, including a drop in abusive language, while text chat usage has increased along with reports of positive actions in-game. Seasons 3 & 4 will continue to bolster these efforts with voice chat moderation, new Reputation System actions, and improvements to privacy settings, abandon penalties, and in-game reports. Rainbow Six Siege X specs on PC. Looking ahead to seasons beyond Operation Daybreak, the Siege X team has shared some tidbits about what's on the roadmap for later this year. Season 3 will bring three more modernized maps – Nighthaven, Lair, and Consulate – as well as assignment changes in Dual Front with narrative ties to the new Operator. This new Defender will hail from Switzerland and introduce a new weapon to the game. Players looking for a true competitive challenge will have plenty of opportunities when the Siege Cup becomes available every weekend, and allows you to inspect the stats of your opponents before the match begins. Plus, be on the lookout for a returning Halloween event on a new map. Season 4 will mark the 10-year anniversary of Rainbow Six Siege, and a special in-game event is planned to celebrate the occasion. The season will also deliver an Operator remaster of an Attacker, as well as another new weapon that will, for the first time, be available for multiple Operators upon release (first as part of the battlepass, and later to everyone). Two more modernized maps are inbound – Theme Park and Skyscraper – in addition to a full rework and modernization for a third map. Significant updates for the training modes, including Keres Legion targets instead of test dummies, are also coming in Season 4, plus improvements to ranked matchmaking, a new Dual Front assignment, and continued balancing work that will address EMP and jamming systems. Finally, a new playlist called Testing Grounds will serve as a place for the team to explore new ideas and gather feedback as they shape the future of Siege X. The full reveals of seasons 3 & 4 will come later in 2025, but suffice to say it's a big year for Rainbow Six Siege X. The Year 10 dynamic roadmap is also available on the official Rainbow Six Siege website. Rainbow Six Siege X is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and Epic Games, as well as with a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription.
