Bonanza Fire triples in size, evacuation orders expanded in El Dorado County
( — Evacuations have expanded in El Dorado County as the Bonanza Fire continues to spread throughout the area. The Bonanza Fire started around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday. It is located on Bonanza Auto Road and Hollandview Drive, which is about three miles east of Shingle Springs Drive. At around 5:15 p.m., the flames had burned through nearly 62 acres, up from 23 acres only an hour ago. By 7:30 p.m., the flames spread to 80 acres. So far, firefighters have only reached 5% containment. Evacuation Order issued for Bonanza Fire in El Dorado County Surrounding areas are mandated to evacuate, including east of Highway 49. The perimeter of the evacuation orders is continually expanding, according to Cal Fire.
