ANTHONY JOSHUA was such a student of the game he would even ask amateur boxing hopefuls for advice. "He'd ask them questions and I'd be like bloody hell, why are you asking him, him a question? "They just get on the team, he should be asking you, you're the Olympic gold medalist, you're the unified world champion. "But yeah, he'd always ask questions even from people - I don't want to say below him - but that are new to the team, way less experienced, not even just a little bit like way less experienced. "But he'd always give time, he's always good to myself and everyone around." Joshua, 35, parted ways with McCracken after losing to Oleksandr Usyk, 38, in September 2021. He has since been cornered by Robert Garcia, Derrick James and most recently Ben Davison. AJ has been out the ring since September when he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois, 27, before undergoing elbow surgery. He is yet to return to camp and Yafai - who faces Mexican Francisco Rodriguez Jr on Saturday - warned not to rule out a reunion with McCracken in Sheffield. Boxing icon Tyson Fury spotted posing topless in Scots town as he chats with locals Yafai said: "I was there when Josh was there and he became like part of the family and it was quite surreal at one stage because he was one of the most famous people in Britain, especially sportsman, but he became just someone that you'd see every day in the gym when he was in camp anyway. "So I almost became numb to it but he was a great fighter and a superstar. He helped everyone in in British boxing and I looked up to him when I was coming through. "If he ever came back Sheffield it'd be good to see him around but I don't know that's something that him and Rob would have to go through but crazier things have happened." Yafai bids to earn a shot at unified WBA and WBC champion Kenshiro Teraji - but first has to get past veteran Rodriguez Jr. He said: "I'd expect it, but you never know in boxing. Rodriguez is a top five competitor. "He's a former champion, he fought the best of the best, so it's not an easy fight. People don't really know him too well but I can't look past him. "He's a really good fighter and that's the thing nowadays, if people don't know who you're fighting, they don't think they're that good, which is the biggest mistake someone can make because he's a really good fighter but he's just not hugely well known here. "I'm not looking past him. He's a great fighter and hopefully I can get rid of him Saturday." 3

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY owner Dejphon Chansiri faces a race against time to avoid any of his players walking out at Hillsborough. Some of them are still owed part of their wages for May and all their pay for June. 3 3 Under Fifa rules those affected could give notice to rip up their contracts if unpaid for two consecutive months in a calendar year. EFL chiefs have put the Championship club under a transfer embargo until they cough up and bring salaries up to date. But if they fail to pay those affected players at the end of this month, they run the risk of losing them. It is not known which players have or not been paid but SunSport understands it is a small group affected. The club were late with wages in March, but they were paid in full, so that does not count under FIFA regulations, while April was also satisfied. The EFL announced on Wednesday the Owls will be unable to pay transfer or loan fees until January 2027. This means they can only go for free transfers or loans with no money changing hands between clubs. Fans are worried that the chaos could seriously rip the heart out of their club and further rile them against the Thai businessman, who has previously dubbed the supporters as 'selfish'. We should have at least brought in someone who has a proven track record of getting teams promoted.

CCTV images appeal in Sheffield Tinsley Canal murder probe
CCTV images of a man who was later found dead in a canal in Sheffield have been released by police as they try to trace his last body of the 39-year-old man was recovered from the Tinsley Canal near Staniforth Road in Darnall at about 19:15 BST on Tuesday 10 June.A 35-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of his murder had since been released on bail, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson Ch Insp Mark Oughton said it was hoped the images of the man, pictured wearing a grey jacket and trousers, light coloured trainers, and carrying a dark Nike rucksack, "may help jog the memory of anyone who was in the area at the time and might have seen the man". "If you were on the canal towpath or the surrounding area between Shirland Lane and Staniforth Road between 16:00 BST and 19:15 BST on Tuesday last week and have any information, please come forward," he said."No piece of information is too small. It could be a vital piece of information that could help our team of detectives progress this investigation."Police said the man who was found dead had attended a police inquiry desk earlier on Tuesday 10 a result, and in line with normal procedure, a referral was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), the force spokesperson assessment, the IOPC had referred it back to South Yorkshire Police for local investigation, they with information which could help officers investigating the man's death was asked to contact police. Pregnant teenager jailed for role in Rotherham asylum hotel riot
A pregnant woman who threw missiles at police officers and set items alight during rioting outside a hotel housing asylum seekers has been Garner-Abbey, 19, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court to 18 months in prison earlier, just a week after finding out she was court heard she attended the unrest at the Holiday Inn Express, in Manvers, Rotherham, on 4 August alongside ex-partner Philip Wood, 22, who was jailed for two of Sheffield, Judge Jeremy Richardson said while he had reduced Garner-Abbey's sentence "as much as I reasonably can" she had been "right at the centre" of the disorder. He said: "I am conscious [pregnant women] have particular difficulties whilst in custody. That factor has caused me to reflect with great care on your case."The court heard Garner-Abbey and Wood were among hundreds of rioters who hurled missiles at officers trying to protect those inside the one stage Garner-Abbey was filmed stoking a fire with a blue stick, setting it ablaze and then passing the stick to another person, prosecutor Joseph Bell Wood was seen leaving the scene and returning with plant pots from residents' gardens, which he passed to others to break and throw at was also seen approaching a fire in the middle of Manvers Way, while topless and wearing a face covering, to set a phone charger on fire which he then swung above his head. Marc Luxford, on behalf of Wood, said his client had a mental age of 12 or 13 and an IQ score of 51, putting him in the range considered to be a moderate learning said suggestions Wood had groomed or coerced Garner-Abbey were misplaced saying he was "simply not able" to have due to his mental Richardson said while there was some evidence of Wood having a "controlling and malign" influence on Garner-Abbey CCTV showed her "acting of [her] own free will in a prominent way".Garner-Abbey and Wood were also issued with a criminal behaviour order for a period of 10 years.
