Dave Portnoy confirms ex-wife still has ‘full access' to his bank account reportedly worth $150M — here's why

In a recent interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, entrepreneur and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy made a surprising admission: his ex-wife Renee still has 'full access' to his bank account. Portnoy, who is reportedly worth $150 million, said, 'I trust her implicitly. If she wanted to take it, she could… to be honest, she was there when we were living at the in-laws house, she was there when we couldn't afford a hamburger, she was there through the grind. We kind of separated when we started making it, so she doesn't get to enjoy any of that? To me, that's not right.' Though the couple has been separated for years, Portnoy said in a previous interview with ESPN's Sage Steele that their divorce proceedings stalled when a judge insisted their financial agreement was unfair to Renee. But she didn't want half, he explained, so they agreed to a private arrangement outside of court. While Portnoy's story may sound unconventional, it highlights just how messy and expensive divorce can be. Thanks to Jeff Bezos, you can now become a landlord for as little as $100 — and no, you don't have to deal with tenants or fix freezers. A typical case can take anywhere from a few months to a few years, depending on where the couple lives and how intense the conflict is, according to FindLaw, a Thomson Reuters company. The average divorce involves $11,300 in attorney's fees alone and the total costs can exceed $20,000 if it goes to trial, according to Martindale-Nolo Research. And those figures only reflect the legal process — not the long-term financial aftermath. Couples who go through a divorce often underestimate the impact on their finances and post-divorce lives, according experts interviewed by The Wall Street Journal. Dividing up shared assets is typically the most contentious and complicated part of any divorce. Disagreements over real estate, retirement accounts, or illiquid investments can delay proceedings and cause lasting damage to both parties' financial health. A study by the Federal Reserve Bank of found that on average women lose 9% of their income after a divorce while men lose an average of 17%. Though the reasons vary, factors like new living arrangements, tax filing status changes and healthcare coverage often contribute to a loss of income after a divorce. For couples over 50, the impact is even more dramatic: A study in The Journals of Gerontology found that women experienced a 45% decline in their standard of living after divorce, while men saw a 21% drop. While Portnoy's situation is unique, his story underscores the importance of open financial communication before and during divorce. If you're heading toward separation, it's wise to consult a financial advisor or attorney to help divide assets fairly and minimize long-term fallout. Even in the best cases, divorce takes a toll. Did Shannon Sharpe really forget who Nicki Minaj is? Rap queen fires back with brutal lyric

Shannon Sharpe unintentionally ignited a feud with Nicki Minaj (Getty Images) In what might be one of 2025's most unexpected celebrity clashes, NFL legend and sports analyst Shannon Sharpe found himself at the center of a pop culture storm after inadvertently offending hip-hop heavyweight Nicki Minaj . The incident, which gained traction across social media platforms last month, has since simmered—but not without leaving behind a few unforgettable moments. Shannon Sharpe vs. Nicki Minaj: The unexpected celebrity clash that sparked online firestorm The feud began when Sharpe made a comment during a segment that seemingly dismissed or downplayed Nicki Minaj's stature. Although he didn't appear to intend any offense, Nicki took notice—and responded in the way she knows best: bars. Nicki Minaj fired back with a sharp-tongued lyric that quickly went viral among the Barbz and beyond. Rapping, ''Bout to cop you slides, all you do is flip-flop / If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that Sharpe,' she made it crystal clear that she didn't appreciate being mentioned lightly. The jab not only reignited debates about respect between entertainers and athletes but also sent fans into a frenzy dissecting her double entendre. Her lyric played on Sharpe's name and reputation, suggesting he wasn't as sharp—either intellectually or socially—as his name might suggest. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 남재현 박사, 뱃속 "염증 창고" 비우세요! 똥뱃살 쏙 빠져 남재현 체지방 다이어트 더 알아보기 Undo Shannon Sharpe issues a heartfelt apology in an effort to make peace Realizing the backlash was real and that Minaj's fan base wasn't taking it lightly, Sharpe took a different route—public humility. He offered a sincere apology, both acknowledging her influence and inviting her to clear the air. "Nicki, I apologize. I meant no disrespect. Of course, I know who you are. You'll always have an open invitation if you ever want to come sit down and have a conversation. Even if you just want to have a private conversation on the phone or something. It won't go any further between you and I," Sharpe said. Terence Crawford reveals moment he told mother of his children he was having baby with another woman

Terence 'Bud' Crawford may have a perfect 41-0 record, but the four-division boxing champion still knows how to take a loss. 'I'm just a man,' the 36-year-old told Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast in a resurfaced clip from April 23. The retired NFL star and Pro Football Hall of Famer was interviewing Crawford about his long-time love, Alindra, with whom he shares six of his seven children. And the seventh? 'Last one not by her,' said Crawford, who is currently preparing for his highly anticipated September 13 super middleweight bout with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. The admission led Sharpe and Crawford to recreate the moment he told his high school sweetheart of his infidelity. 'Walk me through it,' Sharpe demanded. 'How you go home, "Hey baby… I bought you something… What's going on?"' Sharpe then switched parts, taking on the roll of Crawford's long-time girlfriend: 'Bud, what you got to tell me?' As Crawford recalled, he didn't lie but rather admitted defeat. 'N*****, got one on the way,' Crawford remembered telling Alindra. 'Just like that, Bud?' Sharpe asked. The normally quiet Crawford launched into a straightforward explanation. 'You can't lie. How you gonna lie?' he asked. 'You better tell her now because it's gonna be worse when the baby comes.' As for his children, Crawford said he won't let them box or partake in the Omaha native's favorite spectator sport, football. 'No boxing, no football,' he added. Asked why he'd deny his children the chance to play combat sports, Crawford had an answer ready: 'That's why I did it, so they don't have to.' But what if one of his sons grows to be a hulking 6-foot-3 athlete? 'He's not 6-3 because I'm not 6-foot and his mamma's not 6-foot,' the 5-foot-8 Crawford told Sharpe. 'So he ain't gonna be 6-nothing. He's lucky if he's gonna be 5-8.' While Crawford does enjoy taking his sons fishing, at least one has emerged as a high-level wrestler in Nebraska, a regional hot spot for the sport. Sharpe's interview with Crawford aired days after he was named as a defendant in a sexual assault lawsuit by a woman claiming to be his former girlfriend. Although Sharpe did offer the woman $10 million to settle the dispute, his lawyer Lanny Davis has conceded, the Broncos legend has maintained his innocence and has vowed to fight the case in court. Crawford will face Alvarez on September 13 in what is likely the biggest bout in either champion's respective careers. The Las Vegas bout will be aired on Netflix, which previously drew 108 million viewers to see a 58-year-old Mike Tyson lose to former YouTube star Jake Paul.

Scandalized Shannon Sharpe apologizes to Nicki Minaj over 'misunderstanding'

Shannon Sharpe has apologized to Nicki Minaj after the rapper took a shot at him in her new song, mistakenly thinking he had mocked her on social media. Her 'Banned from No' remix with Lil Wayne hit No. 1 on itunes this week. One line in the song - 'If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that sharp' - appeared to take aim the former NFL player, who in April was accused of rape in a lawsuit. He denies the allegations. Minaj seemed to have taken an issue with Sharpe when, in February 2024 on X, a fan told Sharp that 'Nicki' said she wanted to be on his podcast. 'Nicki who?' Sharpe replied. He has since explained that he thought Nicki meant Nikki Haley as he had recently discussed her on his show. The fan actually meant Minaj, who had spoken about Sharpe's podcast in an interview. But the initial remark obvioulsy didn't go down well with Minaj, who wrote on X: 'If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that sharp!!!! You thought I forgot that 'Nicki who' s*** you did?' A follower then sent her a video of Sharpe explaining the misunderstanding, where his co-host Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson said he was going to text Minaj and tell her what really happened. It seems that message might have not been sent, judging by Minaj's seemingly surprised reaction on X to one of her followers telling her Sharpe was sorry. 'LOL - well we got a funny lil rap bar out of it,' Minaj wrote. 'Thank you, Shannon b/c I was like 'what I done did now?' You never cleared it up to the Barbz so I had to avenge them.' In the segment tweeted to Minaj, Sharpe explained: 'I used to go back and forth with people. I was talking about Nikki Haley. Nikki Haley said it's really great for everybody of black America, and I was like … 'When has it ever been great?' 'Nicki, I was not trying to be disrespectful. Of course I know who you are. I would be remiss to say that I thought you knew who I was, or that you knew anything about 'Club Shay Shay.' I'm not that arrogant. 'Nicki, I apologize. I meant no disrespect. You'll always have an open invitation if you ever want to come sit down and have a conversation. 'Even if you just want to have a private conversation on the phone or something. It won't go any further between you and I.' Sharpe stepped away from his duties as an ESPN host on its 'First Take' show as backlash following the rape lawsuit intensified. 'At this juncture I am electing to step aside temporarily from my ESPN duties,' Sharpe said in a statement back in April. 'I will be devoting this time to my family, and responding and dealing with these false and disruptive allegations set against me. I plan to return to ESPN at the start of the NFL preseason.'
