Nahyan bin Mubarak attends graduation ceremony of 2025 batch at Zayed University

19 June 2025 16:52 ABU DHABI (WAM)Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended the concluding ceremony celebrating the Class of 2025, titled "Future Makers", at Zayed University graduation celebrations, held over three days, recognised the accomplishments of 1,503 students from the university's campuses in Abu Dhabi and final day of the ceremonies honoured 66 postgraduate students from seven colleges, along with 224 outstanding students who graduated with distinction and honours in undergraduate and postgraduate event was attended by Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Community Development and Chairperson of Zayed University's Board of Trustees, alongside board members, dignitaries and the graduates' Nahyan bin Mubarak congratulated the graduates on their achievements, wishing them continued success and a prosperous future. He urged them to apply the knowledge and skills they had acquired to serve the nation, its leadership, and society at large, and to contribute to shaping a bright future for the the conclusion of the ceremony, Sheikh Nahyan received a commemorative gift entitled "Marhaban", a modern sculpture inspired by a verse of poetry by the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The artwork blends traditional Arabic calligraphy with contemporary design, reflecting the values of generosity, pride and the first day of the graduation events, Hajar Al Dhahli, Secretary-General of the Education, Human Development and Community Council, attended as guest of honour and extended congratulations to the graduates of Zayed University, acknowledging the role the institution had played in shaping their intellect and providing them with leadership skills to serve the Al Mazrouei also extended her congratulations to the graduates and their families, describing the ceremony as the beginning of a new chapter shaped by the values and education instilled at Zayed her address to the graduates, she said, 'Your values are what distinguish you—not your titles or appearance. Our leaders are role models in integrity, pride in tradition and a spirit of generosity. Your generation is globally recognised for its generosity, deep-rooted values and proud heritage. Today, each of you carries a national asset called skill, an intellectual asset called knowledge, and a moral asset called conduct. Uphold these values, be your most authentic selves, and leave a legacy that embodies the UAE's love, unity and ambition. 28 Apr 2025 12:02 ABU DHABI (WAM)With the debut of Behavioral Exchange™ (BX2025) in the MENA region just days away, the UAE has announced a compelling programme of speakers and sessions that will bring together more than 500 global and regional leaders to explore how behavioral science is transforming policy and place from April 30 to May 1, BX2025 will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Families event is being organised by the Behavioral Science Group (BSG), a specialised unit within the UAE Government's Office of Development Affairs, in collaboration with the Behavioral Insights Team (BIT) and the Centre for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID) at New York University Abu agenda includes a keynote address by Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Community Development, alongside high-level sessions exploring the societal and policy dimensions of behavioral Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators, will join a session on large-scale climate action, exploring how individual behavior can meaningfully contribute to climate bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, will discuss how policymakers can apply insights from social norms research to advance national Hajer Al Thehli, Secretary-General of the Council for Education, Human Development, and Community, will speak on the role of behavioral insights in improving parental engagement in education. Dr. Najwa Al Aaraj, CEO of the Technology Innovation Institute, will contribute to a session exploring human behavior and effective policy design in the age of artificial Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Director of the Office of Development and Fallen Heroes Affairs at the Presidential Court, highlighted the importance of hosting this global conference in Abu Dhabi—the first of its kind in the Middle emphasised that the event convenes a distinguished group of experts, academics, and practitioners from around the world to advance knowledge across behavioral science fields—particularly those supporting sustainable development goals and vital sectors such as education, health, energy, and further underscored the importance of leveraging global research to develop communities, solve societal challenges, and shape forward-looking policy for the benefit of Attar, Director of the Behavioral Science Group, noted that the UAE's hosting of this international event is part of Abu Dhabi's continued leadership in development, innovation, and its active contribution to advancing sustainable policymaking in behavioral science. She also highlighted Abu Dhabi's pioneering role in fostering global collaboration and delivering impactful community-focused programmes.'BX2025 is not only a proud milestone for C-BID and NYUAD but also a testament to Abu Dhabi's growing role as a regional and global hub for behavioral science. World Economic Forum selects 3 UAE women leaders for 2025 council

The World Economic Forum has chosen three distinguished Emirati women to join the Global Young Leaders Council 2025. The selected leaders are Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Community Empowerment; Meera Sultan Al Suwaidi, Member of the Federal National Council; and Taqwa Wadah Al Hanai, Assistant Professor at New York University Abu Dhabi. The presence of these leaders in a global council comprising top young talents from around the world reflects the UAE's growing influence and commitment to fostering a sustainable future. This selection also underscores the vital role of youth in the UAE, particularly in leadership positions, and highlights their contribution to decision-making and strategic development across various sectors. The recognition of these three leaders is a testament to the UAE's unwavering commitment to empowering women and nurturing youth. The World Economic Forum annually selects young leaders under 40 from diverse fields, including government, business, and academia, to encourage collaboration and innovation. Al Mazrouei has held various significant positions, including Minister of Community Development since February 2023 and Minister of State for Youth Affairs. She holds a master's degree in public policy from the University of Oxford and was the first Emirati to receive a Rhodes Scholarship. Al Suwaidi represents Abu Dhabi in the Federal National Council and leads sovereign partnerships at Mubadala Investment Company. She has been instrumental in establishing Hub71, a tech ecosystem in Abu Dhabi, and holds a master's degree in public affairs from France. Al Hanai specialises in human-computer interaction and is recognised for her innovative research at NYU Abu Dhabi. Her achievements include winning the MIT Technology Review award for Top 10 Innovators under 35 in the MENA region. Emirati youth leaders are making a mark at the World Economic Forum, established in 2004 by Professor Klaus Schwab. The forum's Global Young Leaders Council, formed in 2005, includes top young talents from government, business, and technology working together for a better future. The council fosters partnerships and invests in young leaders' talents to develop sustainable economies. Each year, it honours outstanding young leaders for their achievements and commitment to society. In line with this, the UAE government launched the Young Government Leaders Programme in 2024 to identify emerging leaders in government, with the first session featuring 45 participants focused on building strategic leadership for the future.
