This puzzle adventure is thoroughly integrated into the real life of your hamlet, blending imaginative crafting, colorful exploration, and oddball denizens into a day-to-day existence.
Starting the Chase: Meeting Peter and Minnie
Once you've unlocked Peter Pan and gained enough friends, he'll approach you with a questline focused on his missing shadow. His worry brings you into Minnie Mouse's house, where she might have seen some suspicious behaviour. The final thing she can recall of that night is listening to that identical alarm warning, perhaps a shriek and now dreads that this shadow has snuck through her home.
Well, this is your first big break, and it sets the tone for a colorful, whimsical detective adventure.

Lighting the Way: Crafting the
Shadow Spotlights
To finally capture the most fickle of silhouettes, you'll have to ensnare it with Shadow Spotlights. This mechanic, which first made its debut in the Call of the Netherwings quest, returns. This time it's even larger in scope. You now need to produce four spotlights! Come ready with the following things.
15 Glass
6 Iron Ingots
2 Diamonds
Fast travel to any crafting table, and in the category 'Functional Items,' you'll find the plans to craft your own Shadow Spotlights.
This simple crafting step doesn't just provide more individualization to the quest for the player, encouraging them to search out their own materials in mines and other areas, but deepens their investment with the world around them.

'Shadow Tag' is much more than a catch-and-copy mission. It does something miraculous in that it brings Peter Pan's mythology to life and really makes it feel like part of the world, grounded in his most recognizable traits, flight, playfulness and childlike wonder. The adventure focuses on building teamwork between characters, exploring the beautiful valley, and utilizing items made by players. Maybe most crucially, it's a perfect lead-in to Peter's greater arc overall, promising more mystical misadventures down the line.
As with much of Dreamlight Valley, though, it's not the destination that counts and this time, following evil has never been more charming.
