KCSO seeks man missing since June 2024

The Kern County Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help Friday in finding a 43-year-old man last seen almost a year ago. A department news release said Steve Rodriguez was wearing a striped shirt, light blue jeans and black shoes when he was last seen by his family on June 23, 2024. It described him as Hispanic, standing 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 145 pounds with brown hair, black eyes. It said he has a "Vanessa" tattoo on his neck, one on his right arm that says "Julio" and one on his back with the name "Irma." Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asking to call KCSO at 661-861-3110 or the Secret Witness Line, 661-322-4040. The case reference number is 2024-00083044.

Investigation underway after dog dies from possible gunshot in Northern California

( — Deputies in Northern California are investigating the circumstances behind a dog that may have been shot to death. Around 9:17 p.m. on Feb. 26, the Amador County Sheriff's Office received a call from a resident on Meadowmont Drive in Pioneer. The resident reportedly told deputies he returned home and found his dog dead. He believed the dog had been shot by an unknown suspect. Northern California sheriff's office to work with ICE: 'Public safety first' When ACSO arrived at the scene, they found a small dog with a wound consistent with the entry of a pellet or small caliber bullet. The dog was taken by the responding deputies so a necropsy could be performed to determine the exact cause of death. Deputies said they searched and spoke with people in the neighborhood but didn't find leads. One resident told law enforcement they heard a yelp around 6 p.m., but no shot was heard. The sheriff's office asked local residents to check their home security camera footage for people or vehicles of interest. Anyone with information can call the ACSO Secret Witness Line at 209- 223-4900. A reward may be available for information leading to the arrest and arraignment of those involved. Litzy Jaqueline Sanchez is described as Hispanic, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Sanchez was last seen wearing a red sweater and red pajama pants with Christmas trees. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call KCSO at 661-861-3110 or the Secret Witness Line at 661-322-4040.
