Waltair Division hosts yoga events at railway stations
Waltair Division is organising a series of yoga events from June 16 to 19 and again on June 21 at major railway stations, including Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Araku, Rayagada, Koraput and Jagdalpur, by involving active participation of railway officers, staff, their family members, Scouts & Guides and Civil Defense volunteers. The events are aimed at encouraging the practice of yoga and raise awareness about its benefits among the general public as well as railway fraternity.
At the yoga sessions, a variety of yoga asanas, pranayam and meditation techniques are being taught by experienced yoga instructors. The railway officers and staff are enthusiastically participating at the nominated stations in the Division, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra.
On the International Yoga Day on June 21, Waltair Division will conduct toga session at Waltair Railway Cricket Stadium.
The DRM said that yoga should be inculcated from childhood as part of daily routine. Yoga enhances physical and mental wellness by improving muscular flexibility, mental strength, body balance, and reduce anxiety and stress. It can enhance immunity, and improve health by increasing energy levels and positive attitude, he added.
