Newport weekend events: 5 things to do in and around city
On Saturday, June 21, Newport Cathedral on Stow Hill will host a family summer fair from 10.30am to 2pm.
(Image: Supplied) Visitors can expect a variety of stalls, refreshments, children's activities, and a bric-a-brac sale.
There will also be a "hook-a-duck" and "bean bag toss" with prizes to be won.
The cathedral shop will be open and there will be cakes, books, handmade gifts and more on offer.
For creative types, Peggy's Pots is hosting a pottery painting workshop at Newport Market on Saturday.
(Image: Supplied) There are two sessions to choose from, 12pm to 3pm and 4pm to 7pm, and all skill levels are welcome.
Attendees will have everything they need to design their own unique pottery piece to take home.
Later that evening, at 7.30pm, Le Pub on High Street will feature performances from Save Our Ships, Fountain Island, and System Reset.
(Image: Supplied) Save Our Ships is a pop-punk four-piece band, which started as a lockdown acoustic duo and quickly realised their potential in the genre.
They are known for their catchy choruses and drop-tuned riffs.
System Reset is a punk rock band that originated in the South Wales valleys.
For fans of rock 'n' roll, the Handpost on Bassaleg Road will host a rock 'n' roll revival on Saturday night.
(Image: Supplied) The event will start at 9pm and promises an evening of vintage rock 'n' roll music.
For those interested in wrestling, Newport Neon will host "Luchamania" on Sunday, June 22.
The event, organised by Exposure Wrestling, will see various wrestlers, including the Digital Champion and King of Exposure, in action.

The show will be interactive, with a raffle during the interval, in-ring pictures with some of the stars, and an after-show meet and greet.
