SAMA Approves Madafuou Alarabia to Conduct BNPL Activities
The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) has officially licensed Madafuou Alarabia to offer Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services. This move raises the total number of finance companies licensed by SAMA to 67. In a press release issued today, SAMA stated that the decision aligns with its ongoing efforts to enhance the financial sector, improve transaction efficiency, and foster innovative financial solutions that support financial inclusion across the Kingdom. The Saudi Export-Import Bank (Saudi EXIM) participated as a sponsor at the TXF Global 2025 conference, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from June 10 to 12. The event served as a platform to reinforce Saudi EXIM's role in international trade and build strategic partnerships aimed at boosting the competitiveness of Saudi Arabia's non-oil exports. During the conference, Saudi EXIM CEO Eng. Saad bin Abdulaziz AlKhalb and Credit Oman CEO Khalil bin Ahmed Al Harthy signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to deepen cooperation between the two institutions. The agreement focuses on supporting joint projects, facilitating exports, and exchanging expertise to advance non-oil export growth and enhance economic and trade relations between Saudi Arabia and Oman.
