Second club in talks with Man Utd to hijack Jadon Sancho transfer
Juventus have entered the race to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United ahead of Serie A rivals Napoli. Sancho is looking for a new club after Chelsea opted against making his loan stay at Stamford Bridge permanently, paying a £5million penalty fee to get out of the deal. The former Borussia Dortmund star has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford with no plans for Ruben Amorim to intetragte him back into the United squad. United are looking to offload Sancho on a permanent basis if possible with Serie A champions Napoli emerging as an interested party this week. Reports in Italy have suggested the 25-year-old has already verbally agreed a move that would see him reunited with former United teammate Scott McTominay. But there is still no agreement between the clubs with Napoli regarding United's €25million (£25m) asking price as too high. But reports now claim Juventus have made their own move, opening talks with United. Gianluca di Marzio also reports the Bianconeri have also spoken to Sancho over a move to Turin. Juventus were among the sides interested in signing Sancho last summer with the former England international now prepared to settle for a move to Italy. Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for Sancho this summer while a return to Borussia Dortmund was considered. The Bundesliga club have already confirmed they are looking at other options this summer, however. 'Of course, contact with Jadon is always there, in some way, because we have a very long history,' Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, told Ruhr Nachrichten last month. 'But that's not an issue for us right now. We have other priorities at the moment, and that's why the Sancho issue may have been more talked about in the media than internally.' More Trending United hope to offload Sancho with permanent exits also being sought for Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Antony. Rashford and Antony spent the second half of last season out on loan at Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively while Garnacho may have sealed his own exit after publicly criticising Ruben Amorim following the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham. United will begin their preseason with a tour of the United States next month with Amorim making the decision axe Sancho, Rashford, Antony and Garnacho from the squad heading to Stade-side. Should Man Utd say 'thanks but no thanks' to Gyokeres?
Following recent rumours that Viktor Gyokeres has 'threatened to go on strike' to secure a move away from Sporting CP, we asked you if this behaviour would put you off signing him for Manchester are some of your comments:Stuart: United have had too many prima donnas recently who have disrupted the changing room. The last thing they need is another one, so I'd say 'thanks but no thanks' to his Too much player power and holding clubs to ransom, but if there was a gentleman's agreement between Sporting and Gyokeres then the chairman should uphold his side of the bargain and not try to squeeze more money out of the interested So we force players like Rashford and Sancho out of the club because of their diva like attitudes yet we are willing to spend £50m+ to sign a player who is threatening to throw his toys out of the pram? I would stay well clear if I was running I believe he was persuaded to stay last season on the 'gentleman's understanding' that he could leave for a lower fee than his release clause. If that is the case, and it is the club that are not honouring what they said, then why shouldn't he play hardball with them. What is he supposed to do? Just sit back and accept the club going back on their word? Yes, some players come across as unreasonable and arrogant, but this isn't the case Attitude is of course important - but it's not a fixed thing and can be coached. Two players spring to mind who were both feisty and had short fuses when they first arrived at the club - many times I had my head in my hands as they kicked off over some minor misdemeanour- their names were Rooney and Leave him alone. He's supposed to be a professional with a professional contract. If his agent failed to include a release clause set at a price that would interest top clubs that's down to the agent and himself. Footballers are only too happy to accept their contracts at the time. A contract is a contract.
