READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME Sets Release Date and First Look at Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton — GeekTyrant
Searchlight Pictures has officially wrapped production on the highly anticipated horror-comedy sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come , and we've got our first peek at what's to come. A behind-the-scenes image and video have dropped, showing returning scream queen Samara Weaving, bloodied, of course, handcuffed to newcomer Kathryn Newton ( Abigail, Freaky ). The sequel is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2026, and the BTS looks shows that Grace (Weaving) is once again be dragged into another nightmarish game of survival, this time, tethered to someone else. Newton's role hasn't been revealed yet, but judging by that handcuff, these two are going to be in it together, whether they like it or not. The film is being helmed once again by Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who are fresh off their work on Scream and Abigail. The screenplay comes from Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, the same creative team that gave the original Ready or Not its razor-sharp bite. The movie also stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, along withDavid Cronenberg and Elijah Wood . The first Ready or Not followed Grace, who marries into the ultra-rich Le Domas family, only to discover their wedding night includes a 'play-or-die' tradition, thanks to a deal with the Devil. Grace survives the night, while her in-laws don't. They explode. It was amazing! Now the big question is… how does Grace get pulled back in? And will this sequel dig deeper into the creepy cult mythology around Mr. Le Bail? With Grace still alive, there's clearly unfinished business. Ready or Not 2 wraps filming, gets 2026 release date
The much-awaited sequel to the hit 2019 horror-thriller Ready or Not—Ready or Not 2: Here I come is scheduled for a release in theatres on April 10, 2026, announced Searchlight Pictures. The film whose principal photography began in April in Toronto, has now wrapped filming. Samara Weaving reprises her role as Grace from the original film. She will star alongside Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, David Cronenberg and Elijah Wood. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, along with writers Guy Busick and R Christopher Murphy are returning for the sequel. Andrew Stearn, Brett Jutkiewicz and Avery Plewes are also coming back to the team as Production designer, director of photography and costume designer respectively.

A large portion of the 'Ready or Not' creative team is returning for the follow-up, including writers Guy Busick and R. Additionally, making a comeback are production designer Andrew Stearn ('The Umbrella Academy'), director of photography Brett Jutkiewicz ('Scream'). Filming Wrapped, Plot Under Wraps Searchlight declared today that the sequel's principal photography is complete, having started in Toronto in April. Details of the plot are kept secret. Producers Bradley J. Fischer, William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Tripp Vinson are involved. The sequel to 2019's horror hit, titled Ready or Not 2: Here I Come , is set to open in theatres on 10 April 2026 after wrapping production, which began earlier in April. Plot details remain under lock and key, but Weaving will step back into the shoes of Grace in the upcoming feature.
