Warrington Wolves boss makes Tom Whitehead admission and recruitment hint
Tom Whitehead is the subject of interest from Hull KR but will spend the next month on loan at Salford Red Devils (Image: Allan McKenzie/ SAM Burgess has admitted that, while he values him highly as a player, he may have to let Tom Whitehead leave Warrington Wolves. The loose forward is the subject of strong interest from Super League leaders and Challenge Cup winners Hull KR, who are believed to have had a transfer bid accepted for his services. Advertisement Whitehead's immediate future lies at Salford Red Devils, with the 22-year-old having joined Super League's bottom club on a four-week loan alongside teammate Dan Russell as part of the deal that brought Sam Stone to Warrington. Longer-term, however, the academy graduate's future appears to lie elsewhere despite him being under contract with The Wire until the end of next year. Having progressed through the club's academy, Whitehead has made 11 first-team appearances – two of which have come this season – while he has also spent several spells out on loan. This season alone, he has turned out for London Broncos, Keighley Cougars and Halifax Panthers as well as the Wire reserves but a more permanent departure looks to be in the offing after Burgess admitted he currently struggles to see a path to more regular first-team opportunities for him at The Halliwell Jones Stadium. Read more Sam Burgess responds to Sam Stone criticism with Rowley comments addressed Advertisement Devastating Lindop injury news confirmed as Burgess reveals fresh concern Two ticket offers for Warrington Wolves' next home game 'I love Tommy and he's such a great player. I don't know what's out there but I know he's got some interest from other clubs,' he said. 'We value Tommy – he's been at the club since he was 14 and he's a good lad to have around, but sometimes these opportunities can be good for players. 'He's behind a couple of players at 13 here so if opportunities do arise for him, he'll take them. 'We do value him and he's a great lad but we've been pretty open about everything with him. Advertisement 'He's at Salford for a month and it will be good for him to get some game time. We've been trying to find that time for him all year but we've not had enough opportunity for him.' Burgess also had his say on the departure of off-season recruit Russell, who will spend the remainder of the season at Salford having played 10 times for Warrington this season. 'It's given him the opportunity to play a bit of first-team. It seemed like the right fit,' the Wire boss said of the back-rower. 'We'll get to see him over a long period of time, which will be good for Dan.' Sam Burgess open to more Warrington Wolves recruitment Stone is the second player Warrington have signed from Salford in-season, with scrum-half Marc Sneyd having made the move in March. Advertisement And although he played down the prospect of anything immediate, Burgess hinted he may not be the last mid-season recruit to arrive. Clubs have until August 1 to add players to their ranks immediately and the Wolves head coach has left the possibility of more arrivals on the table. 'I don't know yet. We've still got a little bit of space so we'll see,' he said when asked about the prospect of further recruitment. 'We're keeping everything open, really. With the way things are going for us this year, we're staying versatile. 'We're not actively looking but there is an opportunity if something arises for us.'

Phoebe Burgess chases $2.25 million payout for her Southern Highlands property - as she lists it for sale after renting it out at $995 a week
Phoebe Burgess has finally set a price guide for her Southern Highlands home which was listed online this week as 'coming soon' by Ray White Bowral. The former rugby WAG, 36, purchased the rural property for $1.7 million in 2021, using the proceeds from her bitter and public divorce from footy star Sam Burgess. Now, the mother-of-two has high hopes of raking in $2.25 million for the house after previously renting it out for $995 a week, reported on Thursday. The Burradoo estate, called Acre Hill, has been listed by Ray White agents Charlotte and Hugh Hanrahan, and has already garnered 1,600 page views online. Phoebe and her two children Poppy, eight, and Billie, six, never officially lived in the house, according to the Daily Telegraph. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Instead, she has remained at her parents' nearby property, with the home leased for 'about a year', according to the publication. Phoebe's Mediterranean-style home is set on a tranquil 6,949 square metres and is described as a 'garden sanctuary'. Set at the end of a private road, the two-storey home features a generous four bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a separate 'powder room'. It also boasts a slow-combustion wood fire, which adds to the homely atmosphere, as well as a home office and separate TV room downstairs. The picturesque grounds also feature a chicken coop and greenhouse, plus irrigation throughout the gardens. Since splitting from former Rabbitohs captain Sam in October 2019, Phoebe and her two children have resided with her parents. She grew up at the property with her parents Mitch and Sarah Hooke, and sisters Jemima and Harriet, just a stone's throw from her Acre Hill property. She told Daily Mail Australia at the time the move back to her parental home was one of the best decisions she's made for her two children. 'I learned really early on that there's a trade-off. My kids love the space,' she said. 'Billy has an electric bike, and dad's just made him a cool track out in mum's horse arena of jumps... Poppy just loves going outside and being creative.' It comes as Phoebe's ex Sam revealed he's expecting a second child with wife Lucy. Taking to Instagram in April, Lucy shared the news by showing off her growing baby bump in a series of photos from the couple's holiday in Capri. The pair already share daughter Robbie, who they welcomed in September 2023. Sam married Lucy in a lavish Italian wedding after two years of dating. He proposed to his bride in June 2023, just nine months after they went public with their relationship. Meanwhile, Phoebe and Sam split in October 2019, after four tumultuous years of marriage. They initially separated in December 2018 - shortly after the birth of their son Billy - but reconciled in April that year, only to end things for good six months later.

Phoebe Burgess doesn't look like this anymore! Former NRL WAG unveils shock transformation as she uses popular beauty trend

The former NRL WAG, 36, shared several images and videos to Instagram showing off a glamorous transformation as she had her makeup professionally done. She also rocked a shimmering, light smoky eye with dark liner along her waterline - a far cry from the natural makeup look Phoebe usually rocks. To finish off the glamorous transformation, Phoebe then opted for a darker tan.
