Case booked against YSRCP leader Ambati in incidents related to Jagan's visit to Sattenapalli
GUNTUR: Police have registered cases against senior YSRCP leaders, including former minister Ambati Rambabu, in connection with recent incidents surrounding former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's visit to Sattenapalli, and party State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy for allegedly making derogatory comments against Amaravati women protesters. Ambati is facing charges for violating prohibitory orders, and obstructing police from discharging their duties during Jagan's visit to Rentapalla on June 18. According to police, Ambati, along with his brother Murali, allegedly broke through barricades at Korrapadu, engaged in heated exchanges with police, and even manhandled personnel on duty. Cases have been registered against him at Nallapadu, Old Guntur, and Sattenapalli Rural police stations under IPC Sections 188, 332, 353 and 427. In a separate case, Sajjala has been booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 79, 352, 353(2), and 196(1) at Tadepalli police station. According to sources, Sajjala has approached the AP High Court seeking anticipatory bail. YSRCP book exposes NDA government's ‘betrayal' of promises
VIJAYAWADA: YSRCP State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, alongside senior leaders, released a book documenting the 'failures' of the TDP-led NDA government in the past one year at the party central office in Tadepalli on Thursday. Speaking to the media, Sajjala accused the coalition government of pushing the State into 'dark days' through broken promises, oppressive governance, and systematic destruction. 'Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's rule stands for deceit, while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's legacy represents trust,' Sajjala said, contrasting the current administration with the YSRCP's governance, which he said laid the foundation for a golden future. The YSRCP termed the NDA's one year rule a 'betrayal' of Andhra Pradesh's five crore people. The book exposes the one year 'misrule' of NDA, from stifling dissent with 'Red Book Constitution' to filing 'false' cases through 'misuse' of police, fostering corruption, and dismantling the progress achieved during the previous YSRCP regime. Sajjala highlighted that 1.3 lakh government jobs were created, 17 new medical colleges and four ports were taken up during the previous regime, and the systemic reforms and achievements during 2019-24 were unmatched in the State's history.

Andhra Pradesh high court grants interim relief to Sajjala
Vijayawada: The high court on Thursday directed the police not to take coercive steps against YSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, if any case was registered against him pursuant to the letter written by assembly deputy speaker K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju to the DGP. The deputy speaker had lodged a formal complaint by writing a letter to the DGP, requesting to register a case against Sajjala for his derogatory comments on women protesters during a recent press conference. Apprehending arrest, Sajjala moved a lunch motion petition in the high court seeking anticipatory bail and sought an urgent hearing. Arguing on his behalf, senior counsel Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy read out the transcript of what Sajjala spoke at the press conference. He stated that there was nothing in his comments that was offensive other than expressing anguish over the things happening in the state. Registering a crime for expressing an opinion is nothing but taking away the constitutional rights provided under Article 19(1), he argued. Raising objection over the maintainability of the petition, public prosecutor Menda Lakshminarayana said the petition was filed with the assumption based on a letter written by the deputy speaker. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Bu bankalar başvuran herkese kredi kartı veriyor mu? In the absence of registration of a crime, the petition for anticipatory bail based on mere assumptions is premature and is not maintainable, he stated. Sudhakar Reddy cited judgements of the Supreme Court in support of his arguments and said anticipatory bail can be sought even without the registration of an FIR. He said there is a likelihood of registration of an FIR based on the deputy speaker's letter to the DGP and sought the intervention of the high court for protection from arrest. Lakshminarayana argued that without there being any information from the authorities concerned, there cannot be a judicial order in a petition filed based on presumptions. Considering the arguments, Justice TCD Sekhar directed the police to respond in the matter and asked not to take coercive steps against Sajjala till then. The matter was posted for further hearing to June 18. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here . Police excesses reflected organised crime: YSRCP coordinator Sajjala
VIJAYAWADA: YSRCP State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy lashed out at the TDP-led NDA government, alleging that a section of police officers was functioning like a private army of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. An organised crime gang was created within the police system, causing grave harm to the State's law and order machinery, he said. Speaking to mediapersons on Saturday, after visiting Lakshminarayana, a YSRCP activist, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Guntur after attempting suicide, Sajjala demanded strict action against the DSP, who harassed him. He also demanded that a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge be conducted into the incident. He said complaints against the State-sponsored violence would be submitted to the President of India, and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). He said Andhra Pradesh was now witnessing a far worse situation that prevailed once in Uttar Pradesh, with unchecked police actions pushing it towards institutional collapse. Sajjala detailed how Lakshminarayana, a businessman and party activist, was summoned by the DSP on the pretext of a panchayat, verbally abused in the name of caste, and humiliated for his political affiliation. The emotional distress led him to attempt suicide, and he is now battling for life, Sajjala said.

RBC is being implemented in AP, says Sajjala
Nellore: YSR Congress Political Action Committee (PAC) coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has alleged that TDP-led coalition government headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was responsible in creating terror through implementation of its 'Red Book Constitution' (RBC) in the State. Sajjala visited party district president and former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, who has been in Nellore central prison experiencing as under trailer, on Saturday. Speaking to the media, the YSRCP leader has pointed out that the recent series of arrests of his party leaders including Kesineni Vamsi, Nandigam Suresh, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, suggests the State is under 'police' control' due to implementation of RCB. 'If the same situation continues for some time, it will be highly difficult to restore normalcy. Even CM Naidu may have to taste bitter experience with police in coming days.' Recalling the incident where police trashed three people in public with lathis, he said jungle justice is being run under influence of RCB. When asked about the cases booked against YSRCP leaders and officials for their involvement, Sajjala replied that they are not against registering cases, but there should be documentary evidence and proper investigation before making arrests. 'Earlier Chandrababu Naidu was arrested based on complaints lodged by the Central government related to Goods Service Tax (GST), while Atchannaidu was arrested on corruption charges with documentary proofs. But arrests of YSRCP leaders are entirely different just based on confessed statements taken from unknown persons' he stated. He also said that cases like explosives, and SC/ST atrocities registered against Kakani Govardhan Reddy totally influenced and fabricated, the YSRCP leader predicted that cases were not withstand legally. aThe YSRCP leader has determined that his party leaders who were facing illegal arrests will become more strengthened after coming out from jail. ' There is no question of compromise in that aspect' he said.
