Father-Son Siphon Off Rs 64 Lakh From Indore Court' Bank Account, Arrested

Indore: Police have arrested an IT expert and his father who allegedly siphoned off Rs 64 lakh from the bank account of an Indore district court and spent it on foreign trips and buying expensive mobile phones, an official said. Sahil Rangrez (26) and his father Sajid Sattar (57) were arrested on Tuesday from Valsad in Gujarat based on the evidence found during investigation in the case, he said. An FIR was recently registered against them for fraudulently withdrawing Rs 64.05 lakh from the bank account of an additional district judge court between March 5 and June 11, Indore's Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotia said on Tuesday. The mobile number linked to the court's bank account had become inactive due to non-recharge, and the telecom company concerned allotted this number to Sajid after about two years, he said. "After getting this mobile number, Sajid started getting SMSes about government transactions from the court's bank account. When he shared this with his IT expert son Sahil, he misused the mobile number and got the password to make online payments through the court's bank account. This way, he started withdrawing money from the court's bank account," Dandotia said. "During the initial investigation, we have come to know that the father-son duo spent the money obtained through this online fraud on buying expensive mobile phones and booking an expensive car as well as on foreign trips, health treatment and repair of an old flat," he said. The police are investigating the matter in detail, the official added.

NIA Raids Multiple Locations In Rajasthan, MP In Connection With Terror Conspiracy Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted raids at multiple locations in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in connection with a terror conspiracy case related to the banned terrorist outfit Hizb-Ut-Tahrir (HUT). The agency carried out searches at two locations in Jhalawar (Rajasthan) and three in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) as part of an ongoing investigation into HUT's radical activities. In Jhalawar, the NIA raided a house in Kazi Chowk and a shop near Jama Masjid. According to police officials, local police were present during the NIA's operation. The agency reportedly recovered several digital devices, which have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for data recovery and further analysis. According to the NIA, the Hizb-Ut-Tahrir is a banned terrorist outfit, proscribed by the Indian government in 1953. The Ministry of Home Affairs declared the organisation illegal, stating that it was actively involved in radicalising Indian citizens and recruiting them for ISIS, under the guise of jihad. The organisation is also accused of raising funds to support terrorist activities. The agency had received credible inputs suggesting that individuals residing in Bhopal and Jhalawar were in prolonged contact with members of this outlawed organisation. Acting on this intelligence, NIA teams launched simultaneous raids starting at around 4.30 a.m., which continued till 11 a.m. on Saturday. During the searches, digital evidence was seized, and data recovery is currently underway. Further action will be taken based on the forensic analysis. An NIA spokesperson said, 'The agency is continuously monitoring the activities of HUT and its associates. Our investigations revealed that a significant number of individuals are linked to the group from three sites in Bhopal and two in Jhalawar. The raids were conducted accordingly, and digital devices have been sent for forensic examination.' The NIA further stated that radical networks like HUT are attempting to incite violence and destabilize the country by targeting vulnerable Muslim youth. The outfit reportedly aimed to radicalize young minds to overthrow the democratically elected government and establish an Islamic state governed by Sharia law. Earlier, around 10 days ago, the NIA had detained a suspect named Mohsin from the Ashoka Garden area of Bhopal, based on suspicions of his involvement in anti-national activities. During questioning, actionable intelligence led to further action against another individual, Sajid, in Manoharthana town of Jhalawar. The NIA's ongoing operations underscore the agency's commitment to dismantling radical outfits and preventing the spread of extremist ideologies within the country.

Newlywed couple commits suicide by jumping before train over honeymoon money

Gulf Today Report A newlywed couple committed suicide by jumping in front of a train after not receiving money for their honeymoon in Pakistani city of Faisalabad, police said on Wednesday. Police said Sajid, a 34-year-old power loom worker and resident of 202 Rab Bhaiwala Adeel Town in the jurisdiction of Millat Town Police Station, Faisalabad, had married Razia about two and a half months ago. The couple had planned to go to Naran, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, for their honeymoon after Eid Al Adha. Sajid asked his elder brothers, Fahad and Zahid, for money, but they were unable to arrange any funds. Early on Tuesday morning, Sajid left home with his 30-year-old wife, Razia Bibi, and went to the Bhaiwala railway crossing near Chairman Stop in Faisalabad district of Punjab. He called his brother Zahid and told him, "I am going to commit suicide with my wife. Come and collect our bodies." After the phone call, Sajid and his wife lay down on the railway tracks. At that moment, the Badr Express train heading from Lahore to Karachi arrived and both husband and wife committed suicide by coming under the train. They died on the spot as their heads were severed from their bodies. Upon seeing the bodies on the railway track, Sajid's elder brother Zahid reached the site and, with the help of passersby, collected their remains. Passersby informed the police. Soon after receiving the report, a Millat Town police team arrived at the scene and, after completing legal formalities, handed the bodies over to the family. Police further revealed that Sajid made a final phone call to Zahid from the railway tracks. Despite his brother's efforts to stop him, Sajid ended the call and lay down on tracks with his wife. Authorities have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case. Police said that the brother of deceased Sajid informed the police on phone about the incident. Millat Town police registered a case and started its investigation to determine real purpose behind the suicide. Police said the deceased worked at a power loom and had married Razia Bibi two and a half months ago. The couple took their own lives after becoming disheartened when Sajid's brothers could not provide the money they had requested for the honeymoon. Neighbours said that just 15 days after the marriage, the couple was forced to live separately by their families.
