SacRT employee allegedly stabs boy during fight at Rancho Cordova bus station, deputies say
A boy is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed by a Sacramento Regional Transit employee on Thursday, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies responded to the SacRT station off Mills Station Road, near Folsom Boulevard and Mather Field Road, in Rancho Cordova for a stabbing sometime around 5 p.m. An investigation revealed that a juvenile boy and his girlfriend were on a bus and began vaping, deputies said. A SacRT employee told them to stop vaping and the couple eventually got off the bus at the station. While off the bus, the SacRT employee and the boy got into a physical fight and the employee allegedly stabbed the boy, deputies said. The boy was taken to the hospital with what deputies said were life-threatening injuries. The employee has been detained. CBS Sacramento has reached out to SacRT for a statement.

Pride weekend street closures begin, here's what to expect
( — As the community prepares to celebrate Pride Month this weekend, the streets of Sacramento are preparing for the large crowds they expect to draw in, according to the City of Sacramento. Video Above: History of Pride Month The two-day event, hosted by the Sacramento LGBTQ Community Center, kicks off with a festival on Capitol Mall, running from June 14 to June 15, along with a march at Southside Park on Sunday. Preparations for street closures began on Wednesday at 5 p.m. as organizers set up fencing and equipment along Capitol Mall, officials said. Throughout the weekend, until Monday at 8 a.m., the following streets will be closed: Capitol Mall from 3rd to 7th streets 4th Street from L Street to N Street 5th Street from L Street to N Street 6th Street from L Street to Capitol Mall Meanwhile, the following streets will be closed on Sunday for the Pride March: 8th Street from W to T streets T Street from 8th to 10th streets 10th Street from T Street to Capitol Mall Capitol Mall from 9th to 10th streets From 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, SacRT is providing free rides on fixed-route buses and light rail. Those looking for a free ride must provide a physical copy or screenshot of the following flyer to the SacRT driver. Only one flyer is needed per group, officials said. Sacramento RT light rail train struck by vehicle in Folsom
An investigation is underway after a light rail train was struck by a vehicle in Folsom on Monday morning. Folsom police say the crash happened around 9 a.m. near Folsom Boulevard and Blue Ravine Road. Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear. Officers say the driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries. No other injuries, including to people on board the train, were reported, police say. SacRT has issued a service disruption alert for people trying to get between Historic Folsom and Sunrise along the Gold Line. A bus bridge is in place.

2 SacRT light rail lines disrupted after pedestrian hit, killed by train
SACRAMENTO – Two Sacramento Regional Transit lines were disrupted after a person was hit and killed by the train on Wednesday evening. SacRT says the collision happened at the 29th Street light rail station and that the Sacramento Police Department is at the scene investigating. The police department said the collision happened just after 5:45 p.m. The collision has impacted the Gold and Blue lines. A bus is shuttling between Broadway and Cathedral Square on the Blue Line, while a shuttle system is in place between Sacramento Valley and Power Inn stations for the Gold Line. No other injuries were reported. Riders can use the Alert SacRT app for service updates.

SacRT receives award for Bus Stop Enforcement Program
( — The American Public Transportation Association awarded the Sacramento Regional Transit District a prestigious Gold Award for public safety for its Bus Stop Enforcement Program, SacRT said. With the use of AI-powered camera technology, vehicles illegally parked in bus stops are detected, helping keep bus zones clear to create a safer environment for boarding passengers, said SacRT said. Meadowview Certified Farmers Market reopening announced 'Building on the program's success, enforcement was recently extended to bike lanes,' SacRT officials said. 'As of April 14, 2025, warning notices are being issued to vehicles blocking bike lanes, with citations to follow beginning June 13, 2025.'
