Jurassic World Evolution 3 preview: baby dinosaurs go global

GameCentral gets a hands-off demonstration of the next Jurassic World Evolution, which is shaping up to be the most in-depth dinosaur sim yet. The Jurassic Park franchise might be past its glory years in terms of enjoyable blockbuster movies, but it's a different story in video games. Jurassic Park: Survival from Saber Interactive looks pretty promising based on its first trailer, and in 2021 we saw the best interactive adaptation of the series to date in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Developed by Frontier, the sequel refined and expanded on the original dinosaur park management sim from 2018, with plenty of nods to the movies. If you're unfamiliar, it's essentially RollerCoaster Tycoon spun through a Jurassic Park lens, where you build a park, manage the happiness of both dinosaurs and guests, and try to avoid causing a velociraptor outbreak in the middle of piling up profits. As revealed earlier this week, Frontier is developing another sequel which will launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on October 21. Jurassic World Evolution 2 had some drawbacks, most notably in its thin campaign mode, but the improvements in this third entry are more robust and widespread than you might expect. In a hands-off preview session, Frontier debuted several new features in Jurassic World Evolution 3. The biggest, at least on the adorable scale, is the addition of baby dinosaurs. You can breed these through nests, either by creating a comfortable environment for your adult dinosaurs and hoping for the best or, if you're too impatient to wait for natural horniness to strike, setting up a breeding programme led by some dork scientists. On the surface, this might seem like a cutesy marketing ploy to hook those susceptible to the sight of a baby Triceratops. However, mechanically, it comes with some surprising depth. There's an entire system based around passing down traits of dinosaurs to their offspring, which you can modify and dictate via the breeding programme route. Each dinosaur also has a fertility scale, which naturally fluctuates with age, so you have to strategise when is the best time to endorse dino bonking season. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. The benefits of fostering baby dinosaurs will have a long-term impact on your park too. If you can maintain a family lineage of dinosaurs within the park, this will lead to extra bonuses and profits as a valued attraction among guests. In a neat additional detail, you'll have to adapt your enclosure around them too. In the preview, the example highlighted was a baby long-necked Sauropod, which might require a raised platform to munch leaves off the high trees like its parents. Beyond babies, the other striking improvement is the maps themselves. There's a stronger global focus, with Japan and China among the locations, alongside destinations across Europe and the US. The maps have a greater sense of verticality too, with rock formations and sloping water features you can build around, which all look impressively detailed. More Trending This plays into the expanded customisation tools for creating parks. At the brush of a cursor, you can alter the terrain on the fly, whether carving out canyons, implementing waterfalls and having the water trickle down sandy slopes, or applying a rocky texture to create an organic quality around your enclosures. It looks intuitively designed, easy to execute, and makes creating actual parks look far more enticing and versatile overall. In general, Jurassic World Evolution 3 is trying to become a stronger creative sandbox you'll want to mess around with. You can now design buildings right down to the specific angles of tiles, colours, and blocks, or alter presets with personal flourishes, like a T-Rex skeleton looming over the doorway or themes inspired by the movies. Better yet, these creations can be shared with others through the Frontier Workshop, so if you're lazy or creatively stunted, you can apply the designs of others into your park or visit other people's for inspiration. If you're more into the chaos management side, Frontier teased a new campaign, although it didn't show any footage from it. However, the story will take place after the last film, Jurassic World Dominion, and will task you with trying to integrate dinosaurs at various maps around the world, under the guidance of Jeff Goldblum's Dr Ian Malcolm. The campaigns in previous games have been little more than a glorified tutorial, but this sounds like it will be more substantial in scope. The developers at Frontier concluded the preview with a spinosaurus swimming out into a bed of water, created using the expanded terrain tools. The confirmation of semi-aquatic dinosaurs might be a small reveal to outsiders, but it's representative of what's promised with Jurassic World Evolution 3 – a sequel where every addition deepens the greater whole. We'll have to play it ourselves to see how the new aspects come together, but based on this early look, this is easily the most promising reason to stay invested in Jurassic Park. Jurassic World Evolution 3 lets you breed dinosaurs and it's out this year

A new entry in the Jurassic World Evolution series has been announced, with baby dinosaurs and the return of Jeff Goldblum. While there have been plenty of games based on Jurassic Park over the years, the best is easily its translation into a management sim in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Developed by Frontier, the series is basically RollerCoaster Tycoon spun through a Jurassic Park lens, where you have to build a park and keep profits ticking over, while managing the satisfaction of customers and the dinosaurs themselves. During Summer Game Fest, Frontier announced a third entry in the series, and the key hook this time around is the ability to breed and nurture baby dinosaurs. As shown in the trailer, Jurassic World Evolution 3 boasts a new breeding system which allows you to house families of dinosaurs within your park. There are over 80 dinosaur species in the sequel, 75 of which players can breed. The sequel promises a new globe-trotting campaign, with maps spanning from Japan to Hawaii. Jeff Goldblum reprises his role as Dr Ian Malcolm too, after lending his voice to the prior two instalments. There's no word though on whether anyone else from the franchise will return. As noted in a press release, Jurassic World Evolution 3 features expanded customisation for your parks, with new terrain tools to create mountain peaks and canyons, while texture brushes can help you add extra detail to landscapes. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. For the first time in the series, you can share your parks, dinosaur enclosures, and scenery creations with others via the cross-platform Frontier Workshop. More Trending Jurassic World Evolution 3 is set to launch on October 21 across PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S for £49.99. A deluxe edition, which includes four extra dinosaurs (Protoceratops, Guanlong, Thanatosdrakon, and Concavenator), scenery items, and exclusive ATV vehicle skins, will be available for £64.99. If you pre-order the sequel, players will receive a Badlands set at launch which includes scenery items inspired by the original Jurassic Park's dig site, along with scenery blueprints from the Montana Badlands, and a Badlands ATV skin for the maintenance crew. This isn't the only Jurassic Park game in development, with Jurassic Park: Survival also in the works at Saber Interactive. A new film, titled Jurassic World: Rebirth, is set to hit cinemas on July 2, 2025. Email gamecentral@ leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter. Does RoadCraft support cross-platform play?

(Image via Focus Entertainment) RoadCraft , one of the highly anticipated simulation games, finally released on May 20, 2025. With it, the game has brought a mix of cooperative gameplay and heavy machinery action. It will challenge the players with strategic fleet management and rugged terrain. Despite it all, the one question that remains among the players is whether they can play the game cross-platform. Here is all we know and what you can expect in-game. Is RoadCraft cross-platform available? RoadCraft does support cross-platform play. It means that the Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5 players can easily team up. The feature is not surprising, considering that the previous titles of Saber Interactive Games , like Expeditions: A MudRunner Game and SnowRunner, also had crossplay support. Roadcraft How to cross-platform multiplayer The key difference now is the shared progression. This means that if you play co-op with a friend, the progress will be carried over if you shift back to solo-play, whether you are the host or are just joining the session. It will eliminate frustration related to replaying the missions to keep up with the squad. Additionally, starting the new save file would mean resetting the unlocked vehicles. So, make a wiser playstyle. Is there RoadCraft cross-progression available? While playing with friends across varied platforms is an option that's available, the saved files will not transfer between the platforms. The limitation has been confirmed by Saber Interactive , citing it to be the technical restrictions with the PROS system, which now struggles to transfer the larger files across the platforms. So, unlike the SnowRunner game, which allows saving and transferring the game, RoadCraft, for now, just locks the progress to the platform the player begins on. It means if you switch to Xbox from PlayStation, you will have to restart right from scratch. The developers have not ruled out adding cross-progression in future updates, but as of now, the players must stick to the preferred platform and avoid losing progress. The blend of RoadCraft's cross-platform flexibility and the platform-specific progression helps to create a nuanced multiplayer experience. The teams can collaborate here freely. But the individual journeys are anchored to the starting point. With locations to cover and a customizable fleet alongside cooperative challenges, RoadCraft perfectly balances social play with strategic commitment. Just pick the platform, gather the crew, and start to rebuild, taking on and shaping the road ahead of you. Horror game abruptly removed from sale: ‘Ridiculous that this happens'

PC Gamer reports how Evil Dead: The Game – which, yes, is indeed a video game based on the iconic Evil Dead franchise – suddenly disappeared this week from the Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store. — Saber Interactive Plenty of people certainly don't find this groovy. A multiplayer horror game was abruptly pulled from sale the other day. And its publisher still hasn't given a reason as to why. PC Gamer reports how Evil Dead: The Game – which, yes, is indeed a video game based on the iconic Evil Dead franchise – suddenly disappeared this week from the Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store. The game – which was only just launched three years ago – then disappeared from Steam, too. A statement from publisher Saber Interactive posted to the platform explains that, even though people won't be able to buy it any more, those who have already purchased Evil Dead: The Game will still be able to play it 'as we plan to keep our servers online for everyone.' According to its Steam summary, Evil Dead: The Game lets players 'Step into the shoes of Ash Williams or his friends … in a game loaded with over-the-top co-op & PVP multiplayer action!' Many players online speculated that this sudden delisting was the result of expensive movie IP rights; others believe Evil Dead: The Game had been dead on arrival. A lot, however, are sad to see the silly goose time end. 'Sigh, this is why I don't buy the movie games,' reads one Reddit comment at the news. 'It's ridiculous that this happens.' 'A shame, this game really looked exactly how I wanted an Evil Dead game to look and the gameplay loop was fun,' reads another. 'The team that made this really should've made it into a single-player game instead … of trying to capitalised on Dead by Daylight's success.' Saber Interactive still hasn't provided a full reason for Evil Dead: The Game getting delisted as of the publishing of this report. – News Service
