KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Maju Jaya is not just a slogan - unity and sincerity must come first, said Her Royal Highness Paduka Puteri Tunku Mariamz during her visit to the Sabah Economic Development Corporation (Sedco) headquarters. Tunku Mariamz was briefed on Sedco's role in driving Sabah's socio-economic progress through its involvement in key sectors such as mining, real estate, hospitality, and entrepreneurship.
Advertisement She congratulated Datuk James Wong Kein Peng on his appointment as Sedco's new Group General Manager and met with senior management representatives from its subsidiaries. During the engagement, Tunku Mariamz endorsed Sedco's upcoming Bumiputera Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment Programme, calling for efficient, inclusive training to support local entrepreneurs. She also urged Sedco to ensure that investments lead to tangible benefits for the people, citing digital commerce and global trade as key growth areas. On environmental matters, she raised concerns about unsustainable development and stressed the need to promote Sabah's natural and cultural assets through film and digital storytelling.
