Youth rally sparks concern over disruptive behaviour

Published on: Mon, Jun 23, 2025 Text Size: KOTA KINABALU: A youth-led assembly over the weekend drew concern after several participants engaged in actions that were deemed excessive and Sabah Community Club Deputy President Steve Johnny Mositun ( pic ) said while freedom of expression is a democratic right, the conduct of a few individuals unsettled members of the public. He criticised the burning of posters during the rally, calling it culturally inappropriate and damaging to Sabah's image as a harmonious state. Steve added the incident disrupted public order, caused traffic congestion, and hurt local businesses while potentially affecting tourist confidence.
