Andhra Pradesh LAW Common Entrance Test 2025, PGLCET results released

TIRUPATI: The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), the convening university for AP LAWCET and PGLCET 2025, declared the results of the entrance exams for 2-year LLM, 3-year LLB, and 5-year integrated LLB courses on Thursday. The exams were conducted across the state on June 5. The results were announced in Tirupati during an online event presided over by Prof. K Madhu Murthy, Chairman of the Higher Education Department, with LAWCET Convenor Prof. T Sita Kumari and SPMVV V-C Prof. Uma Vennam also in attendance. Out of 27,253 candidates who registered for the law entrance tests, 21,251 appeared and 20,826 qualified, marking an impressive pass percentage of 98. Women dominated the top ranks in all categories, reflecting their rising academic success in legal education. In a significant step for inclusivity, two transgender candidates who appeared for the 3-year LAWCET exam successfully qualified. Among the top achievers, students from the combined Prakasam district stood out in the PGLCET stream. Bysani Haritha Sri from Addanki secured the state first rank with 113 marks. A former student of Siddhartha Law College, Vijayawada, Haritha aspires to become an IAS officer. She studied in Addanki and later graduated from NTR Trust Junior and Degree College, Hyderabad. Korsapati Prashanth from Gandhi Nagar, Ongole, secured the third rank in PGLCET with 108 marks. A law graduate from Dr BR Ambedkar Law College, AU Campus, Prashanth hails from Gonugunta village in Chimakurthy mandal. Orphaned at a young age, he now lives with his sister's family in Ongole and aims to become an advocate focused on helping the underprivileged.

SPMVV hosts seminar to boost early childhood edn for SL teachers

Tirupati: Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), Tirupati, in partnership with the Rashtriya Seva Samithi (RASS), hosted a one-day faculty seminar titled 'Child Development for Preschool Teachers of Sri Lanka,' on Tuesday aimed at enhancing international academic collaboration and strengthening early childhood education practices. Organised by the Centre for International Relations at SPMVV, the seminar brought together education leaders from India and Sri Lanka to share best practices and innovative strategies in early childhood education. Addressing the gathering, SPMVV Vice Chancellor Prof V Uma underlined the crucial role of foundational education in shaping the future of children aged 1 to 6 years. 'Early childhood education is not just about teaching, it is about transforming lives during the most sensitive and formative years,' she noted. Executive Director of HEFCYE, Sri Lanka Province KMMWB GalKaduwa lauded India's cultural and linguistic richness and thanked SPMVV for hosting the seminar. 'This experience will empower our teachers with valuable insights and modern pedagogical practices,' he said. RASS Project Officer Ramesh Reddy outlined the broader training programme for the Sri Lankan delegation, which includes sessions at multiple locations in the State until June 21. In a technical session, SPMVV Registrar Prof N Rajini stressed the importance of maintaining a balanced approach to screen time in young learners, ensuring that digital tools support rather than hinder developmental goals. Dean of the Centre for International Relations Prof P Vijaya Lakshmi, Prof T Amudhavalli and Prof T Seetha Kumari also spoke on the occasion. Prof R Usha, Prof T Sobharani, Dr U Himabindu, and Dr Sirisha were also present.

Tirupati: Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) Vice-Chancellor Prof V Uma has announced that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of entrance examinations for admission into Law courses across various universities in the State. Addressing the media on Saturday, she said the university has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test (AP LAWCET) and the Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test (AP PGLCET) on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The Common Entrance Test is scheduled for June 5, from 9 am to 10.30 am, with Prof T Sita Kumari serving as the Convenor. A total of 27,253 candidates have applied to appear for the exams, which will be conducted at 133 test centres across the State. Of the total applicants, 19,973 have registered for the 3-Year LLB programme, 4,794 for the 5-Year LLB course, and 2,486 for the LLM programme under PGLCET. Gender-wise, 17,983 candidates are male, 9,269 are female, and one transgender candidate has registered for the tests. Convenor Prof Sita Kumari urged all candidates to strictly adhere to the instructions mentioned on their hall tickets, which include reaching the exam centres well in advance and carrying valid identification. She assured that the university has made elaborate arrangements to ensure the fair and smooth conduct of the exams across all centres. The results are expected to be declared in the last week of June 2025. Candidates and parents are advised to regularly visit the official website for timely updates. University Public Relations Officer Dr N Sree Rajani was also present at the press briefing.

Sita Kumari at the university campus in Tirupati on Saturday, she said that the entrance test will be conducted in 133 test centres across the State. A total of 27,253 candidates have applied for the exams this year. Out of these, 19,973 candidates have registered for three-year LLB course, 4,794 for the five-year LL.B. course, and 2,486 for the LLM programme (PGLCET). Gender-wise, 17,983 candidates are male, 9,269 are female, and 1 transgender applicant has registered. The candidates belong to a diverse spectrum of social categories. The highest number of applications have been received from the Open Category (7,849) and Scheduled Castes (6,770), followed by BC_D (3,675) and BC_A (3,094). The Vice-Chancellor emphasised the university's commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent examination process. The university has taken comprehensive measures to ensure fair conduct and logistical arrangements across all centres. The results of the exam are expected to be declared in the last week of June. Tirupati: Former Chief Minister and legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao was remembered with deep respect on the occasion of his 102nd birth anniversary, observed as a state festival on Wednesday. District Collector Dr S Venkateswar paid floral tributes to NTR's portrait at the District Collectorate on Wednesday morning. Earlier in the day, the Collector also offered garlands at the statue of NTR near the Town Club in Tirupati, honouring the iconic figure who elevated the pride of Telugu people on a national and international stage. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Venkateswar hailed NTR as an ideal personality and a great leader who brought glory to the Telugu community. He noted that NTR's portrayals of mythological characters such as Lord Rama and Lord Krishna left an indelible mark on the hearts of the Telugu people. As the Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, NTR introduced numerous welfare schemes that changed the lives of the poor. He also emphasised NTR's pioneering role in empowering women, including the establishment of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) in Tirupati and his move to grant equal property rights to women. District Revenue Officer G Narasimhulu, along with other officials attended the event. At SVIMS, Director Dr RV Kumar garlanded the statue of NTR and highlighted that it was due to NTR's initiative that the super-specialty hospital was established. He further stated that N Chandrababu Naidu is firmly committed to enhancing advanced medical facilities for patients coming to SVIMS. Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswavidyalayam (SPMVV), which was founded by NTR to empower women through education, also marked the occasion. Vice-Chancellor Prof V Uma and Registrar Prof N Rajani paid floral tributes to NTR's statue and remembered his vision for women's education. Sri Venkateswara University conducted a commemorative programme at the Senate Hall. Vice-Chancellor Prof Ch Appa Rao, Registrar Prof M Bhupathi Naidu, and College Development Council Dean Prof N Chendrayudu spoke on the occasion, recalling NTR's pioneering welfare schemes that benefitted millions. At SV Medical College, in-charge Principal Dr Venkateswarlu highlighted NTR's lasting contributions to the development of Tirupati and Tirumala. Faculty members including Dr Manohar, Dr Jayachandra Naidu, Dr AS Kireeti, and Dr S Subba Rao participated in the programme and paid their respects.
