MP CM Yadav transfers 25th installment of Ladli Behna Yojana, announces additional Rs 250 for upcoming Raksha Bandhan fest
Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 17 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav addressed a state-level Ladli Behna and Women's Convention held in Belkheda village in Jabalpur district on Monday and transferred over Rs 2,081 crores to beneficiaries of Ladli Behna Yojana and other welfare schemes. The CM transferred the 25th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana -- totaling Rs 1,551.44 crore -- to 1.27 crore beneficiaries, Rs 341 crore to 56.68 lakh beneficiaries under the Social Security Pension Scheme, Rs 39.14 crore to 27 lakh women as LPG refilling subsidy under PM Ujjwala Yojana and Rs 150 crore to 6,821 labourer families as ex gratia under the Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana. Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, every beneficiary woman receives Rs 1,250 per month. He noted that the government disburses approximately Rs 1,550 crore every month under this scheme, and in the past one and a half years, over Rs 30,000 crores has been provided to beneficiaries. Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated and performed Bhoomi-Pujans for eight development works worth Rs 22.44 crore and distributed benefits of various public welfare schemes. Addressing the program, CM Yadav said, 'The state government will leave no stone unturned in ensuring dignity, respect, and rightful entitlements for mothers, sisters, and daughters. To make Ladli sisters self-reliant and to provide them with security, respect, pride, and prosperity, the government is celebrating Raksha Bandhan every month by depositing financial assistance directly into their accounts. On the upcoming occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the amount given to Ladli sisters will be increased by Rs 250 so that they may celebrate the festival with joy.' The Chief Minister reaffirmed his government's commitment to transitioning from legacy to development. He highlighted that Jabalpur is the land of brave queens like Rani Durgavati and Rani Avantibai, and the state government is running several schemes named after such valiant women, benefiting lakhs of women across Madhya Pradesh. He reiterated that empowering women to be self-reliant is the government's mission. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, women in Madhya Pradesh and across India are becoming economically empowered. Additionally, CM Yadav announced the opening of a government college in Belkheda and the construction of a sub-divisional revenue office and staff quarters in Shahpura, along with the posting of an SDOP in Shahpura. The CM also highlighted the government's commitment to providing pucca houses for all, including those in rural, hilly, and urban areas, under PM Awas Yojana. He praised PM Modi's Ujjwala Yojana for freeing women from smoke-related health hazards. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, piped water is now reaching every household, relieving mothers and sisters from fetching water from wells and distant sources. He also mentioned schemes like PM Matru Vandana Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, noting that daughters are now being given equal opportunities in the armed forces. Senior cop killed, 2 others injured in IED blast in Chhattisgarh's Sukma
An additional superintendent was killed and two other police officers were injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Naxalites exploded in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Monday, police Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed grief over the death of Additional Superintendent of Police (Konta Division) Akash Rao Girepunje in the blast and said Naxalites will have to face its Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, who also holds the home portfolio, said Girepunje, a 2013-batch state police service officer, was martyred in the blast. Naxalites should shun violence, join the mainstream and contribute to the development of the society, he incident took place near Dondra village on Konta-Errabor road when the ASP and other personnel were out on foot patrolling after receiving inputs that an earth-mover machine was torched by Naxalites in the area, an official police personnel reached the spot, an IED exploded, causing injuries to ASP Girepunje, Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP- Konta area) Bhanupratap Chandrakar and Station House Officer of Konta police station Inspector Sonal Gwala, he the injured personnel were shiftd to Konta Hospital for initial treatment, he had sustained serious injuries after coming under direct impact of the blast. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment," the official 42-year-old ASP, who hailed from Raipur district, was recruited as deputy superintendent of police in 2013. Additional SP killed in IED blast in Chhattisgarh's Sukma; two other police officers injured
RAIPUR: Additional superintendent of police (ASP) of Konta division succumbed to severe injuries he sustained in a pressure Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast planted by Maoists in Sukma, about 500 km south of Raipur, on Monday. In the IED blast, the SDOP and station house officer of Konta were also injured; the condition of the two is stated to be out of danger. Raipur native ASP Akash Rao Giripunje was on his patrol duty walking along with his team on the Konta-Errabore route in the wake of the 'Bharat Bandh' call given by the banned outfit CPI (Maoist) on June 10, when the blast occurred. All three were rushed to the Konta hospital where Giripunje died while undergoing treatment. IED is the most accessible weapon for Maoists. IED blasts remain the biggest challenge for armed forces navigating the Maoist cradle in Bastar region, as many security personnel and civilians have been killed in such incidents.

Armyman dies in accident
Barwani: A 34-year-old Naik of the Indian Army died on Wednesday in a road accident on the outskirts of Sendhwa on the Agra Mumbai National Highway under the Sendhwa Rural Police Station area of Barwani district. SDOP Sendhwa Ajay Waghmare told TOI, "34-year-old Dhana Ji Kolekar, driving a car, lost control after being hit by an unknown vehicle from the rear side on the Agra Mumbai National Highway, and his car overturned in a ditch." He said, "On receiving information about the incident, Dhana Ji was taken to the govt Civil Hospital of Sendhwa with the help of Highway Mobile, where doctors declared him dead." Dhana Ji, originally a resident of Eidapida of Bhoom Tehsil of Dharashiv (Osmanabad) district of Maharashtra, was returning home after taking leave for the marriage of his nephew, said SDOP. He was originally associated with Mhow Cantonment but was currently posted as Naik in EME Army Cantt, Jalandhar, Punjab. His family and Mhow cantonment officials were informed, and the body was handed over to kin after conducting an autopsy on Thursday. He is survived by his wife and two children. He said that the vehicle that hit Dhana Ji's car from behind is a car and is being searched for.

Two minors among four arrested for highway robberies
Indore: Four persons, including two minors, were arrested for their involvement in two highway robberies. The first incident occurred on the morning of Feb 8, when Anil Barde, 28, was travelling with his wife Began on a motorcycle from Pithampur to his native Jhakar village in Barwani district via AB Road Four-Lane. At around 5:30 AM, near Panjriya Phata bridge, four unidentified persons riding two motorcycles blocked their path. One of them struck Began on her head with a metallic bangle (kada) and robbed her of gold and silver ornaments. They also snatched a mobile phone from Anil's pocket before fleeing the scene. Following the incident, a case was registered at Badgonda police station under section 309(4)(6) of the BNS. The second robbery took place on April 18. Ramkumar, 52, a resident of Bhawara village in Uttar Pradesh, reported that he and his wife Ramawanti were threatened by knife-wielding robbers while they were on the highway. The culprits stole Rs 5,000 cash along with their gold and silver jewellery. Another case was registered at Badgonda police station under section 309(4) of the BNS. SP Hitika Wasal said that upon receiving details of both incidents, a team led by SDOP of Mhow and officer-in-charge of Badgonda police station was formed. "The police team gathered intelligence from locals around the crime scenes and received vital information about suspects from Gwalhundhi village. During interrogation, two juvenile suspects from Gwalhundhi admitted to their involvement in both robberies, revealing that they and accomplices targeted couples and travellers on the highway at night. They confessed to using motorcycles to block roads and threatening victims with weapons before robbing them," she said. Based on their statements, the police arrested — Mangilal alias Sonu alias Suraj alias Durlabh, 22, a resident of Lasudiya Hatu in Dewas (currently residing in Indore) and Manish alias Lokesh, 22, a resident of Bilawali Hatpipliya in Dewas, along with two minors. During interrogation, the duo admitted to their involvement in multiple highway robberies. Following their leads, the stolen items were recovered from stone mines in Gwalhundhi, including silver necklaces, two gold mangalsutras with pendants, a pair of gold earrings and a silver ring. The police are investigating the gang's wider operations and working to identify any other members involved in the highway robbery network.
