Delmas SAPS nab man with illegal gun

A 26-year-old man appeared in the Delmas Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, facing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. The SAPS arrested him on June 13 while acting on a tip-off about suspicious activity in the area and did a targeted search. Officers found the man with a 9mm firearm with its serial number filed off, one magazine and 38 rounds of live 9mm ammunition. They confiscated the weapon and ammunition. Investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the gun and determine any possible links to criminal activity in the Delmas area.
