Mercedes-Benz Issues Recall Over Fire Risk In India- Is Your Luxury Car Affected?
Mercedes-Benz India has issued a recall for multiple models in the country over a potential fire risk. Specifically, the latest recall from the German brand covers models like EQS sedan, GLC, AMG SL 55, and S-Class. The update on the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) confirms that a total of 30 units have been affected. With this one on the list, the brand now has a total of six voluntary recalls so far this year. Based on the announcement by the brand, a total of 16 EQS sedans are affected by this issue, in addition to nine S-Class models, three GLC vehicles, and two AMG SLs. To address the problem, Mercedes-Benz is expected to contact the owners of the affected vehicles to schedule an appointment and rectify the problem at no cost. All of the affected units of the aforementioned models were manufactured between 22 July 2023 and 20 March 2024. The recall note from the brand read, "It has been identified that the fuse boxes might not have been reworked correctly. As a result, systems connected to the fuse might fail, and the vehicle might lose its propulsion without prior warning, and the restraint functions or the instrument cluster might also be impaired, increasing the risk of a crash and injuries. Under such specific circumstances, a potential risk of a thermal incident in the vehicle cannot be excluded." Before this, the brand had issued a recall in March to address a similar fire risk. Meanwhile, other recalls were addressing a software glitch and an issue with the front passenger airbag. Along with it, there was another recall in January 2025 addressing models like GLC, AMG GT, S-Class, G-Class, and AMG E Class pertaining to a fuel delivery module.

Weekend Drive by Hormazd Sorabjee: Let's do a reign check
The silent, dignified arrival of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class has long been a hallmark of understated luxury. It's a vehicle synonymous with serenity, where the cacophony of the outside world is shut out and passengers are cosseted in comfort. Then, there's the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E-Performance. This isn't merely an S-Class; it's what happens when the engineers of Mercedes's performance division, AMG, are given free rein to infuse a flagship sedan with supercar DNA. Bearing the '63' badge, highlighted in red, is a signal that this 802hp limousine has shed its regal composure for something far more assertive, turning the traditionally rear-seat focused S-Class experience squarely onto the driver. At its core, the S 63 E-Performance is a plug-in hybrid system taken to an extreme. The familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, formidable with its 612hp and 900Nm, is augmented by a rear-axle-mounted electric motor and a 13kWh battery, contributing an additional 190hp and 320Nm. The combined output is a staggering 802hp and a monumental 1,430Nm of torque. Unleashing this power is almost surreal. Despite its considerable 2.5-tonne mass, the sensation under full acceleration is less about forward motion, and more akin to the vehicle warping the very asphalt beneath its tires. The 0-100kph sprint is dispatched in a mere 3.4 seconds, an astonishing feat for a car of this size and stature. Top speed is electronically limited to 250kph but with the optional Driver's Pack, you can hit 290kph. Managing this colossal output involves a sophisticated dual-transmission setup: A Speedshift 9-speed MCT for the V8 and a separate 2-speed unit for the electric motor. An AMG S-Class inherently grapples with two contrasting ideologies: Sportscar handling versus limousine comfort. The S 63 E-Performance leans decidedly towards the former. While it features adaptive air suspension, the ride is firm. When faced with a challenging road, however, the AMG pedigree shines through. The 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system, complemented by 3-degree rear-wheel steering, endows this long-wheelbase sedan with surprising agility. It turns in keenly and maintains impressive stability through sweeping bends. Yet, in tighter, more technical sections, the laws of physics and its 2.5-tonne mass ultimately assert themselves, limiting how much the handling tech can truly do. Ground clearance, too, demands vigilance over significant speedbumps, even with the air suspension's raise function. Visually, the S 63 signals its intent with clarity. The distinctive Panamericana grille, aggressive bumper designs with large air dams, and the AMG logo replacing the traditional Mercedes-Benz star all contribute to a more muscular aesthetic. Inside, carbon fibre, interwoven with a red thread, adorns the dashboard. The digital instrument cluster offers racier themes, while the central 12.8-inch touchscreen serves as the highly responsive control hub for every facet of the car. Despite its driver-centric focus, the rear cabin remains a thoroughly luxurious space, offering ample legroom, massage functions, and independent entertainment screens. Priced from ₹3.3 crore, the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E-Performance occupies a curious niche. It possesses supercar-levels of power and combines it with the undeniable luxury of an S-Class. The S 63, then, is for the individual who demands both extremes – the ultimate in executive transport capabilities and the ability to rip through the fabric of time. It's a statement, an indulgence, and ultimately, a purchase driven not by logic, but by the sheer joy it provides. From HT Brunch, June 21, 2025 Follow us on

Exclusive: See Stray Kids' Seungmin in a Behind-The-Scenes Pic From Burberry's New Festival Campaign
Courtesy of Burberry, exclusively for Teen Vogue Stray Kids know a thing or two about festivals. Before setting off on their world tour, the group spent the summer of 2024 racking up festival spots at BST Hyde Park, I-Days Milano, and Lollapalooza. Now, Burberry is using that knowledge to good use in its latest campaign, tapping Seungmin as one of its leading stars. Unveiled on June 5, 2025, Burberry's new campaign celebrates festival culture through a British lens, with videos directed by Kim Gehrig and photography by Drew Vickers. Seungmin is joined by the likes of Liam Gallagher, Goldie, Loyle Carner, Chy Cartier, John Glacier, Cara Delevingne, Alexa Chung, Lennon Gallagher, Molly Moorish-Gallagher, and Gene Gallagher. 'Think of the campaign like a collage,' Burberry's chief creative officer, Daniel Lee, says in a statement. 'Candid moments capturing off-duty fans and headline acts in between gigs. Burberry sits at the centre of the summer calendar, it's both a means of creative expression and a go-to uniform for festival goers.' In order to be in the campaign, Seungmin took a break from his busy schedule to fly to London for the shoot. 'Everyone was so supportive and really seemed to enjoy and cheer on my energy, which brought me so much strength. I wanted to stay in London longer!" he says in an exclusive Q&A shared by Burberry. '[My favorite memory from set is] when I took the mic and filmed a performance scene with an Oasis song playing, I really got into it, and I was super happy because everyone seemed to enjoy it.' To celebrate the release, Teen Vogue got an exclusive behind-the-scenes picture from Seungmin's time on set, as well as the rest of his mini Q&A on festival experiences and essentials. It would be the moment on stage at last year's festival[s]. The memory of performing in front of countless fans with the sunset in the background still remains so clear to me. The sight of the audience's hands glowing in the sunset really tugged at my heart! Accompanied by the band's sound surrounding us, our music felt truly grand. Before going on stage to bring good energy to the fans, I always tend to listen to calm music and create a calm environment around me. I also eat a hearty meal beforehand and think about giving it all I've got on stage. I love performing 'S-Class.' It may be because the song holds a sense of pride, but even when the song isn't in the language of the audience, they still sing along and relate to it, making it feel even more special. It's always so amazing, and we are so grateful to see how much love people pour into our music and countless other things, even from so far away. Even though we all speak different languages, it seems that our hearts have become similar as they are connected through music. Since it's not an opportunity that comes easily, I think the big stage of a music festival is a really important and rare chance for artists to connect with fans. [What I enjoy most about festivals] I think would be the moment when everyone comes together as one, united through music. Even if we all speak different languages, we become one by following the same melody, rhythm, and atmosphere. Originally Appeared on Teen Vogue Want more style stories from Teen Vogue?
