Rylan Clark has admitted he's been 'on his own' for the past few years and only been on two dates in the last two years as he opened up about his single life and candidly opened up about his personal quirks Rylan Clark has confessed that the glare of fame has dampened his dating life, as he admits to being solitary and only going on two dates in the past couple of years. The 36 year old TV and radio personality enjoys a night out at bars and clubs but hesitates to approach potential interests due to his public profile. In a candid chat with 67 year old psychotherapist Philippa Perry on his podcast 'Rylan: How to Be in Love', he shared: "I've genuinely been in a situation where I've been in a bar, and I've looked at someone across the way. "They've looked at me, I've looked at them, and I would never feel confident going up to someone because of my job. I think, 'Are they looking at me because I'm Rylan, or are they looking at me because they think, he's alright?" Since parting ways with his husband Dan Neal in 2021, the BBC Radio 2 presenter has experienced loneliness while living by himself for the first time ever, reports the Manchester Evening News. Rylan revealed: "For the past few years, I have been on my own, in the sense of living on my own, which is something I've never done in my entire life. But I have got to the point where I've got my 'SSB', my Secret Single Behaviour, where I might talk to the coffee machine in the morning and go, 'Of course you want me to empty the drip trays!'" Rylan Clark has candidly opened up about his personal quirks and love life post-divorce, revealing what he seeks in a partner. The TV personality, who split from his husband Dan, has been back on the dating scene, even embarking on blind dates in Italy with his mate Rob Rinder, 47, for their BBC Two series 'Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour'. In a frank admission, Rylan shared his unique outlook: "You know, it winds me up, but I will say it out loud. Some people might think I'm unwell. I'm not, it's my Secret Single Behaviour." He also disclosed the qualities he desires in a potential partner: "I want two things out of someone; one is that you make me laugh and don't make me cry. And the other one is when I walk into the house, or you walk into the house, you ask me or I ask you, 'How was your day?'". Fans can delve deeper into Rylan's thoughts on romance by tuning into his podcast 'Rylan: How to Be in Love', available on BBC Sounds and visually on BBC iPlayer.

The Church of England priest has recalled a moment before he joined the clergy when his hand touched a "hot griddle" as he and a burger man had "casual sex" in the vehicle, which was parked in a lay-by in the Midlands, England. Chatting on the Rylan: How to Be in Love podcast with host Rylan Clark, he admitted: "I went through a period of having a very interesting and full life ... I discovered casual sex in a place where it wasn't often found, which is on the road network of the Midlands." Rylan chimed in: "Dogging?" Richard replied: "Well we didn't call it that then. It was meeting people in lay-bys ... "It really was like that. There was one chap, I remember. Oh, it's just terrible. There was a burger van out there, and I ended up getting off with the burger man. Article continues below "Anyway he had to sort of draw the shutter down on his burger van, and then it rocked around a bit." Rylan pointed out: "That must have been dangerous with that griddle." Richard revealed: "Well, I put my hand back on the hot griddle, exactly. I got a burn ... I have to say as well, the food hygiene has got a lot better." Richard - who shot to fame as a member of the 1980s pop groups Bronski Beat and The Communards - also revealed he has a lifetime ban from Avis rent-a-car after he got "s***-*****" on "ecstasy and acid" in Ibiza. The 63-year-old star explained: "It was really after the band [The Communards] reached its highest point and we were taking a break which we are still on 35 years later. "That was when sex and drugs and rock and roll came together for me and I took some time out and I went to Ibiza and I just was s***-***** for many, many months. "There was one summer I went, and I went with a bunch of people, and we all just took ecstasy and acid, oh, everything really. And I remember we got barred from Avis rent-a-car for life because we got through a lot of vehicles. "Mavis from Avis, she was furious." Rylan had to check if he heard what Richard had said correctly, and asked: "Stop! Got barred from Avis?" Article continues below Richard confirmed: "Yeah, for life." The former pop star also bought a speedboat, and he does not know its whereabouts. Richard said: "I bought a speedboat and I don't know where it is."

Stephen Fry gives rare insight into relationship with younger husband
Celebrity Traitors contestant Stephen Fry opened up to Rylan Clark about his marriage to Elliott Spencer on the latest episode of the BBC Sounds podcast How to Be in Love Broadcaster Stephen Fry has given a rare insight into his marriage to Elliott Spencer after more than a decade together. It's included him revealing that he has discovered aspects of pop culture through his younger husband. Stephen, 67, and Elliott, 38, have been together since 2013. The couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary earlier this year and the former QI host described himself as "a lucky man" in a post marking the occasion in January. The Blackadder star has now spoken about his marriage whilst a guest on the BBC Sounds podcast Rylan: How to Be in Love. He was interviewed by host Rylan Clark, 36, for the latest episode, which was released earlier today. Stephen was asked about the age gap between the couple and said he "stopped thinking about it". He went on to suggest in the discussion that a younger partner can be "more experienced in the world as it is than as it was". The comedian, who said that he has "completely different tastes in things" compared to his husband Elliott, added: "So much of what I love in music and literature and so on is from not necessarily this century. It isn't from this century." Asked how that plays out, he said: "It's wonderful." Stephen then revealed that Elliott has introduced him to rapper Kendrick Lamar and wrestling brand WWE, for example, with him sharing that he's now a fan of them himself. Stephen said of his husband: "He teaches me things I just didn't know. He introduced me to Kendrick Lamar, which was a great thing to do because [he's] I've decided is a great poetical spirit - a really remarkable figure." He continued: "So that, plus, now you're really going to laugh here, because I thought 'is he insane?' He has a great affection for, and I guess you could call it ironic, but it's real, for WWE." Stephen - who is set to compete on Celebrity Traitors later this year - said that Elliott introduced him to the "cast of characters" in wrestling, whom he described as "bloody talented". Asked if he's a fan now, he said: "I kind of am." He added that he's even bought tickets for WrestleMania in Las Vegas. Asked about the "secret" to a "successful" ten-year marriage, Stephen said that every relationship is different. He said that each relationship is "brand new" and has "never been seen before," adding: "So I can tell you how to have a successful relationship with Elliott, but that's probably not very helpful." Sharing his thoughts, he added: "All the normal human virtues, some of which are forgotten virtues, but one of the most important human virtues I think isn't even really considered a virtue, but it is one that changes the world. "It's not kindness, which obviously is important, but it's a subset of kindness, perhaps. And it's cheerfulness. When you're in the presence of a cheerful person it makes everything better. They're like their own sunshine. So that's one of the things - if one is down to help the other come up."

Stephen Fry, 67, gives rare insight on age gap with husband Elliott Spencer, 36
Stephen Fry keeps his relationship with husband Elliott Spencer out of the spotlight but has made a rare comment about their 30-year age gap. The pair marked their 10-year wedding anniversary this year, having first met at a friend's party in the early 2010s. Last year, Stephen, 67, had to address breakup speculation as Elliott, 36, had not been seen with him for quite some time, with the Celebrity Traitors star reassuring fans all was ok. He's now spoken on Rylan Clark's new podcast — Rylan: How to Be in Love — about their 'successful relationship', getting candid about the ups and downs of the age gap. When asked about the secret to a healthy relationship, Stephen quipped: 'I can tell you how to have a successful relationship with Elliot, but that's probably not very helpful.' He shared that Elliott has introduced him to aspects of culture that he would never have considered diving into before. 'He teaches me things I just didn't know,' praised Stephen. 'He introduced me to Kendrick Lamar, which was a great thing to do because Kendrick Lamar I've decided is a great poetical spirit, a really remarkable figure. 'But that plus, now you're really going to laugh here because I thought, is he insane? He has a great affection for, and I guess you could call it ironic, but it's real — for WWE…' We're not sure Elliott's age accounts for this WWE fascination, as it was founded in the 50s, however, Wrestlemania did have a massive popularity boom in the 90s. Rylan, 36, asked if the presenter was 'now a WWE fan' to which he replied that he is and has even bought tickets for Las Vegas. When speaking about what makes a relationship so strong, the former QI host shared: 'I guess it's all the normal human virtues – some of which are forgotten virtues – but one of the most important human virtues, I think, isn't even really considered a virtue.' 'But it is one that changes the world. And it's not kindness, which obviously is important, but it's a subset of kindness, perhaps. And it's cheerfulness.' He explained that a cheerful person 'makes everything better', adding: 'They're like their own sunshine. So that's one of the things, if one is down to help the other come up…' Stephen has spoken about his struggles with depression in the past, having been diagnosed with cyclothymia, a form of bipolar disorder. 'Understand each other's differences as emotional human beings,' the St Trinians actor said. 'For example, I had to understand, and he had to understand, that I am extremely energetic and bouncy and chatty in the mornings at breakfast and he is not. More Trending 'So I had to find ways of just calming myself and he had to come up a little bit and not be quite so kind of, 'will you shut up Stephen!'' Stephen has said before that Elliott 'saved his life', revealing in 2016 after a tough stretch that his husband helps calm him – as well as getting his medication right. He has also shared that he was initially hesitant about persuing the bond he felt with Elliott as although he knew 'pretty much straight away' that he wanted to 'spend the rest of my life' together, he wondered if Elliott thought the same because 'he's got rather a lot more [life to go than me]'.
