Young rural Stirling performers set to take to the stage with Beauty and the Beast
Callander's McLaren High School is asking the audience to 'be their guests' as they stage the fairytale favourite next week. From talking teapots to enchanted castles, McLaren High School is preparing to cast a theatrical spell with its magical production of Beauty and the Beast next week. The show runs at the Callander school from June 23 until June 25, at 7pm each evening. Bringing the beloved fairytale to life has been a true community effort – with a special spotlight on local charity Style Options, who stepped in when the school needed the perfect dress for Belle. Based in Alloa, Style Options supports teenagers and young adults in Clackmannanshire and Stirlingshire to attend milestone events by providing formalwear free of charge. The production has also been supported by Forest Theatre Company in Gartmore, who kindly loaned props to help pupils bring a tale as old as time to the school stage. 'This production has been a real team effort – from our cast and crew to the wider community,' said Ryan Webber, musical director of the show. 'We're incredibly proud of what our students have created together, and so grateful to organisations like Style Options and Forest Theatre Company for supporting us. Their contributions have helped bring the magic of Beauty and the Beast to life.' Audiences can expect a magical evening of music and timeless storytelling from a talented cast of students. Tickets are £9 and can be booked via Parent Pay, purchased from the school reception or bought on the door on the night. Ryan added: 'Don't miss your chance to be our guest for what promises to be a spectacular school show!'
