West Lothian man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after incident on busy road
A West Lothian man was rushed to hospital on Saturday with serious injuries following an incident on a busy Bathgate road. Officers were called to Plessey Road at around 10:40pm on Saturday, June 21 after they received reports of a disturbance. The exact nature of the incident has yet to be confirmed. A 43-year-old man was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. His current condition is unknown. Edinburgh Airport fined after man dies following fall from plane lift

Early guilty plea He suffered a punctured lung, spine fractures and a fractured pelvis as well as a flail chest, where multiple broken ribs cause the chest wall to become unstable and interfere with Young, from Edinburgh, suffered a heart attack two days later and clinicians concluded "the totality of his injuries and medical condition were not survivable".He died on 7 December Airport Ltd, a private limited company, was prosecuted under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 at a hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Fiona Sharp said the "isolated incident" had been "a tragic accident" and noted the ambulift had previously been inspected twice by a third party with no defects Sharp said this was the first time the company had faced prosecution and she had been persuaded that "the culpability is low".The fine was reduced from £120,000 due to an early guilty plea.A spokesman for Edinburgh Airport said: "We again offer our sincere condolences to the family of Mr Young following the tragic accident at Edinburgh Airport in November 2023."We have cooperated fully with the police and regulatory authorities throughout their investigations and we accept the decision of the court."The safety of our team and passengers continues to be a fundamental priority for the business."

Police appeal after man, 43, injured in hit-and-run
Detectives have appealed for information after a hit-and-run in East Lothian left a man in hospital. Police Scotland said the 43-year-old was struck by a silver, older-style SUV on Park Road in Port Seton, near Prestonpans, at about 01:20. The vehicle then drove off before the alarm was raised. The victim was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Det Sgt Garry Mauran urged anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the silver SUV being driven erratically to come forward.

Detectives are appealing for information after a 43-year-old man was struck by a car in Port Seton on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Around 1.20am, the 43-year-old man was on Park Road when he was struck by a silver older-style SUV, which then drove off. Police and ambulance attended, and the injured man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
