Ronnie O'Sullivan and Laila Rouass reunite with £2m decision made ahead of quitting UK
Ronnie O'Sullivan and Laila Rouass reunite with £2m decision made ahead of quitting UK Snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan is said to have rekindled his relationship with former fiancee Laila Rouass just nine months after the couple announced their split Ronnie O'Sullivan and Laila Rouass are claimed to have rekindled their relationship (Image:) Snooker icon Ronnie O'Sullivan has reportedly rekindled his romance with former fiancée Laila Rouass, just months after their separation. The snooker ace, known as 'The Rocket', parted ways with the Strictly Come Dancing star last year after a 13-year relationship. Their breakup coincided with what many consider to have been O'Sullivan's toughest period professionally, having played sparingly in 2025 before entering this year's world championship. However, it seems the couple have now reunited, with reports indicating they are back together. The Sun claims that O'Sullivan and Rouass are not only reuniting but also planning a move to Dubai and have put their £2m home up for sale ahead of relocating. A source said: "They have been back together for a while. The time apart gave them time to think about what they want and what is important to them - and that is being together. "Ronnie is moving to the Middle East and Laila is going with him. They've talked about living in Dubai, which is just a two-hour flight from where Ronnie has his snooker academy in Saudi Arabia. "He has spoken to people on his snooker circuit about the move and is excited about a clean break from the UK for him and Laila. They have had their issues in the past but Ronnie and Laila have worked through it and seem really happy again. Earlier this year, they listed their £2million property in Epping Forest for sale in preparation for their relocation. A source told The Mirror: "The property has now been sold, subject to contract." The news of the couple's reunion comes after Rouass broke her silence on their original separation back in March. Taking to Instagram, she said: "Break ups can strip you down to your essence," she wrote. Ronnie O'Sullivan faces World Snooker Championship nightmare ahead of new season
Ronnie O'Sullivan begins the snooker season with work to do to avoid an unwanted trip to World Championship qualifying next year. The Rocket reached the semi-finals at the Crucible just a few weeks ago, but that came after a time away from the game as he opted out of a string of events. He is currently sitting pretty at number five in the world rankings, but the seven-time world champion faces falling from that perch in the months to come. The 49-year-old had a brilliant 2023-24 season, winning two ranking titles. but on the two-year rolling ranking system those ranking points will come tumbling off over the coming campaign. The 2025/26 season gets underway later this month, and on the projected rankings for next year's World Championship, O'Sullivan currently sits at number 17. That would mean he would have to go to qualifying as only the top 16 seeds head straight to the Crucible for the last 32 of the tournament. The last time the Rocket had to go to World Championship qualifying was all the way back in 1994 when the likes of Alex Higgins and Cliff Thorburn also came through the qualifiers. O'Sullivan was just 18 as he beat Dennis Taylor in the first round in Sheffield before losing to John Parrott in the last 16. It was a different time entirely. He has been out of the world's top 16 since then, but has never had to qualify for the World Championship. After winning the world title in 2012 he took a year off and tumbled down the rankings but returned to the Crucible as number one seed as he was defending champion. O'Sullivan is not the only big name outside of the top 16 on the projected Crucible seedings, with Mark Allen one place below him in 18th. 2023 world champion Luca Brecel is way down at number 37 on the projected rankings ahead of the 2026 World Championship. Zhao Xintong Judd Trump Kyren Wilson John Higgins Mark Williams Neil Robertson Xiao Guodong Mark Selby Shaun Murphy Si Jiahui Ding Junhui Barry Hawkins Jak Jones Stuart Bingham Wu Yize Chris Wakelin Ronnie O'Sullivan Mark Allen Dave Gilbert Lei Peifan Full Race to the Crucible rankings available here. Of course if O'Sullivan had to win two matches at World Championship qualifying to make it to the Crucible then he would be hot favourite to do just that, but nothing is guaranteed. Neil Robertson was an unlikely name to face the nerve-shredding qualifiers two years ago and he was beaten 10-9 by Jamie Jones in the final round, missing out on a trip to the Crucible for the first time since 2004. However, despite the projected rankings being something to be well aware of, there is plenty of time for the likes of O'Sullivan and Allen to make sure they avoid the dreaded qualifiers. Both are currently comfortably inside the top 16 in the world rankings and can remain there by winning matches, and ideally tournaments. Last season saw Shaun Murphy facing the same fate of slipping out of the top 16 before the World Championship came around but the Magician just about avoided it. More Trending Murphy didn't get his hands on a ranking title last season but two semis and five quarter-finals helped him hold onto a spot in the top 16 and avoid a trip to the English Institute of Sport. The 2025-26 season gets underway on Sunday June 22 with the start of Wuhan Open qualification, held a long old way from Wuhan at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester. After a quiet second half of last season O'Sullivan has entered the upcoming Wuhan Open, British Open and Shanghai Masters so looks to have a busy start to the new campaign. 2025 Shanghai Masters Snooker draw, schedule and prize money announced
Judd Trump will head to the Shanghai Masters as defending champion (Picture: Getty Images) The world's best players contest the Shanghai Masters next month, with the draw throwing up some cracking contests in the high profile non-ranking event. The world's top 16 qualify for the tournament, joined by the next four highest ranked Chinese players and four amateur wildcards. The 24-player draw means the top eight in the world go straight into the last 16, while players ranked 9-16 have to face the Chinese qualifiers. The Shanghai Masters was first held in 2007 but it was a very different ranking tournament back then, switching to the invitational format in 2018. Almost a Chinese version of London's Masters, it has become a fantastic early-season event which always attracts the biggest names in the game. Ronnie O'Sullivan has especially enjoyed it, winning four editions of the event on the spin from 2017-23, either side of a gap over Covid. Judd Trump goes in as the defending champion this time round after he beat Shaun Murphy in last year's final. Speaking after winning the title last year, he said: 'The age of the crowd in China is so much younger than the rest of the world. I always enjoy playing in front of a fanbase where I can inspire the next generation. I think that is why my record in China is so good,' said Trump. 'I want to win as many big tournaments as possible this season. This is probably one of the top five events on the calendar. To win this one early on is an amazing start. I would like to replicate what I did last season and get close to five wins or even more. I couldn't have dreamed of a better start.'

Ronnie O'Sullivan and TV star ex Laila Rouass reach agreement after 'painful' split
Ronnie O'Sullivan and TV star ex Laila Rouass reach agreement after 'painful' split Ronnie O'Sullivan and Laila Rouass have agreed to sell their former home as the snooker legend reportedly looks to leave the UK and move to the Middle East Laila Rouass and Ronnie O'Sullivan announced their split in December after a 12-year on-and-off relationship (Image: lailarouass/Instagram ) Ronnie O'Sullivan and his ex-fiancee Laila Rouass have agreed to sell their former home as they prepare for a clean break. The former couple parted ways in December after a 12-year on-and-off romance. Earlier this year, they listed their five-bedroom residence for sale for £2million. A source told The Mirror: "The property has now been sold, subject to contract." Ronnie, a seven-time world snooker champion, and 53-year-old Laila, known for her roles in EastEnders and Footballers' Wives, bought the home in Woodford Green, east London, together for £1.35m in June 2018. O'Sullivan, 49, is now reportedly planning a move to the Middle East, where he runs a snooker academy. After he was knocked out of the World Snooker Championship last month, the dad-of-three said: "There's going to be a few changes in my life. I think I'm going to be moving out of the UK. "I'm going to start a new life somewhere else. I'll still try to play snooker, but I don't know what the future looks like for me, really. Am I not playing again? I'm not saying anything. I've said it so many times. I'm not saying anything other than I'm moving away soon. There are a lot more important things in life to worry about than a game of snooker." Ronnie and Laila, who became engaged in 2013 but never married, began their relationship in 2012 when she viewed one of his previous homes while looking for a property. He later asked her out through the estate agent, who happened to be her friend. Article continues below Their relationship was marred by claims that Ronnie's mother, Maria, had allegedly called Laila "a prostitute", with the couple initially splitting in February 2022. After a reconciliation just months later, the couple separated again last year. Laila Rouass and Ronnie O'Sullivan are understood to still be on good terms (Image: Getty Images ) Laila confirmed their permanent split following months of speculation, after she was seen without an engagement ring on This Morning in August last year. Article continues below She later took to Instagram to write: "Breakups can strip you down to your essence. I got through mine by using pain as fuel to take control because no matter what, we will lose parts of ourselves in relationships. It's normal, don't beat yourself up. "One thing I'm conscious of not doing is trying to get back where I was. No, I'm discovering who I've become. I've gone through various emotions... hurt, pain, anger, but what I've realised about anger is that it's bottomless. "The thing about break-ups... it doesn't have to be a sad time. It doesn't have to be hard. It can be the beginning of new adventures, new learnings. It can be a wonderful teacher. Using self-compassion and manifesting a new life without someone you love can still lead you to a place of joy."
