Fans have all been left dolling out the same criticism of the new flavour after they were spotted on shelves. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 The price was branded "ridiculous" by shoppers Credit: Facebook / Food Finds UK Official The new biscuits were launched just a few days ago and began appearing on shelves on June 16. The new flavour was announced as part of a line up of new sweet treat releases offered by the snack food brand. The newest flavour of the nation's favourite biscuit features a tantalising pink chocolate covering. Colourful, pink wrappers make the newest McVitie's treat stand out on shelves. Announcing the new flavour McVitie's said they would be putting a "fruity spin" on the iconic biscuit. Shoppers rushed to try out the bold new flavour but were left saying the same thing after finding them in store. Biscuit lovers were left with a sour taste after seeing the price of the new McVitie's Pink Digestives Raspberry & Cream Flavour. At a whopping £2.50 per pack shoppers said Sainsbury's could keep the sweet treats. But despite the excitement of the new flavour shoppers were left stunned by the "ridiculous" price. After an image of the new biscuits was shared to social media alongside the eye watering price tag fans hit out at the treat supplier. Amanda Holden, Roman Kemp & Denise van Outen step out on blue carpet to mark 100 years of McVitie's Chocolate Digestives While McVitie's claimed the biscuit would "bring together nostalgic flavours in a fun, fruity, and irresistibly moreish bite" fans could only focus on the price. The pink biscuits sparked an outrage from shoppers who said they could get shop brand digestives for just 50p. While Sainsbury's priced the new bickys at £2.50 per pack other shops are reportedly to receive packages which will sell for £2.25. When the new biscuits were announced Benazir Barlet-Batada, Marketing Director at McVitie's, spoke about the release. Barlet-Batada said: 'As we continue to celebrate 100 years of McVitie's Chocolate Digestives, we wanted to mark the next chapter in our history by reinventing the nation's favourite. "Fun, fresh and packed with fruity flavour, the new Pink Digestives are designed to delight devoted Digestives fans and foodies alike.' 3 The new flavour was touted as a reinvention of the nation's favourite Credit: McVitie's Promo versions of the new treats are reportedly marked down to just £1.85. Price marked packs of the new pink biscuits that will sell for £2.25 are set to come to stores on July 21. Current stock at Sainsbury's selling for £2.50 debuted on June 16 with the wider rollout of price marked packs coming next month. The launch comes after the brand announced White Chocolate Digestives in 2023 and Seriously Chocolatey Digestives last July. How to save cash on your food shop Money saving experts at HSBC UK have revealed their top tips to saving cash on your food shop. 1. Set a budget Creating a budget will help to stretch your budget. Start by working out how much you spent on food over the last three months, then each month you get paid, set aside a certain amount for food. 2. Plan your meals Make a list of your main meals for the coming week, including the ingredients you need, and stick to it. Don't get drawn into offers for things that you don't need. If you already have some food leftover from the week before, try to see what you can do with that first. 3. Think about when and where you shop It's best to shop on a full stomach so you don't get tempted. Shopping less often can help you to think about what you buy and it may help you to stick to your budget. 4. Go online Shopping online is a good and easy way to manage your budget. It can also help to track expenses, whilst also preventing impulse buys. After seeing the price of the new biscuits in Sainsbury's one fan said: "At £2.50 I let the shop keep them, ridiculous when shop brand digestives are 50p. "These companies hike the price on purpose they'll be reduced to pennies if they don't sell well." Another commented: "For £2.50 they can keep them." And a third added: "Expensive at £2.50 for biscuits. Bet these will be in Farmfoods soon for £1.00." Another wrote: "I need to experience." And a fifth replied: "They have them in my store I will get some tomorrow after work."

Are cruises the ultimate family bonding holiday?
What does a travel writer in his mid-thirties, habitually chained to his laptop, drowning in deadlines, have in common with a bass player from a 'new wave' powerhouse who's since forged a successful acting career? It turns out, it's a similar taste in holidays: a splash of neon Florida morphing into the carnival rhythm of the Caribbean – all of it unfolding while afloat. Earlier this year, I embarked with my curious and spirited little one – who was fast approaching his first birthday – on a voyage around the Caribbean with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). We joined Norwegian Encore – the 3,958-capacity moving playground – in Miami, swapping the city's steamy sidewalks and traffic for a seven-day itinerary that spanned beaches blazing under winter sun, storied old towns and lush hillsides across four ports. Once home, I learned that weeks later, Spandau Ballet star Martin and his son, radio host and TV presenter Roman Kemp, took to the ocean on the very same ship, following our voyage in a partnership with NCL. I wondered how our family holiday at sea would compare – at different waypoints on this mad journey that is parenting – so, back in London, I spoke to the pair about our experiences. It had been almost two decades since they'd been on a family holiday, Roman, 32, told me, describing it as an 'absolute rarity' that they managed to find the time to get away together. 'Very quickly, I recognised the shade of red that my dad goes with in the first hour of being anywhere hot – that was a good bit of nostalgia.' He jokes that my taking such a young one along with me is 'either great news or the hardest thing ever'. Honestly, it's a bit of both. But cruising absolutely works for such a small traveller. The vast choice of food (and its availability at all times) makes feeding him easy, and if your child isn't quite ready for a la carte, the buffet keeps things super simple. You get to see so many places without the faff of unpacking and then repacking again – plus the little one will be enthralled by the ocean as it rolls past the ship. And even when it's a sell-out holiday, as ours was, you can find space (and activities) that suit your needs. 'That's what I think those cruise ships are good for,' said Roman's 63-year-old dad, Martin. 'It breaks it up into different areas well. You can get what holiday you want from it, that's what I discovered. It doesn't have to be everyone doing the same thing.' There's plenty to keep you busy on Norwegian Encore, which has been sailing since 2019, its hull adorned with vibrant colours spilling backwards from the bow. Across 20 decks, there are as many restaurants (including an American-style steakhouse, Asian-Latin fusion menus and a Texas barbecue joint) and bars galore, from open-air haunts for fluorescent cocktails or a cigar lounge that suits having a smoke and a Scotch. From the very top, strap yourself in for Speedway, a daring go-kart track, or shoot down the Ocean Loops waterslide, which extends over the edge of the ship. And – since you are in the Caribbean, after all – there's a huge pool on deck 16, bordered by rows of sun loungers, plus a separate children's pool. Just as cruise ships have evolved over the years, so have family holidays. According to the latest 'Holiday Habits' report from Abta, a UK-based trade association for travel agents and tour operators, families continue to go on more holidays than any other 'age group or life stage'; the research also found that cruises are gaining in popularity among holidaymakers with children – those travelling with under-16s said that they are most attracted to the 'opportunity to visit multiple destinations in one trip', value for money and the 'safe and secure travel experience' that a cruise offers. For Martin, his getaway on the other side of the Atlantic was a far cry from his childhood breaks. 'The first time I ever went abroad was on a Freddie Laker jet to Benidorm,' he told me. 'I'd grown up with Butlins and Pontins, the holiday camps, with my parents and brother. Getting to do anything like going on a cruise, going around the Caribbean, with family – that to me is luxury.' Roman's response felt slightly less profound, but understandable: 'I loved seeing Dad dancing under the waterfall, recreating the Peter Andre 'Mysterious Girl' moment,' Roman joked. My own Nineties reenactments were somewhat hampered by my son, with a focus more on maintaining a nap schedule between stints in the sun, and profusely apologising to staff for the mess left under the highchair after each meal (knowing I'd be back tomorrow for more of the same). But the Kemps and I agreed about passengers from the US – and the stiff upper lip reserve of Brits. 'We only bumped into a couple of Brits. Americans know how to enjoy themselves – it is contagious,' said Martin, and the younger Kemp agreed. 'Americans really throw themselves into cruise life – we loved it. 'All Brits should go on a cruise.' Had I been travelling alone or with friends, would I have joined the 'sexy legs' competition or 'Thriller' dancing sessions? Without a child in my care, I certainly would have cracked open a beer by midday, so the answer to those questions is more likely yes. The on-board shenanigans are only half the fun – the rest comes from disembarking in a new destination. Considering my son's age restricted our options, it was still jam-packed. Heading out on foot, sans guide, around Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, spotting street art and watching the waves. A day split between a maritime park and munching tropical fruit on the beach in the US Virgin Islands. Another beach day in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) – he's now quite the waterbaby. The Kemps were able to be a little more high-octane, with one excursion combining a zipline, all-terrain vehicle tour and jungle hike to the cascading Damajagua Waterfalls in the Dominican Republic. Another took them across the BVI's Sir Francis Drake Channel to Norman Island for snorkelling. 'You tick off so many places you've always wanted to go to, and so quickly,' said Roman. 'Some of the stops that we made, the islands, were just incredible.' It's not just that, though, added Martin: 'You go to really different places. The destinations are often quite a few miles apart so it's like you're flying between them but you're doing it in luxury' 'You get to experience short bursts of a new place. They're really good samples of where you want to go next.' And doesn't my son know it – he doesn't even know how lucky he is, more stamps in his passport than teeth in his mouth. But the importance of travel is something to instil early, if you have the means. 'I always have this innate fear that when it comes to the end, I'll think back and go 'did I see as much as I could?'... I want to be able to see as much as I possibly can,' said Roman. 'Nothing is more valuable, I think, than travel.' And for Martin? The cruise reminded him how nice it was to travel with family – admitting he'd 'love' to do another cruise. I've already got my next trip planned with the mini swashbuckler – you never know, we might bump into the Kemps. Roman and Martin Kemp teamed up with Norwegian Cruise Line for a multigenerational voyage with NCL's 'More at Sea' package – an upgrade that gives guests speciality dining, wifi credits, discounts towards shore excursions and unlimited beverages (including on NCL's private island, Great Stirrup Cay).

The One Show fans gasp 'how has he got away with that?!' after spotting VERY crude message on Grayson Perry's necklace
The One Show fans were surprised when they spotted a very crude message on Grayson Perry's necklace. Monday's episode of the BBC evening programme was hosted by co-presenters Alex Jones, 48, and Roman Kemp, 32. The pair welcomed actress Christina Hendricks, 50, presenter Katie Derham, 54, and artist Sir Grayson Perry, 65. Grayson wore a yellow t-shirt, colourful trousers, pink Crocs and wide-rimmed glasses. However, his choice of accessory - a pink heart necklace - shocked some when they realised the what the symbols spelled out. The piece of jewellery, which featured a gold chain and a heart with a 'W' and an anchor engraved on it which seemed to spell out w****r. It caught the attention of some viewers who took to social media and one said: 'Interesting choice of necklace Grayson's wearing #TheOneShow.' Another added, 'Anybody noticed Grayson Perry's necklace? W #TheOneShow,' followed by an anchor and laughing face emojis. '#theoneshow how is he allowed to wear that,' someone else said. Another penned: 'Shall see if Grayson's necklace lasts the show #theoneshow.' Someone else added: 'How's Grayson got away with that necklace?! #theoneshow.' While one viewer said: 'Love Grayson, but that necklace is very naughty. #theoneshow.' During the show, Grayson let slip a swear word when discussing the BBC Proms. He said: 'My best experience when I went, a friend invited me into a box and I'd had a drink and the music started, it was Tchaikovsky, a violin concerto, I think, and I was just in floods. 'Because back in the day of vinyl in the corner of the studio when I was at art school, that was probably the only record that wasn't scratched b*****y. It caught the attention of some viewers who took to social media and one said: 'Interesting choice of necklace Grayson's wearing #TheOneShow.' 'So I just burst into floods of tears and then after that I think it was the Elgar piece, I think I was just gone.' Host Roman was forced to apologise for the language, as the programme airs from 7pm to 8pm, before the 9pm watershed. 'Apologies for any fruity language we had there as well, of course,' Roman added, as Alex quipped, 'Grayson!' The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One from 7pm and is available to stream on iPlayer.

Maverick Sabre teases collaboration with Rizzle Kicks as he reveals he has 'something special' planned at Glastonbury
Irish singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre has teased a potential collaboration with British band Rizzle Kicks as he reveals he has 'something special' planned for his upcoming appearance at Glastonbury festival. The musician appeared on a Vodafone advert with the One Show presenter Roman Kemp and Harley Alexander-Sule, 33, from the hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks. Roman, 32, asked the Let Me Go singer: 'So you guys have got something in common this summer. You're both playing Glastonbury festival. What's the connection going to be like there? I mean are you linking up? What's the deal?' Maverick, 34, cryptically replied: 'We'll figure out something special.' It has set tongues wagging amongst music fans who are convinced the friends will take the stage together for a joint performance. Mama Do The Hump singers Rizzle Kicks are performing on The Other Stage on Friday 27th June, while Maverick is playing on the Lonely Hearts Club stage the following day. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The news that Rizzle Kicks were performing at Glastonbury Festival was accidentally announced in April. Harley's band mate Jordan Stephens, 33, appeared on Arsenal's YouTube channe and was forced to make the revelation. Radio host Roman Kemp caused the mishap when he said outright to Jordan, 'You're playing Glastonbury this year,' to which the singer interrupted and said: 'I haven't actually announced that yet…' Harley has previously opened up about his 'crippling anxiety' and confessed he still feels 'awful' for cancelling the band's tour in 2016. The British musician admitted he 'couldn't visualise' doing a tour after he suffered from a panic attack on stage. Speaking to Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast, the star said: 'I thought I was (having) a f*****g heart attack. Then we had a tour (which we) had to cancel because I just couldn't visualise doing that,' 'I still feel f*****g awful about that, but at the time, I had to take care of myself.' He then opened up on how his anxiety took control of his life and caused him to spiral into a 'deep depression'. He admitted: 'That anxiety spilled into everything, every part of my life, you know, I couldn't get on the tube.' 'It kind of caused me to spiral into quite a deep, deep depression.' 'Because the thing I love doing, being a performer, being an artist, being a person who likes being around other creative people, was like, zapped away from me,' 'And I was kind of left with, this idea of who I used to be and that longing to be that person again, but with the physical incapability of doing so.' It comes as Rizzle Kicks's Jordan Stephens celebrated his five years with his girlfriend, the Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall. The pop star, 32, and her Rizzle Kicks rapper boyfriend first sparked a romance after he asked a mutual friend to set them up back in 2019. Jade then took matters into her own hands, dropping Jordan a DM on Instagram asking for his 'pitch'. A few Zoom dates later the smitten couple were making their first public appearance together at a July 2020 Black Trans Lives Matter rally where they were pictured arm-in-arm. Five years on and the couple are still going strong - with Jade and Jordan appearing as loved-up as ever as she shared a gushing tribute to him on their anniversary. As their dog scurried past the camera, the video posted on TikTok showed a pyjama-clad Jade surprising her boyfriend in bed with a bunch of flowers and balloons to mark the special day. The post then cut to a compilation of Jade's favourite videos of Jordan, including smitten clips of the couple recording music, dancing and goofing around together. The spark seems very much still alive between the two musicians, who appeared completely smitten as they celebrated their milestone. A host of fans took to the comments section to congratulate their 'favourite couple' on five years together. They wrote: 'Happy anniversary to my favourite chaotic couple love you', 'I'm so happy for you both! It's been such a privilege to witness your relationship and love for each other! Thank you for giving us these glimpses into your life', 'This man is just a walking green flag I love that for you! He just gets it how humans are supposed to be', 'Couple goals. Fully supporting each other without the need to justify yourselves. Beautiful. A couple like no other.'

Soccer Aid star Roman Kemp broke Welsh rugby hero's finger in charity match
Soccer Aid star Roman Kemp broke Welsh rugby hero's finger in charity match Roman Kemp is back for Soccer Aid 2025 and has history when it comes to celebrity football matches Soccer Aid's Roman Kemp (Image: PA ) Soccer Aid regular Roman Kemp will once again be donning his boots this weekend, turning out for England against the Rest of the World XI at Old Trafford on Sunday. Wearing the Three Lions on his chest makes a change for the popular One Show and radio presenter. In past Soccer Aids, the Los Angeles-born Kemp has turned out for the Rest of the World side thanks to his dual citizenship. Having played in 2019 and 2020, he was forced to pull out in 2021 after testing positive for Covid-19. However, he made his return to the match last year before switching allegiances this year. Famous father's health battle and money struggles In the debut episode of his 'You About?' podcast with friend and Soccer Aid team-mate Tom Grennan, Kemp opened up on having famous parents. His dad is Spandau Ballet bassist and EastEnders star Martin Kemp, while his mum is Shirlie Kemp of Pepsi & Shirlie fame. Tom quizzed his friend about the media presence in his younger years, prompting Roman to speak about how his dad suffered from a serious health condition and had to undergo operations "for his brain". Article continues below "You've got two ways of looking at it, basically," he said. "Like, it's one or the other. Like, my parents like had us in flipping OK! and Hello magazine when we were kids, right? "But that's because my parents had no money at the time, because my dad had all these operations and s**t for his brain, so they were trying to get more money, right?" During a medical examination in 1997, an MRI revealed that Martin had two brain tumours, one of which was removed with surgery, while the other was addressed via radiotherapy. Although these operations proved successful, the side effects continue to this day, with the musician suffering from epilepsy. Martin also struggles with dyslexia, while, in November 2024, he made a stark revelation about his brain tumour battle, suggesting that he believes he has just 10 years left to live. Injuring a Welsh rugby legend As well as Soccer Aid, Roman has experience with charity football matches - although one saw him injure a Welsh rugby legend. Last year, Kemp was up against former Wales wing Shane Williams in a match in aid of Josh's Smile and The Bradley Lowery Foundation. Celebrities and former sportsmen from the countries competed against one another at the Stadium in a Wales v England clash. Rugby legend Williams arrived a tad late for the fixture, having taken part on the CARTEN 100-mile bike ride in the morning from Cardiff to Tenby. He darted back to Swansea for the game but managed to do some damage to one of his digits soon after. Posting to Instagram after the match, Williams said: "Well that was a busy Saturday! Carten ride then Joseph's Smile UK Wales v England footy match at Stadium. All for brilliant causes. Wales 2 England 0 by the way! Dislocated finger and pulled hamstring to boot! What can you do… I had fun!" It turns out that the dislocated finger was caused by radio and TV star Kemp, who, in Williams' words, "absolutely clattered" him. "I did the CARTEN bike ride, it was about 23 degrees, it was a warm one," Williams explained on the Sportin Wales podcast. Article continues below "I had the factor 50 on my bald spots as well. I managed to survive that, and then I had to get down to the Stadium for the Joseph's Smile charity match that I promised I would do. I was late, I got there at half-time, cameo role. Got on, and lucky enough to have the pleasure of playing in the stadium again. Good crowd down there which was nice. "I got clattered by Roman Kemp and dislocated my finger, which is not one of the highlights of my sporting career to be honest with you! Then pulled my hamstring. But we won 2-0 so that was the main thing."
