Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge To Launch In India Tomorrow

The Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge, a high-performance version of the ultra-luxurious car, made its global debut earlier this year. The British manufacturer is now ready to introduce the car to the Indian market. This event marks a significant occasion for both the Indian market and the brand, as the Spectre is the first electric vehicle ever produced with an RR badge. Moreover, the changes accompanied by the Black Badge make it the most powerful EV from the automaker. Starting with the specs, the Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge gets the same 102 kWh battery pack used in the standard version. With the special version, the power has been kicked up to 659 hp and 1075 Nm, which is transferred to all four wheels. This is an extra 82 hp and 175 Nm unlocked using a new Infinity Mode. Using this power, the car can go from a standstill to 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds. Even with this performance, the range stands between 493 to 530 km on a single charge. To accommodate the performance, the brand has revised the chassis, increased the steering weight, and roll stabilisation system for better handling while also offering the ride comfort expected of a Rolls-Royce. The brand has also adjusted the dampers to prevent squatting under heavy acceleration. These parameters are changed when using different drive modes to optimise the handling and performance of the vehicle. Just like any other Rolls-Royce, it maintains the Spirit of Ecstasy and comes with the Pantheon grille surrounded by a Polished Black layer. The same mirror-polished black layer covers the side window surrounds and the door handles. At the time of its debut, the Spectre Black Badge had a new Vapour Violet paint. But of course, the consumers will get to choose from 44,000 colour options. This comes paired with 23-inch five-spoke forged wheels. On the inside, the Spectre Black Badge gets a 'starlit' cabin consisting of 5,500 stars forming something what the automaker calls illuminated fascia. This is complemented by five themes for the instrument cluster, including Vivid Grellow, Neon Nights, Cyan Fire, Ultraviolet, and Synth Wave. Meanwhile, the other bits of the cabin can also be customised as per the driver's taste.

Special wishes: Invited clients can co-create their dream Rolls-Royce at special creative hubs in cities such as Dubai, Shanghai and Seoul. PHOTO: ROLLS-ROYCE MOTOR CARS Unique Rose Rolls-Royce is keen to show how far it can go to cater to the special requests of clients. The Rolls-Royce Spectre Rose is a customised creation featuring rose motifs on the upholstery and a unique exterior. The company says the car was commissioned by a prominent client in the Middle East for her daughter. To achieve the desired effect, the craftsmen at Rolls-Royce created a new embroidery technique. Two shades of pink threads are blended, using a satin stitch to create a subtle gradient such that the embroidered roses have a three-dimensional look. A single hand-painted pink coach line runs along the flank of the Spectre. Around the world, Rolls-Royce has set up special creative hubs in places such as Dubai, Shanghai and Seoul, where invited clients can work with a designer to create their dream car. More efficient SUV Upgraded: The BMW iX now has more power and a longer operating range. PHOTO: BMW The BMW iX has been subtly updated for more power and higher efficiency. Along with these changes under its skin, it wears a new face – starting with the redesigned front grille with diagonal stripes – similar to the new X3. As with some of the newer BMWs, the border of the grille is now illuminated. The refreshed iX's daytime running lights in the headlamps are set at an angle, also taking reference from the newer generation of BMWs. The updated electric sport utility vehicle has 300kW, which is 60kW more than its previous rendition. This cuts the 0-100kmh sprint time to 5.1 seconds, an improvement of 1 second. In terms of operating range, the iX xDrive45 claims to be able to travel 602km before needing a recharge. This is up from 425km on the pre-updated iX xDrive40 model. Charging speed has also been upgraded from 150kW to 175kW. Hot voltage hatchback Performance EV: The Peugeot E-208 GTi is the brand's first electric hot hatchback. PHOTO: STELLANTIS French brand Peugeot is betting that it can transfer the appeal and character of the GTi badge from its combustion-engine models to the electric age with its new E-208 GTi. The five-door hatchback is one size smaller than the Volkswagen Golf GTI , but quicker. The Peugeot's 209kW front-mounted motor gives the car a 0-100kmh sprint time of 5.7 seconds, versus 6.6 seconds for the petrol-powered Volkswagen. The front axle has a limited-slip differential to enhance handling. The car's wheel tracks are wider than the standard E-208 hatchback. Both the suspension set-up and electronic stability program have been tuned to suit the GTi's more aggressive brief. The E-208 GTi is the first model to be fully designed by Peugeot Sport, the performance arm of Peugeot. The car has big shoes to fill, considering the high bar set by the Peugeot 205 GTi from the 1980s, long regarded as among the best hot hatchbacks in automotive history. Six-seater Bentley on auction MPV of sorts: Special Bentley Mulsanne is a six-seater limousine. PHOTO: COLLECTING CARS The Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine is an official model from the British luxury car brand and not an aftermarket conversion . The wheelbase has been stretched by 1,000mm and the height raised by 79mm. One of supposedly 12 units made , it has been listed in June on Collecting Cars, an online auction site. It has six individual seats; the two in the middle row are rear-facing. A privacy partition with adjustable opacity separates the front seats from the rest of the cabin. An intercom system and a quilted headliner split by a wood-veneered central spine, which houses the lighting and controls, are among other features that set the car apart from the regular Mulsanne. Mechanically, the Grand Limousine is identical to the standard Mulsanne, with a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V8 engine powering the rear wheels. Our ‘soulless' high street is being demolished & rebuilt as swish new ‘town of the future' – it's a LONG overdue change

TOTAL TRANSFORMATION Our 'soulless' high street is being demolished & rebuilt as swish new 'town of the future' – it's a LONG overdue change Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOCALS are celebrating the rebuilding of their town high street after it was dubbed 'soulless' and in desperate need of change. 4 Residents can't wait for their high street to receive a long overdue upgrade Credit: 360architecture In 1947, East Kilbride held the title of Scotland's first ever 'new town', however, less than 80 years later, it is being knocked down. 4 The town is famed for its large number of roundabouts Credit: Alamy Located just south of Glasgow, the proposals for the town centre could see more than a third of the town demolished. This would make way for an impressive new supermarket measuring 40,000 feet, a hotel and a public square. Local, Danny Fitzpatrick, 33, told the Metro: 'The town has had some really tough times in the last two decades, but I hope and believe there is a kind of renaissance on the horizon.' Danny was born and raised in the town and feels hopeful about the South Lanarkshire Council's new proposals. As he reflected on growing up in the area, he explained that the town used to be an 'epicentre.' But added: 'It isn't a shadow of what it used to be.' In 1930, East Kilbride was home to just 900 residents. But thanks to being selected as one of the five new towns in Scotland to serve as the solution to the post-war housing shortage, over the span of a few decades the town completely transformed. Now with a population of roughly 75,000 the post-war scheme equipped the once small village with council offices, a police station, and even Scotland's first Olympic size swimming pool. It has even been affectionately nicknamed 'Polo Mint City,' due to its extensive roundabout system. 4 Architects hope this will help the town rediscover its identity Credit: East Kilbride Council 4 Today, all traces of the town's industrial heritage have gone Credit: Alamy However, over the last 20 years, East Kilbride has been suffering, with many businesses closing and locals labelling the town centre "grim." Among those to pack up and leave the area were the Motorola factory in 2009, Rolls-Royce in 2015, and the main shopping centre in 2022. But Danny remains optimistic, saying: 'The Rolls-Royce days may be over, but I think the future is good for EK.' The council plans to spend a staggering £62,200,000 on the project, in a bid to make use of the more than 500,000 square feet of empty space across East Kilbride. Threesixty Architecture, the company fronting these new plans, argue that the last decade has seen towns across the UK suffer. Worsened even further by Covid, they claim that retail is on the decline, leaving areas like East Kilbride to suffer. The document reads: 'The master plan is the opportunity for the town to rediscover its identity and purpose.' The Sun has approached South Lanarkshire Council and Threesixty Architecture for comment.
