Visit of the LAF Commander to the French Republic
Friday, 20 June 2025 The LAF Commander General Rodolph Haykal visited France on the 17th and 18th of June 2025, at the official invitation of his French counterpart, Chief of the Staff of the French Armed Forces General Thierry Burkhard. The visit aimed to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in addressing current challenges and to present the LAF's needs. General Haykal also attended an official reception at the residence of the French Minister of Defense, Sébastien Lecornu. During the visit, General Haykal met with his French counterpart at the French Armed Forces Headquarters, where he was accorded official honors. They discussed recent developments and underscored the importance of the longstanding partnership and enhancing cooperation between the Lebanese and French armies, as well as maintaining close coordination within the framework of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). General Haykal also toured the Planning and Operations Command Center at the French Armed Forces Headquarters. Additionally, General Haykal visited the 55th Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, where he met with senior officials from the French Ministry of Armed Forces.

Visit of the LAF Commander to the Fouad Chehab Command and Staff College
Thursday, 12 June 2025 The LAF Commander General Rodolph Haykal met with the officers of the 39th Command and Staff Course ahead of their graduation, as well as the officers of the 62nd Battalion Commander Course, at the Fouad Chehab Command and Staff College. The meeting was held in the presence of the College Commander, Brigadier General Mohammad Bitar, and its officers. During the meeting, General Haykal congratulated the graduating officers of the Command and Staff Course, noting that successfully completing the course is a significant milestone that marks the beginning of a new phase in their military careers, during which they will play a vital role in major units — preparing them to assume future leadership positions. In conclusion, the LAF Commander expressed his deep appreciation for the Fouad Chehab Command and Staff College, commending its dedicated efforts and the remarkable progress it has achieved.

PM Salam meets ministers and Army chief to assess fallout from Israeli strikes on Iran

Wednesday, 11 June 2025 The Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Rodolph Haykal, visited the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters in Naqoura, where he met with the Head of Mission and Force Commander, Lieutenant General Aroldo Lázaro. During the meeting, the latest developments in the Southern Litani Sector were discussed, as well as the importance of close coordination and cooperation between the LAF and UNIFIL within the framework of Resolution 1701. The essential role of UNIFIL in efforts to restore stability in the south was highlighted, amid ongoing Israeli attacks and violations of Lebanon's sovereignty and security, as well as the occupation of Lebanese territories, which hindered the LAF's full deployment in the south.
