Blake Lively gets gushing tribute from sister Robyn after shock Justin Baldoni ruling
Blake Lively received a gushing message of support from her sister Robyn after Justin Baldoni 's $400 million countersuit against her was dismissed. On Monday, Judge Lewis J. Liman - currently serving on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York - threw out Baldoni's defamation and extortion lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times. The judge found that Lively's statements were made within privileged court documents and therefore could not serve as the basis for Baldoni's claims. The legal battle stems from December 2024, when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment on set - allegations he denied - prompting him and Wayfarer Studios to file a defamation suit against Lively, Reynolds, and her publicist Leslie Sloane, which all three have denied. After the ruling, online attention quickly shifted to Judge Liman's family ties: he is the brother of Hollywood director Doug Liman, who worked with Lively in 2008 when she and then-boyfriend Penn Badgley appeared in a pro-Obama commercial directed by Liman for Youth Vote program. Apparently in response to the decision, Robyn, 53, posted a string of glowing messages about Blake, 37, to her Insta Stories, which Blake reposted. 'I held you then...,' Robyn wrote alongside a throwback photo of her hugging her sister, then added: '...now,' with a more recent snap of them cuddling up to one another, followed by: '...and always,' with a picture of them holding hands in Paris. 'No one knows you quite like I do, and man am I ever proud of you. I love you sister,' wrote Robyn, concluding her testimonial. Reposting the images to her own Insta Stories, Blake reacted: 'I love you more. Always. Forever. Near or far. Closer together.' Social media buzzed about the bizarre link after an X user posted, 'FUN FACT: the Judge that dismissed Justin Baldoni's claims against Blake Lively is Lewis Liman, brother to Hollywood director, Doug Liman Doug and Blake worked together years ago, small world.' Some users responded by accusing Lively and Reynolds of wielding influence behind the scenes, calling for Judge Liman to have recused himself. Another added, 'I don't understand how he could preside then. That's a conflict of interest I'd assume.' Others dismissed the controversy as overblown, noting that Lively's only connection to Doug Liman was a brief appearance in a commercial nearly two decades ago. As one user wrote: 'Because his brother directed a show with thousands of actors 18 years ago, his years of being a lawyer and judge become invalid? Y'all are delusional and ridiculous.' Another echoed, 'You think this judge would dismiss a lawsuit because Blake did a COMMERCIAL with his brother? Lmfao.' has not received a response to its request for comment from either Lively or Baldoni's representatives. Judge Lewis J. Liman currently serves on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, having been confirmed to the bench in December 2019 after a distinguished legal career that included roles as an Assistant United States Attorney and Deputy Chief of Appeals in the same district, according to Coulder Institute. A graduate of Harvard College (1983), Liman also holds an with distinction in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a J.D. from Yale Law School. His brother Doug pursued a career in film, directing major Hollywood projects such as The Bourne Identity franchise, indie films like Swingers and Locked Down, and working with Tom Cruise on Live Die Repeat and American Made. While social media users continue to debate the issue, there has been no clear indication of a legal conflict of interest in this situation at this time. On Monday, Lively released a statement hours after Judge Liman dismissed Baldoni's case. Lively, who shares four children with husband Ryan Reynolds, vowed that she was 'more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman's right to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their dignity and their story.' 'With love and gratitude for the many who stood by me, many of you I know,' Lively said. 'Many of you I don't. But I will never stop appreciating or advocating for you.' Liman dismissed Baldoni's suit alleging defamation and extortion on the basis that all Lively's allegations were made within privileged court papers. Liman said in the order obtained by 'The Wayfarer Parties have not alleged that Lively is responsible for any statements other than the statements in her CRD complaint, which are privileged. 'The Wayfarer Parties have alleged that Reynolds and [publicist Leslie] Sloane made additional statements accusing Baldoni of sexual misconduct and that the Times made additional statements accusing the Wayfarer Parties of engaging in a smear campaign. 'But the Wayfarer Parties have not alleged that Reynolds, Sloane or the Times would have seriously doubted these statements were true based on the information available to them, as is required for them to be liable for defamation under applicable law. 'The Wayfarer Parties' additional claims also fail. Accordingly, the Amended Complaint must be dismissed in its entirety.' The judge ruled: 'The Times reviewed the available evidence and reported, perhaps in a dramatized manner, what it believed to have happened. The Times had no obvious motive to favor Lively's version of events.' Liman, however, did state the Wayfarer Parties will be able to file a second amended complaint by June 23, 2025 but are only able to amend the allegations 'relevant to the claims of tortious interference with contract and breach of implied covenant.' Lively in December sued Baldoni amid claims of sexual harassment during production of the motion picture. In her lawsuit, the Gossip Girl alum accused Baldoni of sexually harassing her in multiple ways — including body shaming her — and orchestrating a smear campaign against her to damage her reputation. Baldoni and his reps have said in response to the lawsuit that Lively twisted the meaning of text messages and mislead the public about their interactions while making the motion picture. In her lawsuit, Lively named a number of Baldoni's collaborators, including his company Wayfarer Studios, the studio's CEO and financial backer, and PR personnel Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel. Baldoni subsequently sued the newspaper for $250 million in a defamation claim over a December 21 story titled '"We Can Bury Anyone": Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine ;' the newspaper has denied the allegations. Baldoni on January 16 Baldoni told the court the trio had concocted 'false accusations of sexual harassment' against him.

Ryan Reynolds Fires Off Hilarious 'Diagnosis' for Neil Patrick Harris in DEADPOOL VR Response Video — GeekTyrant
Ryan Reynolds has officially broken his silence on being replaced as Deadpool in the new Marvel's Deadpool VR game, and in true Wade Wilson fashion, he did it with maximum sarcasm, a lab coat, and a pitch-perfect jab at Doogie Howser, M.D. Meta's upcoming VR title for Quest 3 and 3S sees How I Met Your Mother and Doogie Howser star Neil Patrick Harris taking over as the Merc with a Mouth, and Reynolds wasn't about to let that slide without a fourth-wall-breaking response. In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Reynolds resurrects the classic Doogie end-of-episode monologue format, complete with a painfully retro computer and that famous journal entry setup to air his grievances. Dressed in a lab coat and typing furiously, Reynolds deadpans: 'Today, I learned a lesson about buttholes they don't teach you in medical school. People who steal your signature role are the biggest buttholes of all.' The room Reynolds is typing in is made to look like Doogie's childhood bedroom. The voiceover continues with a faux coming-of-age revelation that perfectly toes the line between admiration and absolute Deadpool-level pettiness: 'No, I don't blame Meta Quest. Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel, but even though I haven't hit puberty yet, I still know when you're getting totally screwed.' But the real kicker comes when Robyn Lively crashes the scene yelling 'House call!', a deep cut callback for Doogie Howser fans, as Lively played Michele Faber on the show. She also just happens to be Blake Lively's sister, making this bit extra awkward when Reynolds calls her his 'girlfriend,' then immediately panics about what her dad might say. Lively hits him with the cold truth: 'You're a 48-year-old man.' Cue a hilarious exchange about paychecks, insults, and one of Reynolds' most Deadpool-y retorts: 'I disagree with that diagnosis.' Before the clip wraps, we get a quick cut to the actual Marvel's Deadpool VR game trailer, then right back to Reynolds, still in Doogie cosplay, leaning in for an awkward kiss before stopping himself: 'We can't. You're my sister-in-law.' Lively shoots back with a flat, 'You're dumb.' It's a perfectly chaotic little video that will have you laughing.

Ryan Reynolds shares mock video reaction to having Deadpool role ‘stolen' by Neil Patrick Harris
Ryan Reynolds has shared a comic video reacting to having the role of Deadpool 'stolen' a forthcoming video game about the character. Marvel's Deadpool VR, a new game for the Meta Quest 3 and 3S platforms, was announced at Summer Game Fest 2025 this week – and will see Broadway star Neil Patrick Harris voice the comic book character that Reynolds has played on screen since 2009. Just hours after the trailer for Marvel's Deadpool VR was released online, Reynolds shared a video in which he can be seen 'over-reacting' to the news. In the video, Reynolds can be seen wearing a lab coat and glasses, in an apparent imitation of Harris in the latter's star-making role, as a teenage physician in the sitcom Doogie Howser, MD. Journaling on his personal computer, Reynolds writes: 'Today, I learned a lesson about buttholes they don't teach you in medical school. 'People who steal your signature role are the biggest buttholes of all,' he continues. 'No, I don't blame Meta Quest. Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel, but even though I haven't hit puberty yet, I still know when you're getting totally screwed.' Reynolds is then interrupted by the appearance of Robyn Lively, who tells him that he's being 'vindictive and stupid'. Lively, the half-sister of Reynolds' wife Blake Lively, appeared in Doogie Howser as a nursing student who dates Harris's character. Fans reacted positively to the video on social media, with one person writing: 'Ryan is a goat for this.' 'It's funny that most people don't realise he's parodying NPH's old show as revenge for taking the Deadpool role. But, it also just reminds me how old I am because I instantly recognised the reference,' another wrote. 'It's like they didn't even ASK him. Because you know Ryan would've PAID to do the voice,' someone else claimed. Reynolds has portrayed the character of Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, in four feature films: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) Deadpool (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018) and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024). While Reynolds was not one of the many names announced to star in the forthcoming Avengers sequel, it is widely expected that Reynolds will reprise the character in a future Marvel film.
