Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski's Lombardi Trophy prank ends in disaster

and Rob Gronkowski 's reunion with Lombardi Trophy ended in disaster on Friday. The pair headlined a star-studded lineup at Fanatics Fest in New York City, joining the likes of Peyton Manning, Kevin Durant, Derek Jeter and Livvy Dunne. However, the former New England Patriots teammates left fans stunned for all the wrong reasons with their antics. A viral clip shared by Jordan Schultz captured the pair breaking the Lombardi Trophy with their game of catch. Thankfully, it appeared to be a mere replica. In a corridor, the former quarterback, surrounded by fans, attempted to prove that his connection with the retired tight end was still as strong as it had been during their playing days. He tossed the trophy towards Gronkowski, who caught it - only just. Gronkowski, who followed Brady to Tampa Bay in 2020, clasped the football-shaped top of the trophy as the base broke off and hit the floor. Tom Brady and Gronk just broke the Lombardi! 😱 (via @michaelrubin, @TomBrady) — Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) June 20, 2025 'You broke it,' Brady could be heard shouting at Gronkowski as the two studied the broken trophy. 'You are washed up. I'm going home.' The duo hoisted four Lombardi Trophies during their playing days together, three in New England and one with the Buccaneers. Brady is no stranger to a Lombardi toss, having launched the trophy from a boat during the Buccaneers' 2020 Super Bowl win. However, that time, the trophy managed to safely find the hands of Cameron Brate. The game of catch wasn't Brady's only pank at Fanatics Fest Friday. The seven-time Super Bowl champion brutally trolled his former rival Eli Manning by ripping his New York Giants jersey in half. Brady spoke to some of the crowd at Manhattan's Javits Center before then taking part in a WWE-style performance later on. The Fox commentator came out to the theme song of pro wrestler Cody Rhodes wearing sunglasses and carrying a WWE-style championship belt. But, as he made his way down to the walkway, Brady was presented with a Giants jersey that had 'Manning 10' on the back. The former New England Patriots quarterback then ripped the jersey in half in a playful dig at Manning. Brady's actions prompted Manning, who was watching on, to storm the stage and climb on his rival's back. Their rivalry dates back to their stellar NFL careers, when Manning and the Giants were able to briefly halt the Patriots' dominant run to beat them in two Super Bowls.

Tom Brady embodies inner-heel, rips up Eli Manning jersey

Who would have ever thought legendary quarterback Tom Brady and World Wrestling Entertainment champion John Cena would both go heel (turn into a bad guy) in the same year? Brady made a grand entrance at Fanatics Fest in New York City on Friday. The event had a mini WWE entrance set, and the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback entered to former WWE champion Cody Rhodes' theme. Advertisement Brady came onstage and posed with the title on his shoulder. He then slowly made his way down the ramp, stopping to snatch a Sauce Gardner jersey from someone in the crowd, slamming it on the ground and spitting on it. As he made his way further down the ramp, he was handed an Eli Manning jersey. He held the jersey up for everyone to see and then ripped it in half. "Let's go," Brady yelled out to the crowd. Manning then came out of nowhere, jumped on Brady's back and rode him back up the ramp. It served as the perfect entertainment to kick-start the three-day event. Fanatics Fest NYC is a massive gathering featuring sports and collectibles. Fans from all over the world travel to the event to buy, sell and trade. They also have an opportunity to meet their favorite athletes and get exclusive merchandise. Advertisement Brady seemed to be in his element playing the villain role in the world of professional wrestling. His former teammate, Rob Gronkowski, had a Wrestlemania moment back in April 2017.
