Nebraska getting visit from four-star athlete this weekend Class of 2026 four-star athlete Jacob Eberhardt will visit Nebraska this weekend. This was reported by Tim Verghese on Tuesday. Eberhardt is the 216th overall player in the 2026 class, the fourth overall player in the state of Missouri, and the seventh overall player at his position per rankings. He measures in at six-foot-three, 210 pounds. Alabama, Oklahoma, and Missouri are also vying for Eberhardt's services. He has taken one previous visit to Lincoln, doing so on November 2. Currently, the 2026 Nebraska football recruiting class ranks 64th overall with five commitments per Rivals rankings. Eberhardt would be the second blue-chip commitment in the class, and give Nebraska football another talented athlete in the fold. This recruitment has a chance to lean heavily towards Nebraska, and another visit to Lincoln is certainly a step in the right direction for the program. Nebraska a frontrunner for class of 2027 Florida defensive back Nebraska football appears to be in a good spot for 2027 nickel back Kamauri Whitfield. The Huskers and the Florida Gators appear to be the top two teams standing out in his recruitment, according to John Garcia Jr. Whitfield is the 40th overall player in the state of Florida and the 14th overall player at his position per Rivals rankings. He has 25 offers in total, including from the likes of the Maryland Terrapins and the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten. The defensive back was an impact player last season for The First Academy. He tallied 35 tackles and an interception in 10 games last season, per statistics from Currently, the Huskers only have one commitment in the 2027 class in quarterback Trae Taylor. This is going to change, as the program has several visitors lined up for the next couple of weeks. Whitfield would give Nebraska a dynamic, athletic playmaker. Nebraska hosted 7 on 7 tournament praised by players and coaches Nebraska Football hosted the Battle of the Boneyard 7 on 7 tournament on Friday, and it is proving to be a success. Multiple 7 on 7 coaches have confirmed that other events have already reached out to learn how Nebraska is running the weekend. This was reported by Tim Verghese on Friday. Verghese also noted that this is the first-ever sponsored brand tournament on the Nebraska campus. The tournament itself was sponsored by Adidas. Class of 2027 Nebraska football quarterback commit Trae Taylor elected to be part of this, playing on the Miami Raw team. He had a productive day on Friday and was able to connect with fellow 2027 recruit Ahmad Hudson for multiple touchdowns. Hudson is the top tight end in the 2027 class per Rivals rankings. Several prominent figures in the NFL circle showed up as well. Former Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton came to Lincoln, as his 7 on 7 team, C1N was present. Former Nebraska football running back Ameer Abdullah also made an appearance on Friday. All in all, this appears to be another successful venture organized by the football program and athletic department. There should be a ton of news to come out of this weekend. The Huskers first offered Sone on January 16, and since then, he has received several offers, including from Big Ten schools Penn State and USC.
