Four new red light cameras coming to Brantford

(Rich Garton/CTV Windsor News) Drivers will soon be forced to pay up for blowing through a red light in Brantford. Four new red light cameras will be up and running as of July 1. The new locations include: Lynden Road at Wayne Gretzky Parkway West Street at Fairview Drive Dunsdon Street at Park Road North King George Road at Charing Cross/Queensway Drive In a release, the city said the locations were chosen based on traffic safety data, including collision frequency and severity. The fine for running a red light is set at $325. The fine is issued to the owner of the vehicle, regardless of who is driving it at the time. The city currently has six other red light cameras.

Members of the WPS Traffic Enforcement Unit conducted a joint enforcement operation in conjunction with the OPP at several locations along the expressway on Wednesday. A total of 84 tickets were issued for speeding, equipment violations, and other violations.
