Additional VIP Standing Tickets For EXO Baekhyun's KL Concert Spark Safety Concerns
For concerts, fans would typically be excited to hear of additional ticket sales because that usually means more chances to see their favourite performer. However, adding seats isn't always the best move, especially for the crowd's safety. Yesterday (17th June 2025, Tuesday), the general sale for EXO (엑소) member Baekhyun's (백현) solo concert in Kuala Lumpur went live. Given his popularity, it's no surprise that most tickets sold out within hours. However, some eagle-eyed fans noticed that the concert organiser, iMe Malaysia, had added additional tickets for the VIP zone, bumping the total number of standing area tickets to roughly 3,800. While fans would usually be happy about additional tickets, this move sparked concern. For those unaware, Baekhyun's 'Reverie' concert in KL will take place at the newly-opened Idea Live Arena at 3 Damansara Mall. The live hall is said to be the second-largest indoor arena in Malaysia after Axiata Arena. It can accommodate up to 7,000 people in a seated and standing configuration or 5,000 seated attendees. Unfortunately, fans argue that the concert hall might not accommodate all 3,000 plus fans in the standing area because some noted that the standing zone is smaller in person. This matter sparked safety concerns, leading fans to express disappointment towards iMe Malaysia, alleging they prioritise profit over safety. Some fans also brought up a past incident where fans at Wanna One's fan-meeting in KL fainted due to overcrowding. However, one netizen did reach out to Idea Live Arena to ask about the capacity of the concert hall. According to the spokesperson from the venue, the standing area can accommodate around 4,000 to 4,500 people, depending on the stage and zone configuration. Idea Live Arena also assured them that there will still be adequate moving space, even with 4,000 people in the standing zone, thus meeting concert venue safety standards. Despite the clarification, fans are still unhappy with how iMe Malaysia decided to add additional seats at the last minute. The company has yet to address the issue. Until then, we can only advise concert-goers to be cautious during the show. What are your thoughts on this? Tickets To EXO Baekhyun's Concert In Malaysia Sold Out Within Minutes
The onslaught of K-pop concerts happening in 2025 has raised major concerns over active scalpers buying off tickets on the official site. The main issue regarding scalpers revolves around problems such as the unfair resale rate of tickets as well as not giving fair chances for actual concert-goers to purchase tickets. Tickets for EXO (엑소) Baekhyun's (변백현) upcoming 'Reverie' concert in Kuala Lumpur officially went on sale today. Unfortunately, netizens are already reporting that it sold out within minutes. Now, questions were posed over the amount of scalpers, as well as ticketing site's problems which left many in queue for hours. Reports by netizens on social media showed that the two ticketing platforms, Fantopia and BookMyShow, had their own issues regarding statements of sold out tickets. While one site would display a sold out notice, the other would not process buyers in queue leaving fans stranded for hours. Netizens also fear the increasing amount of scalpers which could have access to bypass links enabling them to cut the queue to get into the buying site within minutes. This issue raises questions on how organisers can curb this issue in the future. Twitter user @/eternallyB04 comments 'Bring back offline ticketing, everything was smooth then', showcasing that digital ticket processing is even harder to acquire . With fans and resellers in the battle to secure tickets for their own, how do organisers keep track of scalpers while still being fair to everyone?
