Both students and professionals are welcome to join the accelerator; there are no location requirements, as all content is delivered virtually. The program has four different focus tracks for specialized program experience: The Classic Track: Open to innovators in any field, this track provides foundational training across industries. The ClimateTech Track: ClimateTech startups are placed with a like-minded cohort, matched with a clean energy mentor, and benefit from guest speakers working in the field. The AgTech Track: Agriculture technology startups will benefit from specialized training and connections with experts and potential partners working in the agriculture industry. The MedTech Track: Medical device startups receive mentorship and networking connections with experts working in the medical field. Why Rev Group Shares Are in the Fast Lane Today

Rev Group topped quarterly estimates, fueled by strong growth in its public safety vehicle division. The company's RV operations are feeling the strain of a weak consumer. Rev also raised full-year guidance, implying the company is confident business will continue to be strong in the quarters to come. 10 stocks we like better than Rev Group › Specialty vehicle manufacturer Rev Group (NYSE: REVG) topped quarterly analyst expectations, fueled by strong demand for its firefighting vehicles. Investors are hopping on board, sending Rev Group shares up 14% as of 10:30 a.m. ET. Rev is a maker of recreational vehicles (RVs) and specialty trucks including fire equipment, ambulances, and other public service vehicles. The company earned $0.70 per share in its fiscal second quarter ending April 30 on revenue of $629.1 million, surpassing Wall Street's consensus estimate of $0.57 per share on revenue of $603 million. Net cash provided by operations totaled $103.9 million in the first six months of Rev's fiscal year, compared to a $29.6 million cash use during the same period a year ago. RV sales fell 2.4% in the quarter due to lower shipments and increased dealer assistance, and segment backlog fell slightly. But that weakness was more than offset by a 3.8% jump in specialty vehicle sales, primarily driven by increased shipments of fire apparatus. The non-RV unit accounts for more than 70% of total sales and more than 90% of the company's backlog of future business. "The standout this quarter was the sustained year-over-year increase in manufacturing throughput within the fire group, which played a pivotal role in driving our top-line growth," CEO Mark Skonieczny said in a statement. "Within the quarter we utilized our robust cash flow and financial position to repurchase $88 million of shares, which we view as an attractive use of capital." Post-quarter Rev upped its full-year revenue guidance by $50 million and raised its free-cash-flow guidance to $100 million to $120 million, up from $90 million to $110 million. The quarter demonstrates the balance Rev can offer between the cyclical RV business and the steadier safety vehicle unit. With interest rates higher than in years past and questions about the economy, consumer demand for big-ticket items like RVs is weak. Investors should note that there is some risk that the federal government's push for efficiency could threaten local governments and lead to some weakness in vehicle purchases over time. But for now, it appears Rev still has some room to run. Army, Trump love a $40 million parade. But nothing is planned for Navy, Marines

Army, Trump love a $40 million parade. But nothing is planned for Navy, Marines Show Caption Hide Caption White House plans parade for Trump's bday, Army's 250th anniversary The White House is planning a massive military parade to celebrate the Army's 250th anniversary and President Donald Trump's 79th birthday. WASHINGTON — The Army's latest estimate for its major parade to celebrate its 250th anniversary – which falls on President Donald Trump's birthday – totals $40 million, including the cost of repairing streets in Washington, DC expected to be gnawed by tank treads. Meanwhile, the Navy, which also celebrates its 250th anniversary in October, has no plans for a similar parade, according to a spokesperson. The Marine Corps, too, has its 250th in November, and does not appear to have a parade on tap either. That leads a Democratic senator and member of the Armed Services Committee to believe that the June 14 parade featuring tanks, helicopters, warplanes and troops in period costume is as much about feeding Trump's ego as it is celebrating the Army's heritage. 'It is Donald Trump who is the focus of his own attention, and the Army birthday just happened to be a convenient excuse,' said Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Connecticut. 'He might well celebrate all our military services together since their birthdays are imminent. 'I'm all in favor of celebrating the anniversaries of our services in a more appropriate way but without the extravagant expenditure of funds that are vital to our military.' More: Tanks, cannons and soldiers sleeping in DC offices: Inside Trump birthday military parade The administration insists that the Army's anniversary and Trump's birthday are a coincidence and that the parade is justified to honor soldiers' sacrifice. Plans for the June 14 parade began in earnest about a month ago. 'The President is planning an historic celebration of the Army's 250th birthday that will honor generations of selfless Americans who have risked everything for our freedom,' Domestic Policy Council Director Vince Haley said in a statement last month. Trump told NBC in May that the parade's cost was, 'Peanuts compared to the value of doing it." The Army has acknowledged that the parade is costly, but says the expense justified. Tens of millions spent on a parade 'is dwarfed by 250 years of service and sacrifice by America's Army,' spokesman Steve Warren told reporters recently. The Army's initial estimate for the parade covered a range from $25 to $45 million. But as the event nears the estimate has been refined and includes damage to streets and infrastructure anticipated from heavy armored vehicles, according to a Defense official who was not authorized to speak publicly. It's unclear how much the Army has budgeted to repair expected damage. The $40 million in taxpayer dollars will fund a parade featuring Abrams tanks, vintage World War II warplanes and thousands of soldiers marching in period uniforms to mark the nation's battles from the Revolutionary War to the present. A reviewing stand is being erected for Trump south of the White House. Tanks shipped from Texas The Army is shipping tanks from Texas by railroad to Washington for the parade, and soldiers from other posts around the country. They will be housed downtown in government buildings transformed into makeshift barracks with thousands of cots. More: DC mayor worried tanks will chew up downtown streets in Army-Trump parade Military parades, especially France's annual Bastille Day celebration, have captivated Trump. But celebrations of military might are more common in authoritarian regimes. Every member of the Army participating in the parade, from private to general, will be expected to bunk in what the Army calls Life Support Areas, the official said. There are exceptions. Pvt. Doc Holliday being one. Doc is a blue heeler hound and 'cherished member of Horse Cavalry Detachment, according to the First Cavalry Division. Doc will be staying in a hotel with his handler, the official said.

WA's peak festival for indie filmmaking drops wild lineup

Internet boyfriend Pedrol Pascal and a Norwegian animated sex musical about sperm are two of the disparate array of treats in store for moviegoers at this year's Revelation Perth International Film Festival. WA's peak festival for indie filmmaking is renowned for alternative fare, but the event has outdone itself this year, boasting more than 45 features and documentaries and more than 100 short films. Among the highlights from this year's program is the aforementioned Pascal project, Eddington, a contemporary Western that doubles as a black comedy, which has sprung from the mind of horror auteur Ari Aster. Set during the COVID-19 pandemic, the film's star-studded cast also includes Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone and Austin Butler. As for that risque animated film, colourfully titled Spermageddon, it will surely appeal to fans of South Park and Seth Rogen's Sausage Party. For those who prefer their cinema a little more high-brow, Rev will also screen the British biographical drama Mr Burton, about the early life of Welsh acting legend Richard Burton. Rev can always be counted on for thought-provoking docos, and this year is no different, with Eno, a film about enigmatic music icon Brian Eno. Eddington is an American contemporary Western film starring Joaquin Phoenix (pictured), Pedro Pascal (pictured). Credit: supplied Other notable documentaries include the fascinatingly meta examination of the true crime genre, Zodiac Killer Project, and Chain Reactions, a film that explores the cultural impact of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Rev's commitment to the local screen industry is set to continue, with the return of Westralia Day, Get Your Shorts On! and the City of Vincent Film Project, three events focused on celebrating West Aussie content. While a dedicated First Nations showcase will honour Indigenous storytelling traditions and contemporary experiences. Revelation Perth International Film Festival runs July 2-13 at Luna Leederville, Luna on SX and the Backlot, and the full program is now available on the festival's website.
