ITV Good Morning Britain viewers concerned for host Richard Madeley minutes into ITV show
Fans all said the same thing about Richard Madeley's appearance on Good Morning Britain. Good Morning Britain fans expressed their concerns over Richard Madeley 's appearance just minutes into the ITV show airing on Wednesday morning. On the programme Richard and his co-presenter Susanna Reid discussed the latest headlines from across the UK and around the world. Talk turned to the serious disorder in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, as well as the Chancellor Rachel Reeves' upcoming spending review. After Martin Lewis' winter fuel scam warnings on Tuesday, the pair also showed viewers what to do to prevent becoming a victim. However, viewers were left distracted just minutes into the show as Richard had a sore throat, with Susanna quickly sharing her "concern" for her co-star. "I'm a bit concerned we're going to lose you through the programme," Susanna said to Richard, who pointed to his throat and replied: "What, this thing?" He added: "I think it'll get stronger through the programme. That's my prediction." Richard then said that he had been given some honey and water, and assured viewers that he'd be feeling better tomorrow. "If it's annoying you, I'm really sorry. Tomorrow it'll be better," he said. After tuning into the programme, fans flocked to social media to share their concern for Richard, with many questioning why ITV bosses didn't just replace him for the day. "Why on earth have you let Richard take the chair today when he can hardly talk?" one person wrote. Another added: "Richard Madeley sounds like Daddy Pig this morning," while a third said: "Richard's ill, should have replaced him today." A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: "Richard's voice is so hoarse." This is Richard's second health mishap this week as he revealed that he had sustained a double wrist fracture while in France over the weekend. Elsewhere on today's show, Richard and Susanna spoke to the UK's Eurovision entry, Remember Monday, who reflected on their time in Basel, Switzerland last month. The hosts also interviewed Reform UK's new chairman, David Bull, after he replaced Zia Yusuf, who quit the role last week following a clash with one of the party's MPs. ITV has been making significant reshuffling of its daytime TV line-up which will see GMB extended and Lorraine cut to half an hour. The 69-year-old presenter reportedly earns £300,000 per annum for his appearance on the breakfast programme. Richard seems to have successfully negotiated a new agreement with the broadcasters that will see him go part-time and drop down his salary. Nonetheless, Richard wasn't alone in facing potential dismissal as part of ITV's dramatic "bloodbath" shake-up of its daytime shows. Scots presenter Lorraine Kelly also found herself at risk and in it's been reported that she was "asked to retire" but rebuffed the idea.
