Saskatoon real state developer and philanthropist Joseph A. Remai has died
Saskatoon philanthropist and real estate developer, Joseph A. Remai, has died.
Family say he died last Thursday.
Remai was the founder of the Remai Group, a real estate investment, development, and management company he established in 1963.
Throughout his career, Remai donated millions of dollars to various causes and organizations. One of his most notable contributions was a $25 million donation to Saskatchewan Polytechnic's new Saskatoon campus last year.
The Remai Foundation, named in his honour, has also made contributions to the community, including purchasing medical equipment for local hospitals and supporting the establishment of Canada's Centre for Pandemic Research.
Remai was born and raised near Carrot River, Sask. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with degree in Civil Engineering.
