Ministry of Municipality to host Recycling Towards Sustainability Conference on June 25-26

The Ministry of Municipality (MoM) has announced the fifth edition of the Recycling Towards Sustainability Conference and Exhibition 2025, set to take place on June 25–26 at Raffles Doha Hotel, under the patronage of HE Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, Minister of Municipality.
Held under the theme 'From Waste to Wealth', this year's edition will gather broad participation from governmental and semi-governmental entities, private sector stakeholders, local factories, international organisations, and waste management experts.
At a press conference announcing the event, Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Al Karani, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Services Affairs at the MoM, affirmed that the annual conference reflects the Ministry's commitment to fostering a culture of recycling and sustainable development in line with national goals.
'The fifth edition underscores Qatar's growing dedication to adopting responsible environmental practices and advancing sustainability,' said Al Karani.
Eng. Hamad Jassim Al Bahr, director of the Waste Recycling and Treatment Department, noted that the conference will highlight cutting-edge technologies and innovations in waste management, while promoting the circular economy, enhancing the use of recycled materials, and encouraging public-private partnerships in support of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Henoted that the 2025 edition of the conference will feature more than 35 speakers, including
senior local and international officials, experts, and representatives from leading companies and institutions in the waste management
sector.
Key topics to be addressed include waste treatment projects, recycling of construction and demolition waste, extended producer and supplier responsibility, and the role of education and academic research in advancing recycling efforts.

Dr Fayqa Abdullah Ashkanani, director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Municipality, stated that her team has developed a comprehensive media strategy to promote the conference through national media channels and social media platforms. A dedicated website has also been launched to facilitate public registration, share event information, and archive previous editions.
Dr Ashkanani also highlighted that several leading countries in the recycling field will take part, presenting successful case studies and best practices. The Ministry's pavilion will feature visual awareness presentations that showcase its achievements and encourage active public and institutional involvement in waste reduction and the increased use of recycled resources.
