READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME Sets Release Date and First Look at Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton — GeekTyrant
Searchlight Pictures has officially wrapped production on the highly anticipated horror-comedy sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come , and we've got our first peek at what's to come. A behind-the-scenes image and video have dropped, showing returning scream queen Samara Weaving, bloodied, of course, handcuffed to newcomer Kathryn Newton ( Abigail, Freaky ). The sequel is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2026, and the BTS looks shows that Grace (Weaving) is once again be dragged into another nightmarish game of survival, this time, tethered to someone else. Newton's role hasn't been revealed yet, but judging by that handcuff, these two are going to be in it together, whether they like it or not. The film is being helmed once again by Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who are fresh off their work on Scream and Abigail. The screenplay comes from Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, the same creative team that gave the original Ready or Not its razor-sharp bite. The movie also stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, along withDavid Cronenberg and Elijah Wood . The first Ready or Not followed Grace, who marries into the ultra-rich Le Domas family, only to discover their wedding night includes a 'play-or-die' tradition, thanks to a deal with the Devil. Grace survives the night, while her in-laws don't. They explode. It was amazing! Now the big question is… how does Grace get pulled back in? And will this sequel dig deeper into the creepy cult mythology around Mr. Le Bail? With Grace still alive, there's clearly unfinished business. You can check out the first image and a short video with Weaving and Newton. It's not much, but it's enough to get excited about what's coming next.

‘Ready Or Not 2' Set for April 2026 Release
Searchlight Pictures has set the release of 'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come' on April 10, 2026. The sequel to the 2019 slasher film will see lead star Samara Weaving and directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return with a cast that includes Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Cronenberg and Elijah Wood. Ballerina: From the World of John Wick During a recent interview with Comic Book, Anjelica Huston described her character as 'a mother to Eve,' but unfortunately does not get her own fight scene in Ballerina. I see her as essentially a mother to Eve. She defends what she believes to be important and honest, and she'll stand in the way of anything that threatens that. I'd like to do more physical stuff. I would love to see what she's actually capable of because you know, you know it's something that somebody does not live in that world for very long without knowing how to throw down. Ready or Not 2 Speaking with Comic Book, Ready or Not 2 producer James Vanderbilt stated the upcoming sequel will 'expand the mythology' of the first film 'without explaining the entire mythology' of the series. There are a couple of different ways we are doing it. I don't want to give anything away. It's so early, and there is so little out there. What I will say is one of the reasons it has taken a minute to make this sequel was that we were really hard on ourselves on not just repeating what the first movie was, but also, not losing the sauce of what the first movie was. It's interesting because there's a debate all the way through as to what is real and what is not. That is answered at the end of the first movie, so you can't put that Le Bail back in the bottle. What Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy do in this script is incredibly smart. As soon as they pitched it, it was, 'Of course that's what it is. That's a great idea.' It's such a great way to tell this story. I am so excited for people to see it. I think it's safe to say we expand the mythology without explaining the entire mythology. I don't know if that sounds exciting, but it's exciting to us. I think it's the right amount of worldbuilding, while still telling an amazing emotional story. We felt so privileged that people embraced that movie, that we didn't want to revisit it if it was going to kinda be like, 'Oh, look. They did it again.' We were all okay leaving it be if we didn't come up with something that we felt added to it, or in some ways, topped it. We are all really excited about what it is going to be.
