After actor Ethan Embry 's casting in 'Scream 7' was announced in February, he recalled auditioning for the original 1996 Wes Craven-helmed teen slasher film that launched the popular horror franchise, reported Deadline. "The one thing that I can tell about Scream 7 was that it was absolutely incredible to be invited," he said, adding, "That is a lovely community of people, from the very beginning to what it is now. And I've been wanting to be a part of that franchise since the very beginning." Embry added, "I remember auditioning for Scream 1. I can't remember if it was for Jamie Kennedy's Randy or Matthew Lillard's Stu. It was one of those. But I remember not getting good feedback from Mr. Craven, " as per the outlet. However, the plot and character details are kept under wraps, Embry joins returning franchise stars Neve Campbell , Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Scott Foley, Matthew Lillard, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown, as well as newcomers Isabel May, Celeste O'Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Anna Camp, Joel McHale and Mark Consuelos. Chinatown crash topples road signs, two taken to hospital with head injuries

Chinatown crash topples road signs, two taken to hospital with head injuries A 55-year-old driver and his 38-year-old female passenger were taken to hospital after an accident involving two cars along Kreta Ayer Road towards New Bridge Road on May 28. Stomper Randy alerted Stomp to a Facebook video of the incident. In the clip, a car appears to have crashed into the wall outside the Sri Layan Sithi Vinayagar Temple in Chinatown. A road sign for Kreta Ayer Road and a stop sign are lying on the ground. Debris is also scattered across the traffic junction. A man with bandages wrapped around his head is seen sitting on a chair as another man holds an umbrella over him. In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 1.15pm. "A 55-year-old male car driver and his 38-year-old female passenger were conveyed conscious to the hospital," a police spokesperson said. According to 8world, the two cars involved were a silver Toyota and orange Nissan, both driven by private-hire drivers. The two people sent to hospital were seen bleeding from their heads. The female passenger in the Toyota was on her way to pick up her child from school when the accident happened. The airbags of both cars were deployed, and the fronts of both vehicles were badly damaged. Police investigations are ongoing. They also have a handful of solo headlining gigs and a one-off with Blue Öyster Cult and Foghat lined up over the next few months as well. 'We're playing all the hits, as well as diving deep into the album cuts,' Bachman said in an official statement. '…the response from fans has been incredible.' In addition to all of the staples you know and love, it's also likely Bachman and co. will play their recently-released, nostalgia-tinged single '60 Years Ago.' 'Takin' Care of Business' Bachman-Turner Overdrive new music On March 28, 2025, BTO dropped their first single in nearly 30 years. The nearly four-minute barroom rocker — appropriately dubbed '60 Years Ago' — name checks Canadian rock heroes Burton Cummings, Buffalo Springfield, The Guess Who and more. As an added bonus, the raucous ditty features a scorching guitar solo courtesy of The Godfather of Grunge himself, Mr. Neil Young. The song may be a last gasp for the aging rockers but also serves as proof positive that they still have gas left in the tank. If you'd like to hear the rallying cry of a tune for yourself, you can find '60 Years Ago' here. More about Bachman-Turner Overdrive In May 2024, The Post spoke with Randy Bachman about the origins of their classic 'Takin' Care Of Business,' new music and career highlights. 'One night I'm driving to a gig in Vancouver and a guy comes on the radio station. He says 'Hi, this is Daryl B and we're taking care of business,'' the 81-year-old told us about how the iconic tune came to be. Bachman wrote the title down and made the band play the song on the spot — unprepared and unrehearsed (!) — that night. Yes, the memorable call and response 'Takin' care of business/Every day/Takin' care of business/Every way/Takin' care of business/It's all mine/Takin' care of business/And workin' over time' was improvised. 'The crowd went crazy,' Bachman smiled. 'We recorded it two weeks later and that's what you hear.' For more stories like these, you can find our interview with Bachman here. Ahead of Materialist's release in theaters on June 13, PEOPLE has an exclusive clip depicting the early stages of a love triangle between Johnson's Lucy, a modern matchmaker, and eligible bachelor Randy (Pascal, 49) and her ex John (Evans, 43). "Love is easy," Lucy tells Randy while sitting across from him in a blue gown at a wedding reception. "Is it? I find it to be the most difficult thing in the world," he replies, smirking at Lucy, then questioning whether she is hitting on him. Lucy quickly waves the notion off, and instead begins her matchmaking pitch — quickly sussing out that Randy is a wealthy New York bachelor. The two are soon interrupted by John, who pops in with Lucy's favorite drink combo — a coke and a beer. A trailer for writer-director Celine Song's rom-com shows Johnson, 35, as a matchmaker whose professional life grows complicated after her own love life is thrust into the spotlight when she meets a potential new lover, Randy at an event and coincidentally reconnects with her ex, John, the same night. In the trailer, John asks Lucy if she intends on marrying Randy, whom seemingly wants to wed Lucy. The complicated love triangle even puts a strain on Lucy's confidence in her career. "A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex," reads an official synopsis for the film.
