At RBU, ideas of young innovators blossoming into successful startups

Nagpur: Ideas conceived and nurtured during college days have taken the shape of full-fledged real-world startups for innovators of Ramdeobaba University (RBU). On Tuesday, these innovations were on display at RBU's Technology Business Incubators (TBI) Foundation, a not-for-profit innovators, who started their journey as students with raw ideas, are now recruiters and proud owners of unique software, business solutions, and companies. A total of 75 start-ups have been mentored by TBI. Of these, 25 have become companies, officials known as the RCOEM TBI Foundation , it started in 2016 and has churned out over 78 startup ideas with hands-on mentorship, structured incubation, and access to funding through angel investors, VCs, and govt grants. The university aims to empower early-stage entrepreneurs and translate ideas into viable business ventures. "Fifteen student ventures received their first investment or funding directly from the university," said TBI director Rupesh chancellor SS Mantha and vice chancellor Rajesh Pande were also present during the demonstration at TBI. Among its many success stories, the foundation proudly highlighted a few standout ventures that capture the spirit of innovation and ambition nurtured within the university. The foundation has been identified as a Host Institution / Business Incubator (HI/BI) by the ministry of MSME. It has also been granted a fund under the Aspire scheme for the promotion of rural and agro-based startups.
