Transport Minister calls for wider participation in Yogandhra-2025
Minister for Transport, Youth Affairs and Sports Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy on Monday called on the people to actively participate in the Yogandhra-2025 initiative and make it a grand success. The yoga campaign organised at Boyakonda Gangamma temple premises in Chowdepalle on Monday (June 9) saw the participation of District Collector Sumit Kumar, Superintendent of Police Manikantha Chandolu, and the district in-charge Minister. The yoga camp commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the participants performing yoga asanas under the guidance of yoga masters. Highlighting that yoga has elevated India's global stature, Mr. Ramprasad Reddy said that the Yogandhra-2025 celebrations will conclude with a record-breaking mass yoga event at Ramakrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam on June 21. With an estimated participation of five lakh people, this event will be entering the Guinness World Record, he added. The Collector said that more than 5,000 yoga master trainers were deployed across the district to ensure seven yoga sessions per village secretariat. He highlighted yoga's role in combating stress and managing ailments like hypertension, diabetes, and other disorders. SP Manikantha Chandolu said that practicing yoga daily can boost one's immunity and overall health, while adding that even 30 minutes of yoga could do miracles.

421 teacher posts to be filled under mega sports DSC in Andhra Pradesh: Sports minister Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy
1 2 Vijayawada: A total of 421 posts out of 16,347 teacher posts under the Mega DSC - 2025 will be filled by implementing the three-percent horizontal reservation brought in by the TDP-led coalition govt under the New Sports Policy 2024-29 for sports persons in the state, said sports minister Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy . Address a media conference at SAAP office here in Vijayawada on Wednesday, Ram Prasad Reddy said that the state govt will issue notification for the mega sports DSC - 2025 on May 2 to fill 421 posts earmarked for sports persons under the three percent sports quota wherein applications will be received from eligible sports persons and candidates till May 31. Elaborating about the mega sports DSC notification, Ram Prasad Reddy said eligible applicants applied for the 421 posts will be provided teacher posts without the need for appearing for written exam under DSC, provided they produce all required sports certificates. He added that the details pertaining to state, zone and district wise posts, schedule, notification and help desk will be made available from 10 am on May 2 at & portals.

Journalists should act as guiding lights in driving society: Minister Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy
Tirupati: Transport Minister and Chittoor District in-charge Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy described the media as the fourth pillar of democracy and urged journalists to uphold their responsibility as guiding lights in advancing society. Speaking at the fourth general meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists' Federation (APWJF) Chittoor district branch in Chittoor on Tuesday, the minister praised journalism as a noble profession. He commended journalists for their selfless service, driven not by profit but by a deep sense of awareness and love for society. As a mark of support, Minister Ram Prasad Reddy pledged financial aid of Rs. 2 lakh for the children of journalists who achieved merit this year. District Collector Sumit Kumar, addressing the gathering, highlighted the importance of press freedom and encouraged journalists to work without external pressures, ensuring the accuracy of information presented to the public. He reiterated the government's commitment to journalist welfare and invited media professionals to approach the district administration with any concerns. Chittoor MLA G Jagan Mohan stated that the credibility of journalists increases when they report truthfully and promised to take action on constituency issues raised by the media. Puthalapattu MLA K Murali Mohan emphasized the press's role in awakening society and urged journalists to operate with courage and independence when uncovering the truth. During the event, MLA Jagan Mohan personally contributed Rs. 5,20,000 towards health insurance coverage for 400 journalists.
