In a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's Facebook, His Majesty emphasised the great role of a father in the lives of his family and children. 'A father is not only the backbone of the family, but also a source of strength and guidance in the lives of his children,' said His Majesty. Sultan Ibrahim also expressed his appreciation for all the sacrifices, love and guidance that fathers have selflessly given to their families. 'Thank you for all the sacrifices, love and guidance. Although sometimes not expressed in words, the services and love of a father are always embedded in the heart. 'May Allah SWT also always bless my late father, Almarhum Sultan Iskandar dan Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah II,' said His Majesty. Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June every year to appreciate the role, services and sacrifices of a father who is the protector of the family. — Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, King and Queen of Malaysia, have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students who perished in a tragic bus accident in Perak, early this morning. In a Facebook post shared on the King's official page, Their Majesties conveyed deep sorrow over the tragedy and offered prayers that the bereaved families be granted strength, patience, and ease during this profoundly difficult time. Their Majesties also prayed for the swift recovery of those who were injured and are currently receiving treatment. The fatal crash occurred at 1.10 am at KM53 of the East-West Highway (JRTB) near Tasik Banding in Gerik, Perak, involving a chartered bus transporting UPSI students back to their campus in Tanjung Malim, and a Perodua Alza multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that was traveling in the same direction, from Jeli, Kelantan to Gerik. A total of 48 victims were accounted for, including 15 who perished. Seven victims were admitted to the red zone for critical condition, 20 to the yellow zone (semi-critical), and six to the green zone (minor injuries) at Gerik Hospital. — Bernama

JOHOR BAHRU, June 8 — The Johor Royal Family graciously donated 230 cows for ibadah korban (ritual sacrifice) for distribution to those in need in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha. Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz, stated that this bestowal not only eases the burden of the recipients but also ignites the spirit of sacrifice, sincerity, and compassion among the people of Johor. According to him, this is truly the real spirit of Aidiladha: strengthening ties and channeling welfare to those in need. 'We express our highest gratitude for the gracious consent of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah, the Regent of Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail, and the entire Johor Royal Family for the bestowal of 230 sacrificial cows to the people of Johor, especially to those in need, in conjunction with the celebration of Hari Raya Aidiladha 1446H / 2025M. KUALA LUMPUR, June 7 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty the Queen, Raja Zarith Sofiah, have extended Hari Raya Aidiladha greetings to all Muslims in the country. Their Majesties also expressed hope that the sacrificial rites or 'Ibadah Korban' would be carried out well, and be blessed and accepted by Allah. 'Let this spirit of sacrifice continue to unite the people in harmony, compassion, and universal human values,' Their Majesties said in a post on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar today. Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah also prayed for the safety and well-being of Malaysian pilgrims in the Holy Land and for their pilgrimage to be accepted as 'haj mabrur'.
