Bhusawal division unveils newly renovated ladies-only waiting hall ‘Shanti Alay'
Nashik : Central Railway's Bhusawal division has unveiled a newly renovated ladies-only waiting hall 'Shanti Alay' at Platform No. 1 of the station , with focus on improving passenger amenities "As part of enabling the upgradation and maintenance of passenger facilities, the railway authorities transformed an existing space and customised it exclusively for women passengers, offering a safe, clean, and thoughtfully designed area that embodies both comfort and convenience," said Ity Pandey, the Divisional Railway Manager. The waiting hall was developed into an all-pink theme to reflect warm, feminine, and welcoming ambiance for women travellers. "The idea is to give clean, hygienic spaces to women in general and lactating mothers so that they feel safe," said the officer. Shanti Alay – strictly for women passengers only – boasts modern seating with airport-styled stainless-steel cushioned benches, upgraded lighting, enhanced ventilation with additional fans and airconditioners, and interiors to create a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The space also offers light refreshments and beverages (non-alcoholic), including self-dispensing tea/coffee machines and Rail Neer bottles, a travel desk to assist passengers, and the sale of magazines, newspapers, sanitary pads, toiletries, and OTC medicines. The officer further pointed out that a nominal fee of Rs 20 per hour will be charged from women willing to benefit from the lounge to support the upkeep and management of the facility. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Solaranlagen viel günstiger: Dieser Qualitätsführer macht's möglich Febesol Mehr erfahren Undo "We did this at Nashik Road railway station. New bottling plant in Naini to boost water supply for rly stns
Prayagraj: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) is setting up a new Rail Neer packaged drinking water bottling plant in Saraswati Hi-Tech City, Naini, Prayagraj to ensure adequate supply of hygienic drinking water for passengers. Currently, the daily demand is being met by trucks transporting water from the Maneri plant in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. However, due to increasing demand, especially during summers, supply shortages often force the sale of alternative water brands at stations. The new plant, with a daily production capacity of 100,000 litres, is expected to end these shortages and ensure the availability of standardised, high-quality drinking water at stations and food plazas throughout the Prayagraj region. Once operational, this plant will supply 22,000 litres of Rail Neer daily to nine railway stations across the Prayagraj city region, including the busy Prayagraj Junction. The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has allotted 25 acres of land for this project, and an investment of Rs 25 crore has been proposed. The key aim of the project is to provide safe, packaged drinking water to rail passengers, helping to prevent water-borne diseases and improve the overall quality of railway services. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! In addition to this plant, UPSIDA has also allocated 13 acres each to Bisleri and Kemco companies. Bisleri is set to invest Rs 270 crore in its bottling facility while Kemco, which will manufacture raw materials for bottles, will invest Rs 200 crore. These developments are expected to generate both direct and indirect employment, thereby strengthening the local economy. According to UPSIDA regional manager Santosh Kumar, the construction work for all three plants will begin shortly. Once functional, the Prayagraj plant is expected to consume only about 20% of its production capacity locally. The surplus water will be distributed to major railway stations in Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur, with the plant also capable of meeting special demand surges as required.
